Welcome!

Hello!

Welcome to my amateur little review book. This is mostly for fun and exposure for all involved parties! It's here to help you grow as a writer and me grow as a reviewer. I'm not an expert, but I have judged before, plus I've read too many books to count over the course of my life (so far) and written one of my own. I'm here to help to the best of my abilities, so even if you just need a second set of eyes, feel free to submit a form!

Please keep in mind that my reviews are subjective! Please don't let a negative one discourage you from writing or a positive one keep you from editing! If you disagree with my review, feel free to reach out and let me know why, but don't be rude.

HOW THIS WORKS:

- I will accept five books per month. Once you complete the payment, your username and book title will be added to the queue at the end of this chapter, and I will work down it as quickly as I can. I am a human juggling a job and school, so if reviews take a while, please be patient with me.

- Please fill out the form properly. I won't accept requests through PM or on my message board. Make sure to tag me when you fill out the form just in case the comment notification gets buried. The password is your favorite movie. Please only complete payment once I've accepted your form.

- I can only read English stories (sorry).

- I will read the first three chapters of your story. I can go up to five, but this will cost a little extra since it's extra time I have to spend on you. More on that later.

- I can post your review in this book or PM it to you. The choice is entirely yours. If you'd like to read it before I post it here, that's perfectly fine. Just let me know in the forms. I'll also try to reach out to you before I start your book, and you can let me know about any concerns you may have.

- I accept all genres. LGBTQ+ and Mature stories are perfectly fine, as long as they follow the content guidelines! Fanfic and poetry are fine, but I'm not very good at judging either of them, especially if I don't know the fandom (which I probably won't). As I said, I'm a human and my reviews are subjective. Like you, I prefer certain genres (sci-fi, fantasy, classic lit, good romance) over others (fanfic, werewolf, bad romance), so this may affect my enjoyment, but I'll try to keep my mind open.

- Please follow me for the duration of the review. This is just so that if I announce anything terribly important, you'll know. After your review, feel free to stick around! I'd love to have you! However, you're free to unfollow me if you wish.

HOW I JUDGE:

-Unless you ask, I will not judge covers. The reason for this is that I'm horrible at making them myself and really don't have a good frame of reference to judge the quality of someone else's. However, if you want, I can add it to the title section and tell you my thoughts.

- I won't include any sort of score. Instead, I'll give you as much feedback as I can in as much depth as I can manage.

-Title. I'm not the best at titles myself, so for this one, the criteria are really just relevance and catchiness.

- Grammar is a big thing for me. If your grammar prevents my comprehension of your story, it's a big deal. However, I'm won't be a stickler about it. A stray comma or two don't bug me, but if you're switching tenses or writing run-on sentences or sentence fragments, I'll tell you here.

- Characters should be well-developed and relatable. In 3-5 chapters, I should be able to get a good sense of them. They should be compelling and make me root for them, one way or another.

- Dialogue needs to be realistic. A lot of writers include conversations like: "Hello, Alice. It is Charlie, your brother. Our mother, Carol, wants you to know that you are expected home for dinner at 6:00 because it is the anniversary of our father's passing." This takes your reader right out of the story. It's wordy and there are zero contractions, plus characters that should already know each other and their situation but tell it to each other anyways! Dialogue should be appropriate and not overly formal, and not used too heavily as an expositional crutch. In short, I'll mostly be looking at whether your characters talk like people.

- Plot and pacing (especially the latter) can be tricky. They'll be judged from my perspective as a reader more than a real reviewer. This is also where my subjective views come in. If your plot doesn't speak to me personally, I may not like it enough. Here, just try to avoid the more painful and redundant cliches. When it comes to pacing, don't take forever on some things, and don't skip past others. Strike a balance that fits your story, whether it's a quick, thrill-packed action book or a slow-burn romance.

- Personal enjoyment means my overall thoughts. Here, I'll just give you the tl;dr version of your review along with my opinion.

PAYMENT:

- Please leave at least ten comments on my book The Prince and the Punk. Even if it's not your thing, I'd appreciate you giving it a try and letting me know what you think. You can be honest! It won't affect the review! If it really isn't your cup of tea and looks awful, you can leave your comments on Silver and Gold if you like.

- If you want me to read extra chapters, I'll require two extra comments on my book for each extra chapter I read (up to five).

- You can divide up your comments however you want. You can leave them all on the first chapter, or leave one on each chapter, or just comment whatever and whenever you want until you've hit the requirement. My only request is that you don't just comment "lol" or "omg" or a random emoji. I'm a growing writer, too, and I could always use genuine input (or a joke at least).
