3rd Person POV

L O C A T I O N : D O G S H A N K ' S   S H O P

Kai hummed in agreement "Let's make it count."

Dilara looked at Lloyd, "Good luck, Lloyd." The two hug each other, and Lloyd murmured, "Thank you." They pulled away, and Lloyd saw Seliel. "Seliel..." the two hug too. "Don't go dying on us, Blondie."

Lloyd gave a short laugh, "Wasn't planning on it." He faced Dogshank, "Thank you."

Dogshank simply gave a small nod.

"Nya will be sneaking through, with Jay. They'll be on the other side somewhere, with Ronin."

The rest of the group came out. Nya hugged her brother and Lloyd in turn. "Stay alive," she murmured into Kai's ear.

"Love you too, sis."

"Stay safe, Pintsize."

"Will do, Midget."

"Ready to go Lloyd?" Kai asked. The blonde nodded, "Let's go." Pulling the hood up, he took his gun and hid it under his armour, and he and Kai left the store. The others watched them leave. Dilara placed a hand on Nya and Jay's shoulder. "Ronin's waiting for you two. Stay safe."

They nodded and gave everyone one last hug before leaving too.

"By order of Master Chen, all residents must proceed to the Presidential Estate. Please continue to move forward in a calm and orderly fashion. Additional food, medicine and clothing will be provided upon arrival." This was blaring through the speakers on repeat. Kai and Lloyd silently made their way under the bridge, where they saw many citizens shuffling towards the direction of Chen's mansion.

The duo blended in with the crowd and started moving in the same direction. All the way on the other side, Nya and Jay walked silently, side-by-side, their hands intertwined with each other.

"By order of Master Chen, all residents must proceed to the Presidential Estate. Please continue to move forward in a calm and orderly fashion. Additional food, medicine and clothing will be provided upon arrival." 

The place was silent, and all you could hear was footsteps shuffling to the front. The mansion was now in view. As they continued walking, they could see Anacondrai Warriors standing up straight, guns positioned. 

A baby who was being carried just ahead caught onto Lloyd's. She was wearing a yellow jumpsuit. Her eyes met his and her head lifted. Lloyd quickly looked down. The baby stared at him, blinking with her wide eyes.

Kai's POV

Just as we were nearing the front, we saw Warriors checking each individual. We stopped and immediately turned back around, only to see more Warriors heading our way. My heart was racing as we had no choice but to turn back around; they had boxed us in. My hand reached into my pocket and wrapped around the handle of the pistol.

They were right behind us now, and I could hear Lloyd's breath hitch. Just as one put their hands on his shoulder, a bomb went off, and everyone screamed, ducking.

"It's the rebels!" someone roared, as bullets started flying, Warriors dropping dead. My mind instantly went to Nya and Jay; were they okay?

Another bomb went off, and I saw a little baby girl in a yellow jumpsuit crying out "Mama!"

Standing up, I grabbed Lloyd, "Come on!" We break into a run, keeping low and dodging bullets as we did so. Another bomb went off and we leapt over a fence, ducking behind it for cover. I punch a Warrior hard in the face and grab his gun. I beckon for Lloyd, "Come on!"

It was mayhem. We jumped over a second fence and continued running. Bullets zinged past us, and we hid behind a truck. Another bomb went off, flipping the truck over, setting it alight and we both jumped out of the way. The gun flies out of my hand and my eyes widen as I see Jay being restrained by two Warriors. I reach for my pistol in my coat but it's too late as they've dragged him and put him in the truck. Lloyd and I catch our breath for a minute. "They got Jay." I pant.

"We gotta keep moving." he urges, and I nod. We stand up, and pull the hoods over our head again, and keep running. Another bomb goes off but we narrowly miss it. We pushed through the crowd, where they were sending the children forward.

I climb onto the truck to get a better vantage point. The gates were still closed. All the children were sobbing and screaming as they were passed to the Anacondrai Warriors.

A hovercraft with the Capitol's insignia loomed over the place, leaving a trail of small parachutes in its wake. Everyone fell silent as they watched them slowly float down. Everyone raised their arms to reach for them, mistaking them for gifts and health packages. It doesn't take long for me to put together 2 and 2, but before I could say anything they all explode, sending everyone flying.

I wince and sit up as the smoke clears. My ears are ringing. A few feet away, Lloyd also sits up. My eyes scan the place, trying to look for the messy ponytail.

"Nya?" I call out, my voice weak. I scramble to my feet and start walking forward, limping, more like.

Several medics rushed forward to aid the injured. "Nya?! Sis?!"

"Naveah!" I see a girl sit up, and I recognise her instantly.

"Nya!" She looks around wildly, before her eyes lock into mine. A wave of relief washes over me.

"Naveah-" Just as I was about to reach her, a second wave of bombs dropped, sending me back and knocking me unconscious.

L O C A T I O N : H O S P I T A L
3 : 3 4 P M

I awake with a jolt, and take in my surroundings.

I wasn't in my cosy bed back in Ignacia.

I wasn't in the bunker beds at the Rebel Base.

I wasn't in the sewers underground.

I was in a hospital. I see Lloyd sitting on the chair beside me, and he gives me a sad smile, "Hey."

"Hey." I sit up slowly, "How long was I out for?"

"Since this morning."

The door opened and Skylor, Jay and Seliel entered, grim looks on their faces, "Hey guys! You okay?"

"Y-Yeah..."

I rip the tubes off my arms, "Do you know which room Nya's in? I saw the bombs hit, is she on this floor?"

They stay silent. I frown, "Guys?"

Jay chokes back a sob. Lloyd looked at me, tears in his eyes, "W-When you spotted Nya and approached her, a second wave of bombs dropped. The coats protected you and I. Nya, on the other hand...it hit her and she died on impact."

I felt my blood run cold, "W-What?"

"I'm so sorry, Kai."

Tears well up in my eyes and I fall back onto the bed, shaking with sobs. My only blood family left, my baby sister was dead.

And it was all Chen's fault.

Skylor looked towards the door, "We won. The Rebels won. The Capitol citizens turned on Chen because of the bomb attacks. He's been captured by the Rebels."

Okie, WE HAVE ONE OR TWO MORE CHAPTERS LEFT, THEN THE EPILOGUE, THEN THE START OF PART 2!

Part 2 takes place BEFORE all of this. It's kind of a prequel. So yeah!
