Love Letter Which Changed My Life @varmaRuddarraju

Title

The title for this book is quite long but interesting at the same time: Love Letter Which Changed My Life. From this title, at first I'm assuming that it's a cliche book because I've read enough books about love letters, so I have a feeling this could be one. However, at the same time I'm curious to know how this letter changed a character's life. I mean what could possibly be written in a love letter that somehow changes an entire life?

Cover

The cover is a very bright red with a pink undertone, I think, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me. I wouldn't know. You can faintly see the outline of hearts on the cover, and it has the title written in small text at the bottom. Personally, I feel like the title could be a little bigger in size, just so it is more clear to actually make out what the title says. The font for the title goes really well considering the book is about love letters. For the actual cover, I think you could do something a little more attractive, as it is quite plain.

Blurb

The blurb seems very cliche. It makes me think that the book is like one of them love at first sight stories, and I'm not really fond of them personally. There is nothing really in the blurb that interests me or makes me wonder what's going to happen next. I'm just given the names of the two main characters and told that they are in love. There are also some grammar errors in the blurb which are kind of putting me off already.

First Chapter

The first chapter was fairly standard as I'm introduced to the characters in the book: the twin sisters, Divya and Navya; and the two other characters miles away, Sunil and Arvind. I'm given some information about all the characters in the prologue and first chapter, such as the girls being identical twin sisters who have a strict father.

The prologue and first chapter were okay to read, but there was nothing in there that made me want to continue really. My first impression of finding out that Arvind was in love with one of the sisters made me think, "Here we go again, another love story." I can't say I was keen on continuing to read. However, I still did, of course, in order to review it.

Plot / Theme

I liked the plot of the book, and I was able to understand the cultural background of the characters as well when reading the book which did make it more of an enjoyable read for me. The plot is well-developed, and you've put thought into it; though, it's not something new or original. It's more like a plot based on reality about two people who fall in love and have to fight in order to be together.

There are so many barriers and challenges which they have to face emotionally and personally however, they manage to get through it all and be together. There were many plot twists and family secrets throughout the book which did shock me but made me curious at the same time.

Writing

Your writing is standard. You're able to form sentences so that's something, of course. However, there are many improvements that need to be made.

The main area is spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I'm not entirely sure how you managed to write the book without those three key factors because your writing was lacking so much punctuation, and there were several grammar and spelling mistakes. I feel more description could have been used throughout the book just to make it more interesting as it all seemed very generic.

Some feedback would be to please go over your work and edit your book or get it edited by someone because I feel like the lack of grammar, spelling, and punctuation really puts the book down for a reader.

Characters

The twin sisters, Divya and Navya, seemed like they had a really strong sisterly bond as they understand what each one of them were going through and how they felt but they supported one another. Despite what their father said to them about flirting with males and giving them attention, the girls kind of grow up to break down the barriers he's set for them and make lives of their own.

Sunil and Arvind seem like great characters as they are full of personality, funny and stupid jokes, and they also have a great bond as best friends; Sunil was there for Arvind right at the beginning and stuck by his side throughout the whole journey. I would say you've done a really good job with all your characters in terms of personality and the way they were portrayed throughout the book.

Overall Impression

The book is a great read as it not only shows the journey of two lovers but also covers the stigma associated with HIV, which one of the characters had, and it also looks into marriage and culture as associated with one another.

The twins had a strict father who didn't want them to be around males or have a love marriage, but the girls went on to break down the barriers and get married of their own choice. The book passes on many messages to others in a way, showing that anything is possible as long as you're willing to fight for it.

The only feedback I have for this book is that it majorly needs editing, but once that is done, it's a great read, and I would recommend this book to others.
