Chapter 7
*CHLOE'S POV*
The date with Jason in itself could've been worse, but Jason on the other hand, was boring, laughed at his own jokes and was embarrassing to be seen with. As the night dragged on, I found myself wishing I was at home, just hanging out, or having a girls night with Morgann.
"I just couldn't believe the fact I got into Oxford!" Jason laughed, his face lighting up.
"Yeah." I smiled, faking every bit of it.
Jason was cute, don't get me wrong, but I'm not so shallow that that's all I look for in a guy. If he doesn't have a good personality, or can't carry a conversation, then he's not even an option.
Once again, my mind reminded me that Louis was the perfect combination of everything I wanted in a guy, but I told that voice inside my head to shut up. It had to be the millionth time my mind had wandered to him that night, and I was so done with it.
"Do you want to order a dessert?" Jason asked, snapping me from my thoughts.
"Oh, gosh, I'm just so full." I lied, patting my stomach for emphasis. In reality, I just couldn't stand for this night to go on any longer.
I longingly glanced over at Morgann and Hunter, enjoying their date and laughing together. I always knew they would end up together. It was just a matter of time for them, but I feel as if nothing will ever happen for me, and I'll end up a single former celebrity forever.
"I can drive you home if you want." Jason told me, standing up and leaving a tip on the table.
"That's alright. It's only a few blocks to my apartment." I said, following him outside.
"Okay, if you're sure. Be safe."
"Yeah, you too." I sighed.
"Maybe we can hang out again." He offered.
I didn't say anything, just shrugged and walked off. It was pitch black outside, but the streets were lit up brightly, and busy with people. I sighed in defeat and slumped down on a park bench. My heels were pinching my feet, my dress was becoming too tight around my stuffed stomach and this had been the worst date of my life.
A cars bright headlights blinded me, but once my eyes adjusted to the light, I saw Morgann in the passenger seat and smiled. I climbed into the backseat of the car, welcoming the heat wafting through the vents.
"That bad?" Morgann asked.
"He was so horrible and boring." I groaned, closing my eyes.
"Don't worry I think I have a way of cheering you up." Hunter said, his blue eyes sparkling.
"What do you mean?" I replied, leaning forward in my seat.
"Are you talking about the party?" Morgann asked him.
"Yeah." He answered.
"What party?" I interjected.
"My frat is throwing a huge party Saturday night, and anyone is welcome. I figured what you needed was a fun night to just get drunk, play a stupid frat game, then stumble home with Morgann." He laughed.
"You know...that doesn't sound half bad." I said, smiling.
~~~
"No, no, no. You need to look as slutty as possible, it's a college party." Morgann told me, throwing a pair of low-cut, very short, shorts on my bed with a tiny crop-top.
"I don't want to look like I dance on bars for a living, Morgann." I replied, placing a regular pair of shorts and an acceptable shirt over her choice.
"Oh, come on. It's one night, please." She begged, her eyes getting big.
"No. I don't want guys to think I'm 'easy'." I said, standing my ground.
"Chloe."
"What?" I demanded.
"You know they won't think that." She told me.
On the inside, I knew she was right so I gave up and put on the inappropriate clothing. The crop top was bright colors and would probably catch the attention of some people, and it made what was left of my tan, pop. The shorts were short, but they could've been worse I guess. I ended up pulling my hair up into a messy ponytail and slipping on some red Vans.
The doorbell rang and I jumped off the bed where I had been waiting for Morgann. While she was taking her sweet time getting ready, I had invited Luke and his girlfriend, Kalie, along.
"I'll get it!" I screamed at Morgann, running downstairs.
I swung the door open and smiled at Luke and Kalie. I gave Luke a hug and then gave his girlfriend one too. I had never met her before, but she was so much prettier than what I got from Luke describing her: she had long blonde hair, beautiful green eyes, and a gorgeous smile. It was easy to see why Luke liked her so much, and I hadn't even talked to her yet.
"Hi, I'm Chloe." I smiled, shaking Kalie's hand.
"I'm Kalie." She replied as I invited them inside.
"I've heard tons about you." I told her.
"Nah, I don't like her that much." Luke lied, laughing when she tried to punch him.
Wonderful, yet another relationship to be jealous of.
"That's quite an outfit, Chloe." He said.
"Thanks, Morgann picked it out." I answered, calling for Morgann.
She came downstairs and said hello to Luke and Kalie. I checked to make sure there was a spare key under the mat, and that everything was turned off before taking my keys off the table and heading towards the car.
"Just follow us. Hunter's frat is only ten minutes away." I said to Luke, getting in my car and pulling out onto the road.
We drove the distance to Hunter's frat in under ten minutes, and climbed out of our cars, only to step on red cups. It had been a while since my last real college party, and I was looking forward to meeting some new people.
"Morgann!!"
I turned around and laughed when I saw a very drunk Hunter stumbling towards us.
"Okay, buddy." Morgann giggled as he collapsed on her shoulder, almost knocking her down.
I led Luke and Kalie inside and we split up. I walked in the direction of the kitchen to grab myself a drink and they went to find the living room. I walked in the kitchen, only to find a hue group of guys and girls standing around, sharing stories, and laughing.
I held my breath as I passed everyone and hoped that they wouldn't notice me, but I was disappointed when some football player whistled at me.
"What's up, cutie!" He shouted.
I ignored him and grabbed a beer from the cooler. I leaned up against the back of the sink and sipped the drink until I was bored of "people watching".
"Not having fun?"
I looked over to find a very attractive guy staring at me, waiting for me to answer.
"No. I haven't been to a party in a while, so maybe I just need to loosen up." I sighed, finishing my beer.
"I'm Noah."
"Chloe."
We both just kind of sat there, looking at each other, before he stood up and handed me another beer.
"Thanks." I smiled, following him out into the living room.
"Just let loose." He yelled over the music.
A few beers later, I was out of control; I was dancing all over guys and throwing pictures off the mantle. I drunk dialed Louis on accident, seeing as he was still my number one on speed dial.
"Chloe?"
His voice sounded distance as I giggled and sipped some more beer. My head was getting fuzzy and everything was slowly fading...for the better.
"Heyyyy." I slurred.
"Are you drunk?" He asked.
"Only...only a little bitty bit." I laughed.
"Are you okay?" He replied.
"Yeah, dad. I'm fine. God."
"Where are you?"
"I don't know." I sighed, leaning to see the numbers on the mailbox and almost falling. "Some frat house. The numbers on the box thingy are 4987."
Louis hung up and I hiccuped, looking for Noah.
~~~
Is he gonna save her drunk booty?
Idk.
