Seven Dates A Weekend @riveting-

Title

The title of the book is 'Seven Dates A Weekend' and it's a great title because it immediately grabs your attention and has you wondering. Now, I'm thinking to myself, how on earth can a person fit 7 dates in a weekend which is only 2 days long? Like what are you doing with your life?

It sounds stressful if anything because it means you've got to be dressing up for the dates every time and if it's a girl, that means doing your makeup about a thousand times and changing into god knows how many dresses. The title makes me think of this movie as well where this lady has to attend like 7 different weddings on the same day.

Cover

The cover is fairly simple with a plain, black background and a white outline of a girl and guy drawn on the side. Now I think it's good that the outline is white because it stands out against the background and you've also included the title which is white with a bold font too.

The only issue I have is that it's not very colourful. I'm not expecting it to be full of colour, it isn't picasso's art work but it's still a cover that needs to stand out a bit more. Maybe consider changing the colour of the outline on the cover or the title itself.
Blurb

We're introduced to the main character Saloni - who has a pretty cool name by the way. Saloni is one of those people who have their whole day planned out from the beginning till the end. She basically does this so well that she has no time for her friends or a basic social life but somehow manages to agree to doing the whole seven dates a weekend thing which I'm assuming her friends suggested to her.

From reading this blurb, Saloni seems like an interesting character because she's such a perfectionist and that makes me curious as I'm wondering where these 7 dates could possibly lead her to. Will she fall in love with any of them? Will there be any dates that go wrong? The blurb already has me excited and I want to find out more and jump into the book.

First chapter

In the first chapter, it is very clear to me that our main character Saloni is like one of those control freaks who has a whole system that she lives her life by which is kind of crazy, however, there are people in this world who are actually like that so she's not the first one.

The tone is quite amusing in the first chapter, especially when she bumps into the man and they begin to blame one another for the incident. I love how there's sarcasm included in the book from Saloni as it makes her seem really funny and I'm starting to like her. For a first chapter, I think you have done an amazing job because you've got me drawn into it and I'm enjoying reading the book so well done.

My only feedback or suggestion would be to perhaps make the chapter a little shorter because although it is solid for a first chapter, however, it is quite long at the same time. Maybe, you could introduce her friends in the next chapter after the guy has turned and walked away. This is just a suggestion, and it's completely your choice of course.

Plot/theme

So throughout the next few chapters of the book, Solani goes to a cafe wherein I'm guessing she sees the same man she bumped into in the first chapter and grabs him. They begin arguing and cause a scene and we are introduced to the guy who's name is Aahan. Solani being Solani, refuses to back down and continues to argue with him which almost gets them both thrown out. It's clear that both of the characters do have some kind of chemistry or bond between them. He already knew what she was thinking when she was drinking the frappuccino.

Also, they're really funny together because they both manage to wind each other up so much and Solani secretly checking him out whilst arguing is every girl in that situation, like I'm totally rooting for her right now. Aahan is a bit of a charmer; he's already asking to take her to dinner to give his side of the explanation which is more like an excuse for a date. You mentioned from Solani's point of view how Aahan is enjoying his time with her, well to be honest, Solani is pretty awesome so can you even blame him?

I love how the plot develops throughout the book. It's very well thought and planned out and it shows in your chapters as each one of them is very well constructed and I can see that you've put effort into them. Personally, I love how the plot is developing and how the themes of love and comedy grow within the chapters as well. The sacrcastic remarks and the little comments that the characters make are hilarious and only make the more book enjoyable to read as well.

Writing style

Your writing style is really good. I enjoyed reading your book and there were many reasons for this. First of all, the way you have written each chapter is amazing because every single one seems like it has effort put into it and it has all been well planned out.

You have used a broad range of vocabulary consistently throughout the chapters which made your writing less boring and made me want to read more and find out what could possibly happen next. I noticed that you have an editor for your book which is a good choice because I failed to spot any grammar, spelling, or punctuation mistakes so I'd say that they've done a good job there.

You have used descriptive language throughout your book such as personification and imagery when you're describing how the rain has no mercy on anyone and how it's playing an orchestra of beats. This lured me into the first chapter straight away because I was not expecting it yet I liked it very much. I can relate to the rain not having mercy on anyone seeing as it always seems to be raining here in England.

Characters

In terms of character development, I would say that it is very much early days for your characters as the plot has only just begun to build up and go somewhere, however, you have a done a good job with portraying your characters in a unique way.

Solani definitely comes across as the type of person who is well organised, has to have everything planned out and likes to follow her system. It's almost as if, if she doesn't follow her system, then she's going to have a bad day.

Her character is full of personality and I love how when she has her small outbursts she's full of energy and begins making sarcastic remarks and comments and her thoughts also show this. She has a very serious side but she's the type of person who you would start laughing at if they began to get angry with you because you just wouldn't be able to take them seriously.

Overall Impression

I really enjoyed reading the book because I feel as though you've put a lot of time, thought, and effort into your work and it shows. The development of your plot is good because you know where you're going with the book and it seems like it's heading in the right direction. Your characters are great and personally, I love Solani and the way she has been portrayed in the book. I totally and completely recommend this book to others.
