Intro:

Aeonian was written by sugararmy07. It won first place in the "Best Cover" category for my Padauk Awards. Sugararmy07, or Honey, is a good friend of mine and talented cover designer and writer. I definitely strongly recommend her work, and if you ever need a cover, she's the person to go to. She's very accommodating and good at what she does!

We'll be giving detailed feedback on Aeonian's cover today, so let's begin!

Detailed Feedback

Let's jump right into the review, starting with the font and text placement. One of the things I love most about all your covers is where you place your text, and what the font is. This cover is no different. I love how you put Aeonian on the left side instead of in the middle, and I like the placement of the author's name, subtext up top, and the Eternal and Everlasting next to the Aeonian, giving readers context clues that that's what Aeonian means. The fonts are all beautiful and fit in perfectly with the overall vibe of the cover.

The background image gives immaculate Jungkook vibes, which is what you were going for, so you did that perfectly. Like I mentioned in the interview, I literally thought that was Jungkook at first and wouldn't have known if you didn't tell me otherwise. The overall atmosphere is dark and mysterious, and it makes the reader wonder who the ominous figure is and what these oneshots could possibly be about. You do a good job making the readers wonder what the book could entail, making them want to click on the "see more" button to read further.

The color scheme is my personal favorite part of the cover. I love black and white color schemes, but this one stands out more than the average b&w cover due to the way it fits the Jungkook vibes I mentioned above, but also how it feels like it fits in with the whole theming of Aeonian with the eternal and everlasting definition. It kinda just feels like it would have a black and white cover. Does that make sense? It just really feels like it requires a b&w aesthetic, and you delivered. I hope that makes sense, it's just a feeling for me where I feel it needs that darker color scheme. Maybe I'm going crazy. That's definitely possible. Actually, I already am crazy, let's be real. But on a serious note, the color scheme works very well for this cover and looks absolutely fantastic, especially in dark mode.

While on the topic of things that look fantastic, the overall quality is great. We've talked about the quality of your covers before, but this one in particular is super crisp and clear, beating the dreaded Wattpad blur. It looks incredibly sharp, and that's one of my favorite parts about this cover, which is saying something considering I like everything about it.

Although there are many things to praise about this cover, let's wrap up by saying there's a lot yet not a lot happening on this cover, and I mean that in the best way possible because even though there are many different elements, you manage to make them all understandable, easy to see, and not overwhelming, almost making it feel like there isn't too much on the cover, but there actually is. This is because the cover is very visually cohesive with strong visual hierarchy. Text placement has to do with it, but also the well-chosen fonts and everything else I mentioned, like the color scheme, all coming together to form visual cohesion that makes it easer on the readers to process your work.

All in all, Aeonian has an incredible cover that hooked me in right away. The colors, text, background image, clarity, and visual cohesion were my favorite parts about it, and all these elements combined to make an awesome cover that blew me away, as is the usual with Honey's covers.

Aeonian has an excellent cover that gives the readers the vibe the author was going for—dark Jungkook vibes. I really thought that image was Jungkook at first, that's how well the vibes match. But even beyond the vibes, the cover is visually attractive and cohesive, and the stories inside are very entertaining (I'm not biased at all-). If you like these dark covers and interesting oneshot stories, then this is the perfect book for you.
