Kaneki's POV
"Thank you doctor...." I stopped in front of the white sliding door to Yuki's room and turned to the doctor with a solemn expression.

"No problem.... You might as well talk to her because she may hear you in her sleep." My eyes widened and I nodded my head as he walked away. Taking a deep breath I slid opened the door and closed it before me. As I walked past the blue curtain wall, I gasped in shock. I stumbled backwards and held my hand to my mouth while tears fell from my eyes.

"Yuki...."

I slowly stood up and shakily, I walked over to Yuki's limp body. I looked in horror as machines surrounded and was plugged into her body. I fearfully walked over to the edge of her bed and dropped to my knees and sobbed into the white sheets of the bed. I looked up to find her hand and held onto it. It was icy cold to the touch to the point where my heart froze thinking that she's dead.

"I-i'm sorry... I'm so-sorry Yuki.... P-please wake u-up!" I looked at her pale face and brushed her pale and cold cheeks as my tears didn't slowed down its downfall pace of a waterfall.

"Y-you can't l-leave me Yuki... Don't le-leave me.... Don't leave m-me like M-mom.... I-I still n-need you! I'm s-sorry! So please come back!" I squeezed Yuki's cold hand tighter and sobbed into the sheets making it slightly transparent.

"I'm sorry Yuki.... This is all because of me.... I dragged you into this mess.... I'm the reason why you're in a coma.... "

Yuki's POV
I hear.....crying...no it's worse than crying....sobbing....sobs of agony and despair of horror......who's crying?....wait...it sounds like... Ken?!

"I-i'm sorry... I'm so-sorry Yuki.... P-please wake u-up!"

Ken!.... Don't cry.... Why are you blaming yourself?... It's my fault..... Don't apologize.... ?!.... His hands are warm...but icy at the same time.... It's warming up my hands....but it feels like he's frozen with so much agony.... I'm sorry Ken-nii....

"Y-you can't l-leave me Yuki... Don't le-leave me.... Don't leave m-me like M-mom.... I-I still n-need you! I'm s-sorry! So please come back!"

I-i don't w-want to leave y-you.... I don't w-want to l-leave you a-alone.... I-I won't go with m-mom because I n-need you....and y-you need me..... I w-want to come back.... S-stop crying.... Please st-stop crying Ken..... I-it hurts to see y-you in p-pain... I-I'm sorry for n-not being th-there right now to co-comfort you.... It's m-my fault....

Kaneki's POV
As I cried and held onto Yuki's hand, my phone went off. I wiped my tears and dug through my bag to see name of the contact and gasped.... Hide....

I looked at Hide's name on my phone and stared at it solemnly and ignored it. My tears continuously fell and I placed my phone back into my bag and wiped my tears away to clear my eyes from my blurry vision. Sighing, I looked back to Yuki's small and limp form and smiled sadly.

"I'll be waiting for you..... I love you, Yuki......" Getting up to my feet, I leaned towards Yuki's pale face and kissed her forehead. Leaving with a heavy heart, I walked out of the hospital and walked towards my apartment..... This time.... The apartment wouldn't feel lively without Yuki bothering me, laughing with me, teasing me, saying random things to make me smile, and just basically her cheerful self to be here with me in this lonely apartment.

Timeskip; Third person POV
'Huh?... What's this?.... It's from Hide....'

Kaneki walked into his apartment as he read the note form Hide and sighed. Hide bought Kaneki's favorite hamburger steak and Yuki some pocky. Placing the bag onto the table, he retreated slowly over to his room with heavy steps.

'I felt empty... I felt lonely... I felt broken.... It was like a foreign feeling...'

Kaneki laid onto his bed and stared into the existence of non-living thoughts. Snapping out of his daze, his stomach was growling in hunger...

'It hurts... It's like my stomach is grinding against the sides in pain....'

Kaneki turned on the tv in his room as the light from the screen illuminated onto his face and room dimly. Sighing... He sat up and froze with fear...

"Ghouls can't eat human food. Their taste buds work differently than humans and would taste like slime."

'W-what! N-no! It's a l-lie!'

"Regular sharp blades like kitchen knives won't have any effect on ghouls."

Staring at the screen in a horrified manner, he choked out screams and incoherent words. He lifted himself off from his bed and dashed out of the room and to the bag that he had gotten from Hide. He hastily grabbed a burger wrapped in plastic and opened it with trembling hands of ice. Hesitating, he forced himself to take a few bites and felt like puking immediately.

Rushing to the toilet, Kaneki puked out all the so called filthy remains of what a ghoul would not be able to consume. Rushing back into the kitchen, he tried eating other types of foods. Kaneki was hoping that everything would just be a haunting dream of nightmares.... A grim nightmare... None of this is true for Kaneki... Right?... (Sorry to break it to you but... It's true myself-I mean um Kaneki...Please continue...)

He tried drinking milk, but it tastes like polluted water from the ocean.... Everything... Everything was horrible...... Am I really a ghoul?... No... It can't be true... (Kaneki... Why.. It's.... It's milk!... Ruby does not approve... RWBY... Sorry...)

Kaneki blankly walked over to the plastic bag he got from Hide and grabbed his favorite food... Steak... (Dramatic pause... of the steak!)

He boiled the packet in hot water. The mess of food spills laid all around his broken soul of hopes and terror. His mind is silent in solemn and despair as this was his last hope to see if he can still be called human.

Kaneki carefully opened the packet as it releases a warm smell, but this time, the smell didn't attract his senses... He placed the fresh cooked steak onto a plate and seated himself at the table. Cutting one small part of the tender steak, Kaneki bit into the piece of steak and shed a tear.... His hopes were broken... He is a ghoul...

He was in a mess... He was torn apart... He couldn't eat human food anymore... He has to eat human flesh...

'I can't see Hide then... What about Yuki?!... If she's in a coma and she can't eat... Then she would die right?... If she received surgery and had some organs transported from Rize-san...... She's a ghoul too... NO! THIS IS WRONG-'

"Kaneki-kun~!..." Kaneki's body froze as his head shot up in fear. He whipped his head everywhere but found no one but himself and a huge mess.... But... He knew who's voice it was very clearly....

It belonged to the now dead Rize...
