Through the Looking Bubbles
AN- Sorry it's been taking me a while to update, but I've been working on my Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Chrysinthea stories on my other account here on Wattpad GeekyGirl183 if y'all want to check them out and give some feedback on what I could do better.
There was only one vote from TheDreamerFrom04_YT to find Ivor and Harper so here it is.
3rd Person POV
"I think our best hope is to find Ivor, he'll know what to do about Madegno." Addie decided as she let the bubble they were peering into before float above their heads.
"Alright, now we just have to find out where in the Overworld he is." Stone reminded the group and they all started to think.
"If our world is a reflection of another, why don't we try to see where in another multiverse he goes to go off the grid?" Dreamed suggested as he took the bubble from the air.
"That may work, but we'd have to go inside that plane-verse to look closer." Addie tapped a hand to her chin as she formulated a plan.
"Plane-verse?" Sadie questioned.
"It's shorter to say than 'that multiverse's plane of existence.'" Addie quickly explained.
"Yeah that did seem like a mouthful." Dreamer shrugged in agreement.
"Ok, everyone you know the drill." Addie took the bubble from Dreamer and closed her eyes as everyone put a hand on the bubble, closing their eyes as well.
When they opened them again, they were inside the plane-verse inside some kind of underground hideout where they saw a row of empty armor stands in front of them. Everyone staggered a bit as a result of the multiverse jump, making them all discombobulated.
"Ugh that doesn't get any easier even after 274 years." Addie groaned while shaking her head to clear away the travel nausea.
"Wait so, how old are you?" Stone asked out of the blue.
"Well, physically I'm 16, but immortality-wise, I'm 290."
"Stone, at this point, you should know everything abnormal about Addie and her powers." Dreamer mumbled as he held his stomach and his mouth.
"Ok, guys," Addie got the group's attention after they all pulled themselves together, "We should split up to find out where this place is and we'll attract less attention if we go in small pairs so, we'll be less likely to be spotted."
"Wait, so we can be seen here but we can't be seen here?" Lily asked concerned.
"Classic multiverse paradox," Dreamer stated matter of factly with a hand in the air pointing up, " If this plane-verse sees your you plane-verse, then you could break the very existence of the multiverse, or something along those lines."
"Dreamer's right, as horrifying as it is to think about, we can't let anyone know we're here." Lily Rose added on urgently.
"Then let's find out where we are to find Ivor and save the order." Aspen put her fist in the middle of the group and everyone pounded it before quietly mimicking an explosion and splitting up into small pairs: Dreamer with Sadie, Aspen, Lily, and Lily Rose in their trio, and Stone and Addie as a pair.
With Stone and Addie, they were looking around the place when they heard someone choking in a room close by. Stone was about to run to help the person when Addie grabbed him arm harshly whispering,
"We can't be seen..."
"What if that person needs our help?"
"Remember what we came here for, a location." Addie reminded him and he looked down discouraged before taking note of the spreading dark veins on Addie's wrist.
"How's it doing?"
"It's spreading faster with every use of my abilities..." Addie pulled her wrist away to hide it.
"Then you have to stop." Stone fiercely insisted.
"No. I have to keep going, or else we lose this fight."
"Then, let's hurry up." Stone began tapping the walls as they walked down the hall and they gave off a hollow, echoing sound.
"So what exactly are we looking for? I mean we could be anywhere."
"Maybe a map or something, some kind of clue that tells us where Ivor could've gone."
"Like that map at the end of the hall?" Stone pointed at the end and, sure enough, there was a map with a red tag on it indicating its location.
"I have to get a closer look to sketch it." Addie pulled out her notebook as they began to tiptoe down the hall until they realized a door was open so they hid at the edge of the entrance. They heard voices from the side that were remarkably familiar,
"Sorry, just... had a memory of an old friend." A male voice gasped out.
"You liked her?" Another, female, voice asked concerned for the first person.
"Loved, but Herobrine's henchmen captured and tortured her in different ways, when I tried to save her, she ended up dead." The first voice told the other person.
"Kate?" Stone whispered.
He moved Addie to peek into the room, he gasped quietly and put his back to the wall quickly before pointing to the room to Addie and nudging his head for her to look too. Addie relented and peeked over the edge of the doorway, and saw that plane-verse's Addie and Stone in a room with two beds at either side of the room and what looked like a coughed up piece of cookie on the floor.
That must've been what your Other was choking on earlier... Addie told Stone through telepathy and he just looked at her with a face that said 'what, you have telepathy?' and she just nodded and went back to listening to their Others' conversation.
"Jack... I'm so sorry." The other Addie told the other Stone.
"Don't be that was a few weeks after we turned 15, and about 9 months before you found me alone next to that river."
"We've all lost people important to us." Other Addie put a hand on Other Stone's shoulder and let him cry into her shoulder as they hugged each other. Addie nudged Stone and motioned with her hand to move while their Others were distracted.
"OK, so according to this map..." Addie went to work quickly sketching the map while muttering directions to herself as Stone processed what they just witnessed.
"I guess in any plane-verse, Kate is taken from me..."
"Stone, now's not a good time let's just focus."
"And you lose your family too..."
"Stone." Addie told him warningly.
"What? I'm pointing out the facts, these plane-verse's aren't any different than ours."
"Yes they are..." Addie gripped her sketchbook tighter, but Stone didn't notice as he continued his rant,
"Oh really? What? What's so different about this one?!"
"Because here I'm normal!" Addie half-shouted and they heard someone's door creaking open so they bolted for a place to hide. After several moments of silence, they came out of hiding from behind a large tapestry and went to find the others.
"What do you mean 'you're normal here'?" Stone asked Addie and she just looked down at her bracelet before answering,
"That other me didn't have the bracelet, meaning she was never cursed, meaning she had no powers, and meaning that she was normal. That's my problem..."
"That you're not normal, Addie...-" Stone was about to convince her otherwise but she interrupted with,
"You don't understand how it feels... To have to watch everyone around you who cares about you and you care about them, only to remember that, in the end, you're going to lose them all..."
Addie paused as she wiped away a tear that was streaming down her face before continuing,
"You all get to grow old, have a family, your kids will have kids, and I'll just... be 16 forever and lose all the people I've ever come to care for. I'll be alone again... like I never should've even left that island..." Addie sat down against a wall with her arms wrapped around her knees. Stone sat down next to her and put an arm around her shoulder saying,
"I know, losing people is hard, but sometimes life throws unexpected things at you and sometimes you just... gotta roll with'em and realize that those twists were for a reason."
"Oh yeah, how?"
"You were born in the past a looooooong time ago, right?" Addie looked up long enough to nod, "Meaning you wouldn't have met us and been there to help save the Order had you not been cursed. In a way, your curse is actually what saves you and us."
"That is... probably the wisest thing you've said this whole trip Stone, thank you..."
"Are we interrupting something?" They turned to see that the rest of their group, with Dreamer at the front, were watching them. Quickly, Stone and Addie got up and dusted themselves off.
"How long have you guys been standing there?" Addie questioned nervously.
"Don't worry we just got here." Aspen informed them, "We think this might be the old lab in the Farlands where Ivor first took the New Order to power up for the Witherstorm."
"Yeah, all those empty armor stands from when we first showed up here, they were all the armors that Ivor offered the Jesse's when they came here." Sadie added on.
"Except now you guys were wearing them." Lily told them.
"What?" Stone and Addie chorused.
"Yeah, Dreamer and a bunch of other kids were all wearing them." Lily Rose reinforced Lily's claim.
"Ok we have a location on the map, so let's get going." Addie put a hand to her forehead and flicked it harshly.
In their world, they all gasped awake and both Dreamer and Stone were knocked into the pool of water, luckily it was only one block deep.
"Sorry, guys, guess I should've given a warning." Addie smiled sheepishly as she helped them out before pulling out her sketchbook to reveal that the map she drew in the other plane-verse was starting to etch itself into their plane-verse.
"Let's get going!" Dreamer raised a fist in the air and the others did the same before realizing something,
"How are we going to get there? It's miles away and we've already wasted time trying to figure out where Ivor went, Madegno will be far ahead of us."
"Technically not, we've only been in the other plane-verse for 5 minutes." Lily Rose motioned to a clock that was on the wall and they saw only a little bit of time had passed.
"How-?!" Stone started, but decided not to bother.
"As for how to get there, I think I may have something." Addie climbed another ladder to get to the top of her meditation room, had the other follow her, and shifted to Elytra form. She hissed silently in pain, but the others, except for Stone, didn't seem to notice.
"Now this is a new code so I'm not 100% sure it'll work." Addie raised her hands to the group and began muttering a chant before they could protest.
When she finished the chant with a slicing motion of her hands, the others sprouted Elytra wings from their backs in their respective colors and different patterns.
"Cool!" Aspen jumped up and had her horse-shoe patterned wings gently flap her down.
"So we can glide and fly with these wings?" Lily Rose asked excitedly.
"Seems like it." Lily smiled as she saw the sword pattern along the edge of her wings.
"Now let's fly!" Dreamer flew up and the others followed him up as Addie pulled out her sketchbook and began reading out directions for the group to take.
