Chapter 45

Mabel's POV

"Wait, so everyone just referred to you as 'gay'?" Gideon asked. "Like that was all you were?"

"That was the problem of being openly gay in the 70's." Ford sighed.

"Anyways, let's stop interrupting him." I scowled, kicked a piece of debris. "Like, seriously, this story is pretty boring. I just want it to end already, so Gideon, nobody cares if you empathize just because you're gay, too."

"I never said I was gay!" Gideon furrowed his eyebrows. "Pansexual. I am P-A-N-S-E-X-U-A-L."

"What does that mean?" said Mr. Southeast. "Are you attracted to pans or something?"

"Even I know what pansexual means, and I was trapped in a portal." Ford sighed. "Anyways, back to the story. You can get out if you're that annoyed by my story."

I looked down, crossing my arms. "Sorry, you all will just have to deal with me.

"What do you mean, you kicked him out?" Ford demanded, slamming his fist on the table.

"He raised a knife to my throat." His father stated. "I don't care who he does raise a knife to, as long as it isn't me."

"So you kicked him out?"

"There were other reasons."

"What other reasons?"

"He was saying you were normal! Normal? Ha! He said you being attracted to men was 'natural', while it's just probably a side effect of being a rebellious teen."

"You can't just-"

"He was doing terrible in school, anyway, and he wouldn't have amounted to much, anyway. We don't need him, your mother has a baby to take over the family business and give us grandchildren, unlike..." His father jabbed his finger on Ford's forehead. "...you. You're going to college, and pretend to be straight at the very least until you grow out of this, and nothing is going to stop that."

There was no arguing at that point. He was glaring daggers at Stanford. and Ford knew he had no choice but to listen to his father.

While Ford got ready to attend college, Stan tried to make some sort of money for himself. He had never thought he would be kicked out, instead, he had hoped that he could just feed off his parents' illegally-acquired money for the rest of his life and live in luxury. However, he was now harshly thrown into reality.

He didn't have a job, he had always received a large allowance from his parents. He didn't have a place to stay, his only friend was his twin brother that was now gone. All he had, was his car, around five thousand dollars, some clothes, and some tapes and empty soda cans lying in the backseat.

At the same time Stan was driving around, trying to figure out what to do, Ford stood outside his dorm room at West Coast Tech, taking a deep breath. He could hear his roommate's footsteps inside, and he gulped.

Please don't be cute, please don't be cute, please-

Ford unlocked the door, and stepped into the room.

"Hello? I'm your new roommate, Stanford Southeast."

His roommate turned around, and he could see he had jinxed it by hoping his roommate wasn't cute, because to him, the man who was to be sharing a dorm with him was more beautiful than he could have ever imagined.

"Hello, I'm Fiddleford McGucket." He held out his hand for Ford to shake. He shook it.

Oh my god his hands are so softttttttttttt

"You don't call yourself Ford too, right?" Stanford asked.

"Nope, I'm just Fiddleford. But you can call me McGucket."

They both let go of each other's hands.

"I need some help opening the window, do you think you could help?"

"Sure." Ford smiled, as charmingly as he could. As he walked over to the window, his heart was afloat in feelings.

I know you can't make someone gay, but how do I in this case?

After a few years, Stan had managed to go jail in a couple different countries, trying to set up his own illegal crime empire like his parents but failing, while Ford and McGucket had managed to graduate with PhD's early and decided to go study anomalies after Ford thinking about his six-fingered hand. Many of the anomalies they found all seemed clustered around one point on a large map, right on the town on Gravity Falls, Oregon.

With money from his parents, Ford built a cabin to start researching. After a few strange experiences, he started to keep a journal-

"JOURNAL?" Mabel squealed.

"And I thought you said it was boring."

"Shut up!"

"JOURNAL!"

"Now you're the one interrupting."

"Damn you."

Past (3rd Person POV)

Ford and McGucket spent their days filling up the journals, and attempting to find mysteries and supernatural creatures where ever they went. Ford did his best to attempt to flirt with McGucket, until he got involved in a much more serious project. He had concluded to help him research, he would build a portal to cross different realms and discover where Gravity Falls' weirdness came from.

The time had come to test it, and once it was ready, an accident happened.

McGucket was accidentally sucked part way into the portal, instead of the dummy like planned. His head had gone in, but when Ford had pulled him out, he was muttering strange things, gibberish that didn't make sense, until he sat up.

"When Gravity Falls and earth becomes sky, fear the beast with just one eye."

"McGucket? You aren't making any sense!"

"This machine is dangerous." Fiddleford said, haze clearing away from his eyes. "We can't go through with this. We need to destroy it, now!'

"Please, Fiddleford, after all we worked for? This is our achievement, a notable event in our lives. We can't just leave it after all we did."

"I fear we've unleashed a grave danger on the world." McGucket stood up. "One I'd just as soon forget. I quit!"

As he walked away, Ford grabbed his arm.

"Please, Fiddleford, stay! Reconsider." Tears started to roll down Ford's cheeks. "I can't just let you leave. I love you."

"I'm sorry, but I don't return your feelings. At least, I can't for someone who would rather sacrifice the world than his pride." McGucket pulled away from Ford, both their cheeks burning as red as tomatoes.

As his footsteps echoed in the basement, Ford sank to the ground, his fingernails scraping against the cement. His sobbing bounced across the walls, as he felt rage burn in his stomach.

"Fine." He whispered, mostly to himself. "I don't need you, I have someone else. You didn't deserve my love, and I'll make you regret this."

He giggled a little, before bursting out in laughter.

"We don't need him, Will, do we? We don't need him at all."

He continued to laugh, pounding his fist on the floor.

"He's just another useless human, that doesn't understand, isn't he?"

Silence.

"You're right, Will. I should get a drink of water. I don't know how you can stand to cry all the time if it feels like this."

He stood up, walking to the elevator, and going upstairs. McGucket hadn't bothered to take any of his belongings, so Ford kicked over a box of Fiddleford's clothes while walking to the sink. As he took a cup, there was a knock on the door.

I guess he came crawling back, huh?, he thought, just can't live without me.

But he didn't need him. McGucket had betrayed him. What if he had gone to the police, or called the government?

"You were right, Will, I shouldn't have trusted him." He picked up a crossbow from the couch, and loaded an arrow, then slowly crept towards the door.

He opened the door to peek out, then slammed it open forcibly, pointing his crossbow at the human's head in front of him.

"Have you come to steal my eyes?!" Ford demanded, when suddenly, he realized who was there.

"Well, I can always count on you for a warm welcome." Stan sighed.
