“ when you said hi i forgot my dang name “ | CH. ELEVEN
---it was an ordinary day. The Holidays have just drawled on and now it was the start of a new year. Asteria perked as she fixed her bonnet, dazzling herself with a small concealment charm as few scars on her skin begin to evaporate. She looked at herself in the mirror one more time before nodding to herself, deciding it was suitable enough for Hogsmeade.
She smiled at her friends as she saw them waiting for her by the Gryffindor Common Room. As always, Dorcas was the first to spot her. Jumping from her seat before engulfing her in a warm hug.
"God I missed you!" She whispered just by Asteria's ear, making the girl smile in contentment.
"We saw each other yesterday," Asteria chuckled making the girl puff out her cheeks.
---when they; Dorcas, Asteria and Marlene, arrived at Hogsmeade. Asteria couldn't help but notice one of them was missing.
"Where's Lily?" She asked.
"Probably fooling around with her boyfriend." Marlene giggled. Finding it ironic how Lily finally fell into the clutches of the persistent boy.
"Lily has a boyfriend?" Asteria whispered under her breath.
"Asteria you've been here for a few months, try to keep up." Dorcas chuckled.
"I'm sorry! I tend to be slow at times. . ." She trailed off, looking to her right to avoid any future teasings the two might throw at her. It was a bit hard when Lily was not here. She'd usually scold Dorcas or Marlene or both whenever they'd tease Asteria.
"Speaking of Lily," Marlene smirked, gesturing towards one of the shops. There stood Lily looking through one of the books of the shop as a boy stood beside her, smiling as Lily showed him something from the piece of literature in her hands.
"They looks so cute together!" Dorcas squealed from beside her.
"Even Lily's stubbornness can't stop the soulmates' bond." Marlene smiled.
"Makes me wonder who mine would be. What I'd give to the gods just to let Remus be my soulmate!" Dorcas sighed desperately. Making Asteria feel a tad bit guilty by the sudden declaration. Seeing as Remus was her prime suspect on her list of possible soulmates, which isn't really that long. "But alas, there isn't a trace of a tattoo in his hand. Perhaps, it's hidden on his leg? I should go ask him!"
Marlene rolled her eyes at the brunette, "when will you accept the fact that Remus isn't your soulmate?"
"Until I see mine! Or his, which ever comes first." Dorcas shrugged.
"You guys," Asteria started, wrapping her arms around the two girls, "we came to Hogsmeade to have fun, not talk about soulmates. Now come on, I heard they're selling new batches of chocolate frogs in Honeydukes and I am not about to miss it."
It was Dorcas' turn to roll her eyes, "fine." She huffed but couldn't help but let a small smile break out on her features.
---meanwhile, as the three walk off to Honeydukes, two others were also wandering off the small village in a hurry.
"Remind me again, why are we spying on James and Lily?" Peter huffed out, exhausted. Being cramped in a small space with Sirius was not how he imagined his weekend would turn out.
"Research purposes," Sirius answered simply. "Remus, hand me the binoculars." He said, holding out his hand.
A few moments later, nothing happened and Sirius grew irritated. "Remus?" He called out, looking behind him just to see an exhausted Peter catching his breath. "Where the hell is Remus?"
"He. . . Went to. . . Honeydukes," he said in between breaths, "something about restocking?"
Sirius sighed in distress as once again, his plan to spy on his friend's date was ruined.
"Can we go to Honeydukes please?" Peter huffed out.
"Fine," Sirius grumbled. "At least we can finally go around without this smelly thing." He said, taking off the invisibility cloak. "James needs to wash this more." He added in disgust, folding it up and placing it inside of Peter's bag.
---"look at all these chocolates!" Asteria exclaimed, eyes filled with wonder at the many kinds of chocolates that filled the store.
Remus' head snapped up as he followed the sound of the voice. In the entrance, were three girls. He already knew who the two were but he couldn't exactly put his finger on the other one. He remembered her in the train but what was her name?
He silently panicked when they were making their way towards his direction. The girl looking up to the shelves whilst the other two followed her from behind.
Shit, shit, shit. He thought to himself, not really knowing what to do and why he was panicking. God, what is wrong with me?
"Remus!" Dorcas called out, causing the young lad to snap out of his daze. He smiled warmly as usual as he approached the trio.
"Hey Dorcas, Marls and?" He asked, turning to the girl with his hand extended for her. Real smooth, Remus. He thought to himself, internally facepalming at his pathetic form of introduction.
"Asteria, Asteria Williams," she said. Taking his hand and slightly shaking it. Remus noticed her hand was a bit rough, unlike most girls. Yet, he found himself holding on to it longer than usual. He hesitantly took his hand off as he scratched the back of his neck. "We met in the train."
"Right, I remember that. I'm Remus by the way, Remus Lupin." He said, "but I guess you already knew that since we met at the train." He added, avoiding eye contact. Asteria chuckled at the flustered boy.
Remus couldn't help but let his eyes land on her blissful face. "Yup, that's you... Dorcas talks about you a lot."
"Hey!" Dorcas retorted in the background. Remus didn't mind, he was too lovestruck at the moment to let anything ruin his mood.
His eyes suddenly wandered to the scar by her jaw, his hand subconsciously touching the identical one he had as well. Suddenly he remembered what happened in the trains as well. "Where did you ge-"
"Remus! You sneaky git, where the hell are you?" A voice exclaimed. Remus frowned as he turned to see Sirius by the entrance with Peter trailing behind him.
"Fiddlesticks!" Remus muttered under his breath. Causing Asteria to chuckle lightly at his choice of words. And once again, Remus felt enslaved by her.
"Well it looks like your friends are here, I better get going. Those chocolate frogs don't buy themselves, you know?" Asteria said, smiling at the boy. "Let's talk some other time, Remus."
"Of course," he said smiling as she walked passed him to the Chocolate Frogs aisle.
Remus, you fucking idiot.
