"Anna Cornell"
♥Cover: 4/5- The cover is pretty, I love the theme. It gives us a taste of Anna before we explore her world.
♥Description: 10/10- The description is extremely detailed and very interesting. When someone thinks of the 1920's era most think of their grandparents (or some great grandparents), but this novel helps us focus on the lives that were lived during that time. The detailed description makes me excited to begin reading this novel.
♥Grammar & Punctuation: 18/20-
I noticed some grammar mistakes as I read the first five chapters, not too many to pull a reader's attention away and a few simple punctuation errors we're found. This novel is VERY well written by a talented author. There were a couple times it changed tenses, but that is a simple mistake all authors so at one point.
♥Originality: 5/5- Woah! Most definitely original and unique. If there are similar stories as this i for one have never read them. This is a hidden gem, truly one of a kind and sets a high boundary and expectation for originality for stories such as this in the future.
♥Character Development: 18/20- We get to know Anna (and her family) from her early days as she reminisces from the beginning of chapter one. The novel has a string character build up. If I were the author I would include details about Anna's physical features. I love her strong personality and adore her relationship with her older brother. It adds a personal touch and reminds me of how close my baby brother and I are. (He's 25 so not a baby 😂)
♥Plot Development: 20/20- Starting with the prologue the backstory is told through Anna in great detail, which built a strong foundation for the plot. The pace is perfect. I love how the author compares situations from back them to how they would be viewed in today's society. One thing I would focus a tad on is Anna's leg. (Don't want to give away spoilers.) Maybe add in something minor she does so the reader remembers what happened at the beginning.
♥Overall Look: 9/10- I like how the writing is centered instead of aligning left like every other story. Try to use italics when a character is in thought. When you use quotation marks it indicates speaking out loud. Great length for your chapters, I enjoy lomg chapters. They definitely express your hard work.
♥Enjoyment: 10/10- The prologue alone had me hooked. I kept reading and didn't want to stop. This novel is insanely interesting! I recommend anyone who enjoys a good read to check this out.
♥Total: 95/100
