She Was There

Requested by @kanna_kurrosawa hope all of you enjoy!

Pacifica's phone rang suddenly, making her jump. She looked at the caller and smiled slightly. It was Dipper. Although they had their ups and downs, he always came through. "Hey Dipper." She said, as she answered.

"Pazzie." Dipper whined, and his voice sounded hoarse.

Pacifica blinked in confusion, what happened. "Dipper? You alright?"

"I'm sick! Thank you very much." He sighed loudly, and very dramatically.

She rolled her eyes. "How was I supposed to know that it could get you sick?" Even though she couldn't see him, she could tell that he was shrugging. "What do you need?"

The other end of the phone was quiet for a second. "I need soup."  He finally said.

It took Pacifica a minute to realize what he said. "Soup?" She repeated.

"Yeah!" He whined.

"Can't you just.....make some appear by using your amulet?" She asked, sighing.

The line was silent for another minute. "No!" He sounded extremely tired and sick. "I want to see you Pazzie. Is that bad?"

She sighed, "no, I guess not."

"So you're coming to see me?" He said, sounding perkier?

"Dipper! It's four in the morning!" Pacifica groaned. "I'm not leaving my house so I can bring you soup at four!"

"But Pazzie....." He sighed.

"Why didn't you ask Mabel to do that?" She asked, rubbing her eyelids.

He scoffed. "I did."

"Really? What'd she say?" She asked, putting on a pair of flip flops.

"........" He sighed. "I didn't ask her because my family deserted me! They're gone, Pazzie! Gone!" And he was back to being dramatic again.

"Do you want your soup or not?" Pacifica finally asked.

"No, I've only been asking for it, for five minutes." He said, sarcastically.

"I'll take that as a yes." Pacifica finally claimed. "I'll be over in thirty minutes."

"That's too long!" He sounded frustrated, just like a child.

"I have to get the soup, and then drive to your house. That's pretty quick to me." She said, as she grabbed her keys out of the bowl. She opened the front door, phone in hand still listening to Dipper complain. "Look, I'm on my way so please shush."

"Don't hang up!"

"I'm supposed to drive! I can't focus with your voice in my head." She explained.

"Then put me on speaker and listen!"

"Fine, God you're such a demanding child." She sighed, feeling the drowsiness start to take over.

"I am no such thing."

Pacifica laughed quietly. "Sure Dipper. Sure."

                                                   ***
"...so then I called you." Dipper had been talking non-stop ever since Pacifica answered her phone, which now she realized was a mistake.

"Wow, you've had an interesting four hours." Pacifica rolled her eyes. She was used to him talking, but not at four in the morning. She had picked up the soup already, and was on her way to the Gleeful Manor, where she knew Dipper would be waiting.

"I definitely-You're being sarcastic aren't you?" He said, once he caught on.

"Mhm." She replied.

"Have you been using sarcasm the entire time!?" He asked, sounding a little shocked, and like a twelve year old boy going through puberty. Well that's what it sounded like when his voice cracked.

"......no." she lied.

"Pazzie!!!" He whined some more.

"I'm almost there just give me a minute." She said as she hung up. She let out an exasperated sigh and continued driving to the Gleeful Manor.

                                                  ***

She opened the front door and looked around. It was dark inside the Manor, she had expected everyone to be awake because of Dipper's complaining. She heard a noise in the middle of the room and she jumped, turning on her phone flashlight and shining it on the area where she heard the noise. Standing there, was Mabel Gleeful. "Mabel?" Pacifica asked, looking at her confused. "Dipper said you weren't home...."

"Shh!" Mabel hissed. "I don't want him to know that I'm home."

"Why?" Pacifica asked.

"Because....." she took a step closer to Pacifica and whispered, "he's sick."

"So??" Pacifica asked, again.

Mabel sighed and shook her head. "Will you ever stop asking questions? The point being, I had to take care of him all the time when he was sick," she quickly grabbed her keys off of a hook and walked past Pacifica, "now it's your turn."

"No no no no no." Pacifica muttered, running after Mabel, but she was already out the door. And Pacifica had to figure this out for herself. Something creaked by the staircase and Pacifica turned her gaze towards the spiralling staircase. With her phone flashlight, she saw what looked like a big blob of black, coming down the stairs, except this blob was saying "Mabel! I need soup!" Pacifica sighed and walked over to the blob and pulled the blanket from him. Dipper looked at her like she was crazy, and snatched the blanket back, huddling in it. He stumbled over to the couch and laid down. "You're strange." She managed to mumble when she sat down next to him. She brushed some hair out of his face and sighed. "What am I going to do with you?"

"Get me soup." He replied , trying to smile.

"I brought it." Pacifica replied, handling him a cup of soup. "Happy, now?"

"Maybe." He said and she sighed again. "You know what I love about Hannah? Her sense of humor." Pacifica looked at him like he was crazy. Her pet chicken? Dipper didn't like Hannah at all. He always said that Hannah took her away from him.

"That's nice. I'll tell her." Pacifica sighed again and she thought she should count how many times she sighed today. "Dipper eat your soup and call me later." She said as she walked to the door.

"Wait!" Dipper yelled.

Pacifica winced and turned around. "What?"

"......I want grilled cheese."

                                                  ***

Dipper sat on the couch watching one of those crappy tv shows you see all the time, one hand held a tissue, the other held a grilled cheese sandwich. He slowly took a bite of it, "thanks Pazzie."

"No problem, Dip." Pacifica yawned. She was so tired, and tired of Dipper's silly requests. "You good now?"

He nodded, but right when she stood up to leave, he cried out. "Wait! Don't leave yet!"

"Why?" She asked.

"Stay with me." He pleaded. "Please?"

Pacifica pondered the thought, if she stayed she would be with Dipper, with a chance of getting sick. Or go home right now and get questioned by Gideon and deal with Cody. "Alright." She said, sitting on the couch next to him. "But if you get me sick-"

"I won't." He mumbled, hugging her. "Thanks for helping me Pazzie."

"Well it's not like I had a choice." She joked. Dipper laughed and Pacifica felt safe with him, even if he was sick, she felt safer and happier with him. And Dipper could definitely say the same.
