" suddenly, i was a lilac sky " | CH. NINE

---the sky slowly turned a deep shade of blue as the day drawled on. The stars fairly illuminating the sky whilst bits of snow continued pouring down. It was almost eight, only a few more hours until Christmas came.

The Williams family, along with Imogen and Louis, laughed the night away as they exchanged stories and played games in the Kitchen.

"Why are you like this?" Imogen muttered under her breath, her head resting on her palms as she contained her laughter as Louis continued to make a took out of himself. Still, she couldn't help but chuckle at his antics. She finally pulled her head up then turned to Asteria.

"How did you manage to live with this doofus?" She asked the girl jokingly.

Asteria let out a slow chuckle, "you'll get use to it," she said, "he is your soulmate after all. You'll have to put up with him forever!" She couldn't help but felt sour as she said those words.

Imogen laughed lightly and boy did it sounded calming. Asteria didn't know what it was about her that made her feel at ease. If only she didn't have a small crush on her friend, she'd probably be enjoying herself right now. For her, Imogen had a certain aura that could easily attract everyone. She couldn't help but feel jealous.

"It's finally eight am, and you know what that means!" Asteria's father exclaimed as he stood up.

Imogen frowned in confusion, "what does eight am mean?"

"It's the time we watch Christmas movies together. You can't celebrate Christmas without watching corny Christmas movies." Asteria answered, slowly warming up to the girl.

"I've got the popcorn!" Asteria's mom announced with two bowls of popcorn on her hands.

"To the living room!" Louis declared childishly.

---meanwhile the holidays weren't doing anything good for Remus. He was exhausted, weak, as he trudged around the fields of his house.

Merlin knows how badly he wanted to celebrate Christmas with his family. But with the full moon happening tomorrow, he couldn't help but worry not for himself, but for his family.

He sighed as he found himself walking to the nearest town. There, he saw several stores and houses lit up with decorations.

He continued moving forward, not really knowing where he was going. He didn't want to the town often. One reason being, his scars.

He was always insecure about them. Due to his furry little problem, he gave up on thinking he had a soulmate. He's read a lot of books concerning it but her never knew what his mark was.

He didn't have words embedded on his skin like Sirius, a tattoo like James, nor did he had the the ability to feel the same way as his soulmate like what Peter has.

That was until the dream. Suddenly, his pathetic didn't seem that bad anymore. He had hope that somewhere in this world, his soulmate was waiting for him as he was for her.

He stopped by what seemed like the park, he sat on one of the trees as he leaned on its trunk to look up to glance at the stars.

---"but I don't want a bear!"

The boy in the tv yelled. It was the second movie of the night, only few minutes left till Christmas.

"I'll get more popcorn," Imogen told her and Louis as she took the bowl and went away.

Asteria then turned to her friend who was the watching the girl walk off with a smile. She couldn't help but grin as she saw how happy her friend was.

Louis turned back to her, "I feel nervous."

She chuckled at him, "don't worry, you got this in the bag!" She said, offering him a close-eyed smile with two thumbs up.

He laughed at her, "thanks Ria, only a few minutes before Christmas."

"Only a few minutes before you get a girlfriend." She said, encouraging him much further, causing the boy to smile gratefully at her.

As if on cue, Imogen came back with an overflowing bowl of popcorn.

Just like that, the three of them became quiet again. The movie played in the background as the soft snores of Asteria's parents filled the room.

"Holy Cheese!" Imogen suddenly exclaimed, "pause the movie, Christmas is only in a few seconds!"

"I need to wake mom and dad!" Asteria scrambled away from the couch to the two snoring couple. The two fluttered their eyes open while Louis yelled, "Ten Seconds!"

Suddenly, the two stood up from their couch to join the trio in counting down.

"Five. . . Four. . . Three. . . Two. . . One!"

"Hap-" Asteria turned to Louis, only to see him with Imogen. Her heart broke when she saw the two of them leave the living room.

She sighed as she turned to her parents, who were looking at her with sad smiles.

"Is it okay if I head out for a while?" Asteria asked, her mom nodded.

She quickly walked to the coat rack next to their door to take her jacket. Once she got it, she left.

---two people stayed on the other sides of the park. One sat on a bench while the other leaned on the trunk of a tree. The both of them oblivious of the person not too far from them.

The boy looked down his watch to see the time. Meanwhile, the girl whipped some of her tears with the sleeve of her jacket.

There's always a rainbow after every storm. She thought to herself as she looked up. Both their eyes trained to the freckled sky as they smiled.

"Happy Christmas, Soulmate."
