Chapter 19- The Starry Sky
Yuki's POV
"See you tomorrow, Fura-kun." Arima said to the orange haired laid.
"Mh. Take care of Yuki. See ya later Arima. *Yawn*" Fura gave a great yawn, walking away from Arima and I.
"... I-I think I can walk from here. You've carried me quite a lot already..." I suggested, shy with my own words.
"Alright." He responded nonchalantly.
Arima opened the door to his apartment, turning on the lights to reveal a western styled interior design. It was actually quite roomy and a large apartment.
"Do you live alone...?" I asked, unsure because of my hesitation if I would be asking someone personal.
"Yeah." He shortly replied. "Come. We should properly disinfect your injury." I saw Arima pull out a medical kit and placing it onto the coffee table. I carefully directed myself over and sat down.
*Unwrap*
"*Choke* W-what kind of injury is that?!" I gasped, covering my eyes from the sudden shock of the weirdly shaped cut.
"It's the one you got from-"
"N-n-no! Why didn't I feel pain from this weird cut?! I-it's g-gross! I can see my s-skin tearing!" I began to go lightheaded.
"Don't worry. I'll be careful tending to this. A lady shouldn't carry scars on her body."
"......"
'Well, I already have plenty of them...'
After countless whimpers of the pain of the disinfection with the power of alcohol, I was beat tired. Like dead tired exhausted.
"... I feel so light headed now..." I commented lifelessly.
"I'll make some dinner." Arima said, standing up.
".... C-can I help...?" I asked, fidgeting with my fingers and hair.
"Can you cook?" He asked, making me choke on air.
"Ahaha~! Of course I- can't..." I sweat dropped. "B-but, can you teach me...?" I timidly asked, continuing to play with my hair, giggling nervously.
"Sure... Just don't burn down the place."
"I-I won't! Hopefully..." I mumbled the last part.
An hour later~
"Woah! You're a great cook, Kishou! This is a full course meal! I wish I can cook like you!" I exclaimed, setting up the table for two.
"Thank you. It just takes practice."
"Well, maybe I should start learning then..." I thought, placing a finger to my chin.
"Hmph." I glanced over to Arima, seeing him smirk lightly, but I shrugged off the idea.
"Thank you for the food!"
*Nom nom*
"Awesome Arima! The fish you stewed is super tasty! The salad dressing is so light, yet enchanting! Amazing~!" I smiled, taste buds dancing in harmony and joy.
"Don't you have school tomorrow?" He asked, biting into a piece of fish.
"Eheh, umm... Maybe?" I chuckled nervously, remembering that my bullies at school would be furious at me for the last time I punched their faces and their nonexistent guy spot.
"Would you like me to make you a bento?"
"Ahah. What? Am I hearing things correctly?" I innocently smiled, nomming into a diced vegetable.
"I'll help you with your homework and studying if you'd like. I'll give you my phone number after we eat." Arima continued to say, ignoring my nervous chuckles.
"... I guess I have no choice but to go to school." I sighed. "Oh well! Maybe I can play some basketball!" I joked.
'Yeah. Play basketball by myself again...'
—————
Arima made me take a shower because of the rubble in my hair from the collapsed building. After all, I do think I need to shower in general because I don't know if I stink or not and I feel way to self conscious about myself right now.
Arima lent me a T-shirt and some pajama pants. It's weird since his clothes are oversized for my small self, but it kinda makes me happy. My heart can't stop beating. I've never felt like this. My heart has never raced like this. My heart has never felt so safe and sound.
"I'm done c-changing Kishou..." I said, knocking on Arima's bedroom door.
I heard footsteps come closer to the door that separated us. The door opened, revealing Arima without his glasses.
*Ba-bump*
"U-um! D-do you w-want to look at the stars together K-Kishou?" I blurted out, randomly speaking once I saw his gleaming silver eyes.
"Sure. Let me get a sweater."
"Okay..."
'What did I say?! Baka Yuki! Baka! Gahh! His eyes are so gorgeous! I just had to say something because of his eyes! He wasn't wearing his glasses either! He's so hot! Shut up me...! His eyes remind me so much of those stars I yearn for! Baka baka baka Yuki!'
"Here."
"Huh? I thought you needed the sweater." I commented as Arima carefully draped a tan cardigan over my shoulders.
"I'm fine. I don't need one." He replied.
We went out to the balcony, feeling the breeze of the cool night flow past my figure. My hair intertwined and danced around, covering my face now and then.
"Beautiful..." I whispered, enchanted by the twinkling stars.
"What makes you love the stars?" Arima asked which made me smile in thought.
"Hmph." I gestured, amused. "Well, I admire those stars up there. Good kids at school would always get a star, but I've never gotten one. I would envy those kids and I knew that I can never be like everyone else with this temper and the fact that I'm a fighter at school! Aha!" I chuckled, sighing in melody of the memories I hold.
"You know... I think you're a good person, Yuki."
"... What makes you say that...?" I asked, curious and perplex. "I... I have never heard someone say that to me before. What makes you think that way?"
"You want to change and that's all enough. Plus, when you smile, you show a whole new side to yourself."
*Poof*
"H-haha! Y-you're a w-w-weird guy, Kishou!" I chuckled nervously, swaying my hand in the air.
"You should smile more." He commented.
"D-d-don't day that! It's weird!" I blurted out, tightening the sides of the cardigan over my chest.
The air around us went silent, being illuminated with the moon's bright and shining light.
How beautiful the moon and stars were that night. That memorable night where I learned how to cherish myself more.
—————
"Good night Yuki." Arima said, closing the door to the room while turning off the lights.
"Night." I replied, yawning.
Luckily, Arima had an extra room for guests. I mean, if it were some cliche anime or fanfic, we'd have to share the SAME room and SAME bed. Haha! Cliches... As if being saved by a star isn't a cliche moment.
"Pft! I need sleep..."

Arima's POV
"Let's see... I should wake her up an hour early to make sure she goes home to get her school bag." I muttered to myself, silently writing in a math workbook.
"Yuki... She's just like a ghoul magnet. She needs to be observed safely at all times if she wants to continue to live."
A/N
Helloooo! This is apparently the last chapter of Yuki's side of her past which was why it was a short chapter! I will write more of her past later on in the story though!
Poor Kaneki hasn't been given his spotlight as much in here, huh? Maybe in the next chapter, we'll see how he's been doing (horrible).
Thank you for reading!
