Chapter 18

Mabel

I walked down Gopher Road, humming.
"I can't decide whether you should live or die..." I kept humming it over and over. "Oh, you'll probably go to heaven, please don't hang your head and cry, don't wonder why."
I took a knife out of my pocket and watched it glisten in the setting sun's rays. "My heart is dead inside, cold and hard and petrified."
I came upon the long driveway leading up to the Mystery Shack. "Lock the doors, close the blinds, we're going for a ride."

"Stan Southeast."
I walked inside the gift shop as the last tour group of the day exited.
"Look kid, if you want to do some spying on me, you'll have to do some later. Shack is closed, now get out." Stan said, picking up a fallen postcard. "Yikes, my back is too old for all of this."
"Sorry, but you must be misunderstood. I'm not here to spy on you,"
I took four knives out of the inside of my skirt and put them between my fingers.
"I'm here to kill you."
"Wait, what?" Stan turned around as I whipped the knives at him. He managed to jump out of the way, all the knives wedging between the wooden boarded walls.
I took out more knives to throw, and chucked them at him again. He dodged them and ran to the door that said Employees Only and through it.
I ran after him, through the living room to the hallway to outside, which was his biggest mistake. From here on the porch, I could get a clear shot at him running down the driveway.
I took aim at him, my wrist ready to snap the knives through his head, when  my mind suddenly grew cloudy. My arms started to shake, and every moment I stood sweat gathered on my forehead.
"Mabel, don't!"
Dipper's voice snapped me out of my concentration, and my knees buckled. I collapsed against a pole holding up the porch roof, and Dipper ran up to me.
"Sister! I told you if you exerted yourself without the amulet..."
"Must... kill Stan Southeast." I mumbled, as I felt my consciousness begin to waver. The knives dropped out of my hands.
"No, you aren't fit for that now. You have to wait until Will finds a new amulet."
"B-but..."
"No. We need to go home and rest. How about some ice cream?"
"Y-yeah..."
"There's a lot of ice cream at home. Come along. I'll arrange for our limousine driver to pick us up."

Gideon

Me and Pacifica watched as Dipper helped Mabel down to the road, where he started to call someone on his smartphone.
"Kids!" Grunkle Stan came running out of the forest. "You won't believe it! That  Pines girl tried to kill me!"
He took a seat on the torn, orange couch on the porch.
"Are you okay, Grunkle Stan? Is there anything we can get you?" Pacifica asked.
"Just make sure every door and window is locked tonight. And every night after that." He said. "And promise me you won't go near those kids." He pointed to Dipper and Mabel.
"Yes, Grunkle Stan." Me and Pacifica both nodded.
"Let's just go inside. I'm tired from that running." Grunkle Stan stood up, and we went inside.

Dipper

Me and Mabel returned home to our mansion, and I put her on the couch with blankets, Netflix, and ice cream. She was slowly regaining her energy.
"I can't go on like this. I need that amulet back." Mabel groaned, as she stabbed the pint of frozen ice cream with her spoon. "Why did you let them escape?"
"You kidnapped Pacifica. You know I like her." I said.
"Fine, I won't kidnap her." Mabel rolled her eyes, as Will came rushing in and excitedly bobbed in mid-air.
"M-master! I found an amulet! T-two, actually!"
Will held out the two amulets, one was just a regular blue gem, and the other was attached to a ring.
"Wonderful work, Will. No knife practice tonight." I took the amulets. I put the ring one in my pocket for the time being and I gave the other to Mabel, which she fastened onto her empty headband.
"I feel much better." She closed her eyes and sighed blissfully. "Thank you, Will."
"Will, since you have been good and found two amulets, I have a reward." I said, and I motioned for Will to follow me into the hallway, and I lowered my voice so Mabel wouldn't hear. "You can enter the mind of Pacifica Southeast one day early."
"S-so I can go in it tonight?" Will asked.
"Yes. Remember, I want to know what was her worst fear, the one she saw when she looked into the eyes of the Gremloblin."
"Y-yes, master. T-thank you master!" He held out his hand and a blue flame appeared in it. "J-just shake it and I can go in her mind!"
I held out my hand and shook his, engulfing my arm in the blue flame, which disappeared after we were done shaking. Will floated away, and I sighed as I took a picture of Pacifica out of my pocket.
"Don't worry, Pacifica, this is all for you." I smiled. "I just want to protect you from whatever you are scared of."

Gideon

"That's a lot of stickers." I said, as Pacifica stuck a strawberry scratch-and-sniff sticker on her face.
"Yeah! I'm trying to beat my..." Suddenly, she dropped the sticker sheet and passed out cold onto her bed.
"Guess it's been a tiring day." I closed up Journal 3, that I had been writing in about the crystals, and turned off the lights. "Night, Pacifica."

Pacifica

When I woke up in my dreams, I expected there to be the usual, puppies and rainbows. Instead, I saw a blue triangle floating around in a hallway, then opening a door that was padlocked, but all the chains enveloping it fell away with ease.
Suddenly, I was burst into the same nightmare as when I looked in the Gremloblin's eyes. It was the same, except there was more at the end because nobody was waking me up.
When the blue flames rose up when Dipper put the blue ring on my finger, I heard him laugh.
"You're like us now, Pacifica. For now and eternity."

I woke with a start, sitting up sharply. My breathing was harsh and I could feel tears running down my cheeks as I held a stuffed toy to my chest.
"Just a nightmare Pacifica, just a nightmare." I tried to reassure myself. "Dipper is a nice guy. Just a nightmare. Weird, stupid nightmare."
As I started to lay back down, I swore I saw a triangle-shaped shadow pass by the wall, and that kept me up all night. I couldn't sleep, but this time, it wasn't the Pacifica juice.
