Within 24 to 48 hours....

The day was finally here... the day
when fate of Amir was about to
be decided by Court. Siddharth shut
the file of the new contract that he got
from one of his old partner. He was
happy that people were supporting
him as a new CEO of the company as
well as trusting him enough to have
partnerships.

His phone buzzed and he read the
message from Jan.

Jan💕

I am sorry Sid..., i am still out of
station with Faisu.... I will see
you in evening. And don't worry
everything will be fine....Take my
blessing.....

A small smile formed on his lips on the thought that at least his best friend got the person who actually cares for her and is happy. He put his phone in his pocket.

He sighed softly as he put that file on
side and grabbed his coat to go to the
court. He was not sad, he was afraid..
too much afraid of what will happen
in the court, what the judge will decide for his father. He wasn't ready to let him go yet. He wanted to be a bit
happier but seems like his luck was
playing with him.

Abhi: Ready.....he heard his voice at the doorway and silently nodded. Abhi patted his shoulder, a gesture saying that everything will be ok, however both were aware that it can't be.

Judge: According to all the proofs and the statement of Amir nigam..., it's obvious that he is the culprit for the murder of Nandras.....he said and grabbed his pen to write down the final verdict.

Sid was just staring at his father who had his eyes low, in shame. Abhi slightly pressed his palm over Sid's shaking one.

Abhi: sid...calm down please.....

Siddharth bit his lip in response, his legs were shaking furiously same as his hands

Sid: i am so scared dada.... what if-.....

Judge: in the light of all the proofs and
statements...Amir nigam is proved as
the culprit and court decides to punish him by hanging till d-....

??: Wait.....

Siddharth let out a breath that he was holding during the speech of the judge and turned his head to right where a person was standing all in black, wearing a mask and glasses.

??: I want to say something before you
announce his punishment.....

The person said and pointed their finger towards Amir who frowned slightly..... Sid's heartbeat quickened as he realized the voice and saw Vaishu standing behind her....

Judge raised his brow but allowed
Avneet to walk to the box.

She slowly removed her mask
and glasses and Amir's expression
twisted but sid couldn't comprehend the situation. He squeezed Abhi's hand a bit harder to which he
yelped.

Vaishu: You ok.....she quickly asked as
she took the empty seat beside Abhi.... Abhi nodded his head and faced sid
who was sweating by now.

Abhi: sid....

Siddharth kept staring at Avneet and he was hyperventilating.Abhi got worried and vaishu also noticed sids  condition.

Avneet was saying something to the
judge but sid couldn't heard that. He was again hearing his own heartbeat in his ears. He was afraid that Avneet was here to make it more worse for his father.

Abhi: sid....Breath please....he whispered yelled to the boy who was getting paler by seconds.

Vaishu: siddharth.... What's wrong..... she asked softly but sid shook his
head.

Abhi:oh god ... Sid...What should i do.... Will they allow us to go outside...I don't know what's wrong with him.....he panicked and asked Vaishu who nodded and was about to get up but Judge voice stopped him who announced final verdict after Avneet's words and the court was dismissed.

Abhishek was shocked on the decision and looked up at Avneet who was staring at siddharth with so much concerned eyes.

Abhi: Ashu....Did you hear that....he said softly as he tried to remove his coat but sid was covering his ears.

Avneet couldn't stop herself and
finally took big steps and Vaishu took
the hint.

Vaishu: umm..Mr. Abhishek....Can you accompany me for a moment, they need some time... Please.....

Abhi: But Sid is not fi-....

Vaishu: Believe me....she can handle. Please.....

Vaishu pleaded and Abhi gave in
and when he moved a bit away from
Sid. Avneet quickly grabbed his shoulders and guided him away from the court, taking him towards her car.

Once she settled Sid on the back
seat...she also joined him and he
was now crying hysterically.

Sid: H..he is going to d...die....h..he... he will leave me too. I hate m..my life.. i hate it....i hate it......

She felt a strong pang in her heart by the cries of him... She gently placed her hand over his shaking shoulders and pulled him in a warm hug.

Avneet: He won't die.....i...i forgive him....she said as she choked on a sob.
The only reason of her current life was revenge. But she let it go, because she cant see an innocent boy suffering so much... that he never deserved.

Siddharth blinked away his tears to
clear his vision and looked in eyes of
her. Those chocolate orbs filled with
tears, the sadness that anyone could
feel at the sight.

Avneet smiled a bit and kissed his forehead with so much affection. Her lips lingering for longer than expected and when she pulled back, sid felt lose of warmth. His eyes hold so many questions and she decided to answer those all.

Avneet: I can't see you in pain....You were right that i had a chance to be happy with my family for 10 years, while you got nothing.....

He was sobbing by now but he just couldn't tore off his gaze. Because for now,....she was looking more broken than himself.

Avneet: I was selfish.. i... i know that.... All i did was horrible.... I know...my presence must be so hateful for you.....

Sid  saw how she choked on the word
hateful.

Avneet: B..but this was the least i could do for you...Giving you y..your happines....that's why....i..i forgive him....He won't be receiving the punishment of murdering my p... my parents....

Siddharth was caught off guard as
she totally burst into tears... breaking
infront of him, like she did many years ago.

Sid was out of words, he could feel the pain she was holding in her heart, the pain radiating through her tears and choked sobs.

Was he the only one getting hurt all this time....

Was he the one to who deserve this much concern....

God.....at this point he was feeling opposite of what he was feeling few moments ago.

Sid: N..neet...he started in his shaky
voice as his hand slowly reached her  soft hairs. Gently caressing those soft locks, feeling was same as year ago.

Sid: Your hairs are still s..soft.....he blurted out and she looked up at him
with disbelief but when she saw him
smiling at her...she gave him her
unique smile.

Sid: Y-..your eyes are also same...he said with a hiccup and she  internally cooed at him. She couldn't stop her hands from going up and caressing soft skin of Sid  gently wiping away his tears.

Avneet: Please don't h..hate me Arth....

His smile faded and the way she said
those words, sid  recalled the confession he got at that night. He
could understand, why she was looking so insecure and broken.
Because she was also afraid, afraid to be hated by someone she loves.

When sid didn't say anything but kept staring at her with a blank face... Avneet retreated her hand quickly and wiped her own tears in a rush.

Avneet: i  am sorry for everything once again,....he will be staying in jail for few years as Rashika also filed the case and other charges are also there. I am sorry I  can't do anything about that.....she said after clearing his thoughts and sid felt sad when the hand moved away from his skin.

Avneet turned back and opened the
car door...moving on his side and opened the door for him as well.

Sid  moved out with confused
look and fixed himself. He quickly saw vaishu smiling at Abhi while walking towards them.

He heard a shuffling behind him and
saw Avneet sitting at back seat, her
mask and glasses were back on her
face.

By the time vaishu came besides
him and slightly smiled at him and
waved him a goodbye before entering
the car....taking control of driving seat.

Avneet: I promise...this is the last time you are seeing my annoying face. From now on, you are free of a curse.. named Avneet Kaur.....

Siddharth's eyes widened as he
realized that she was leaving him but
before he could respond,...could say his true feelings...she was gone.

Sid: No...NO...WAIT...AVNEET....NEET.. he screamed but the car already took a turn and he remained rooted on the spot, falling on his knees but Abhi was fast to hold his slumping body.

Sid: Dada.....she..she left me.....he muttered while Abhi sighed as he recalled his little conversation with Vaishu.....

Abhi: What she want to do now... What's her  intention.....he half yelled on her who looked sad.

Vaishu: she just wants to make siddharth happy. She is regretting everything she did to him and the fact that they were childhood friends, is eating her alive.....You have no idea how much dificult it was for her to take this decision.... I saw her growing up with this aim, to take revenge for her parent's death and now, she just let him go..... just because of siddharth..... she said, with so much
sadness in her voice.

Abhi: What's her next plan....he asked out of curiosity. Vaishu sadly chuckled on it.

Vai: Well she thought that sid hates
her now for everything she did. She cant see that in his eyes, so she decided to leave him to have her normal life back. She is planning to leave India for ever....to leave these bitter memories. But i am sure, she is leaving to make her life more miserable.....

Abhi frowned on the words. The distress was clear in the decision and he felt something odd.

Abhi: Why she is doing that...Don't tell me-....

Vaishu grabbed Abhi's hand that
was clenching and unclenching in
frustration... taking him by surprise.
Both looked in each other's eyes.

Vaishu: Because she is in love with siddharth....not as a friend..that's why she is willing to do anything for him even when she is going to be hurt....

Abhi bit his lips harshly and scooped
his younger brother in his embrace, trying to soothe the pain his younger boy was feeling.... He softly rubbed over Sid's shaking shoulders and said..

Abhi: I think it's better sid...let her go.....
