Adrien P.O.V.

"Adrien, wake up," Nathalie said softly from behind my bedroom door, "School starts in less than an hour." 

I opened my eyes, and sat up, following the same routine I do everyday. Plagg, still asleep on my pillow, rustled a bit, but didn't awaken. I smiled at him and moved slowly out of my bed, sliding on my plain, white slippers given to me by Father. 

"I'm up, Nathalie. I'll be out shortly," I replied, keeping my voice as low as possible as to not wake up the sleeping kwami. Footsteps sounded outside the door, but faded away, so I assumed she heard me and left.

TIME SKIP

"...Then you'll have fencing at 16:00 (A/N Four o' clock in the afternoon for us Americans) and after that it'll be a short photoshoot for Mr. Agreste's new Avant Guarde line. Understood, Adrien?" Nathalie asked, standing next to me as I finished my breakfast.

I sighed and nodded my head, "Yes, Nathalie." 

She then looked over at the Gorilla and nodded, which meant it was time for my ride to school. So, I stood up, wiping my mouth with the cloth, and walked out the door.

One of Father's silver cars was waiting for me, and I got in - still same as usual. 

Then, a small sneeze came from inside my jacket pocket - where Plagg was hiding - and the Gorilla looked at me questioningly. I quickly snuffled my nose, "Excuse me."

He seemed to buy it after not saying anything, and turning around to drive. I sighed in relief.

We pulled up to my high school, Francois Du Pont, and a smile grew on my lips. I quickly grabbed my school bag, said good bye to the Gorilla, and hopped out the car.

Waiting for me was Nino, my best friend. He stood at the base of the front staircase, patiently smiling. I walked over to him and we fist-bumped.

"Hey, dude!" He said, lightly lifting his cap.

"Hi, Nino!" I replied, then looked around us quickly. "Is, um, you-know-who here?" He looked at me, confused, for a second, then laughed.

"Oh, I know what you mean, and yes, she's right there," Nino answered, pointing behind me. I froze and felt my heart speed up. He smiled a knowing smile, making my face turn hot.

"Hey, guys!" An all-too-familiar voice said from behind me. I turned around quickly to see Marinette and Alya nearing us, both waving their hands in the air. Nino walked up to my side and gave them a silent 'Sup?' with a nod of his head. He then nudged me with his elbow, making me release the breath I didn't even know I was holding.

"Hey, girls" I said, rubbing the area Nino had elbowed me, "What's up?" Alya shrugged and Marinette giggled in response, giving me time to stare.

She had her hair the same as always, two blue pigtails, but she never failed to stand out beautifully. The way she laughs even gives me butterflies, corny as it is.

Seconds later her gaze fell upon me, and I quickly turned my head to Nino, praying to God she didn't see me staring. My cheeks grew hot and I knew I was caught red handed. A loud laugh escaped Nino and I glared at him, still avoiding Marinette's eye contact.

"Is...everything okay, Adrien?" Marinette asked, and I finally turned and looked at her. Marinette's head was tilted and she looked confused and a little concerned. "Oh, your face is all hot and red! Do you have a fever?" She then placed her hand on my forehead.

This, of course, didn't help one bit. For when she placed her hand on me, my face turned even hotter and I could almost see how red I was becoming. 

"No, I...um...I'm fine, thanks," I replied, taking deep breaths to cool off as best I could. She pursed her lips and made a face that gave off the impression of doubt. Then I smiled and laughed, as a way to assure her I was okay.

She sighed, "Well okay, just don't come to me crying if you start feeling sick." Marinette winked and placed her hands on her hips playfully. All the while Nino and Alya were whispering and giggling to each other as Marinette and I talked. I rolled my eyes at them and looked at her again. She was smiling, and seemed to be awaiting a response.

I realized she was waiting for me, so I nervously said, "Oh, haha, right..." 

Oh good job, Agreste! She was actually making conversation with you and all you do is answer like that? She's probably soooo weirded out by me right now! I thought inside my head as I just stood in front of Marinette looking away. The tension was growing and I pleaded with my eyes to Nino for a little help.

It took a while for him to notice but when he did he said, "So! What'd ya think of Ladybug and Chat Noir's Akuma battle? Pretty wicked, right?" I so desperately wanted to face palm, but refrained myself from doing so.

When I looked back at Marinette she was holding her hands together, her face was all rosy, and she was smiling a sort of smile I've never seen before. 

"Chat Noir...He's pretty furrrific, don't you think?" She asked, her voice sounding dazed. I blushed and stared at her in confusion as she just looked off in the distance, face pink, and voice hazy.

"W-What was that?" I asked her, leaning forward a bit. My question seemed to snap her back to reality, because her eyes widened and she jumped back a little. Marinette's face became a light shade of red and she blinked several times. 

"I...um...Well you see-" Marinette began but was cut off by the sound of a nearby scream. We both looked up to see a giant elephant walking down the street toward Francois Du Pont, a man in a ring leader's uniform on top. The elephant was no normal elephant, but instead it's tusks were the size of two ships and it was almost as tall as the Eiffel Tower. No doubt another Akuma attack.

I furrowed my brows and excused myself from the conversation, as did Marinette - who said something about forgetting something at home. (Typical Marinette.) 

I ran around the building into an alley where no one was and yelled, "Plagg, Claws Out!"

(A/N Sorry for not posting yesterday!! Something really bad happened within my family and I was not able to post this chapter. But today I was able to get it out there so here it is! I hope you like it so far, and don't worry, it will get wayyyyyy more interesting as the story plays out. Right now I'm just formally introducing the love square and all that.
