The "Eclipsed Night" Comes to Pass

The Next Day

3rd Person POV

At dawn, Addie got out of bed to wash the paint off her face since she had been too tired to do so the night before. Gathering up all the things she needed for the ritual area, she pet Ivy as she continued to sleep with her precious chew toy before sneaking out to shift forms to fly off.

A few minutes of flying later, she stood at the gate to Beacontown's garden with all the objects she had for the ritual, waiting for Stone, who had told her he had an enchanted apple to spare which she found unbelievable.

"Addie!" She heard Stone call out and saw that he had brought Aspen, Dreamer, Sadie, Lily, and Lily Rose with him.

"I thought I told you to come alone." Addie reminded him.

"Noooo, you told me not to tell anyone else, so I didn't."

"He told us charade style." Dreamer told her unamused.

"It was hard to understand at first since he's actually really bad at it." Sadie continued.

"But, luckily, I'm great at charades." Lily Rose beamed brightly.

"So they asked her to help them with interpretations and I came along for backup interpretation." Lily finished.

"And I overheard what was going on and decided to help." Aspen added.

"But I specifically told you that I didn't want to put anyone else in danger." Addie directed back to Stone with a look of urgency.

"We're the Mine Guard, we deal with danger for a living." Dreamer reminded Addie as he and Sadie stood next to each other with their arms crossed.

"I was known as 'The Guardian' back in Redstonia." Lily drew her enchanted iron sword, spun it around a few times before tossing it into the air and sheathing it.

"Plus, you're our friend and we're not letting you do this by yourself." Lily Rose directed to Addie determinedly.

"Really...?" Addie asked softly as she looked at everyone standing before her, willing to help her and call her a friend.

"Well, yeah you may have been gone a while without friends, but this is what it means to have someone have your back." Stone told Addie as he put a hand on her shoulder and gestured with the other to the group in front of her.

"You've already done, and are doing, so much for Beacontown and all its people, let us help you save it." Aspen came forward with an apple in her hand and everyone else pulled out gold blocks.

"Thank you guys so much..." Addie's eyes started to well up with tears from seeing how the people in front of her genuinely wanted to help her.

"Come on," Stone patted her shoulder twice, "Turn off the waterworks and let's get to work."

"R-right," Addie wiped her eyes from under her glasses quickly before sniffing and pulling out the codebook to relay instructions to the others.

Working quickly throughout the day, the sun was starting to set as the group finally finished the ritual area. As they had stepped back to admire their work, Jesse came in with the rest of the New Order to check on how they were doing.

"Hey guys." Jesse waved to the group with her brother by her side and Lukas, Axel, Olivia, and Petra were behind them.

"How goes the witchy stuff?" Axel asked curiously and his eyes widened at the sight of the ritual area.

"Wow, nice work on this you guys." Petra told the group impressed.

"I see everything from each realm: Overworld, Ocean, Neither, and End." Lukas made note of all that was around the ritual area.

"Hopefully this is all enough to complete the ritual so I can finally be rid of this thing." Addie exasperated as she placed the book on the lectern.

"I thought we were just trying to prevent a monster from forming or something like that?" Dreamer asked confused.

"Yeah in order to do that I need to destroy the book, otherwise the code that will be used to bring Madegno to life will activate once the lunar eclipse is at its peak."

"Your grandfather had some power issues." Aspen commented blatantly.

"Believe me I know..."

"So when will you be able to start the whole book destroying thing?" J asked curiously.

"At nightfall."

"Well good luck man." Axel waved as they left the area to start preparing to lead the people to the eclipse viewing area.

"Alright, as soon as the moon rises and almost hits its peak, I can start the incantation." Addie explained to the others.

"So we have some time before we start." Sadie acknowledged.

"I say we head to the celebration for some snacks before we do this thing." Aspen suggested.

"All in favor?" Lily and everyone raised their hand except for Addie and they all looked at her questioningly.

"I should really double-check to make sure everything will work."

"Come on, we already did everything the book told us, you should take a break it's obvious you need it." Stone insisted.

"Alright..." Addie relented and followed the others into town where stalls of food were being set up they each got their fill. Addie was finishing up a slice of Stampy's locally famous cake when she heard barking and saw that Ivy was looking around for her.

"Hey girl..." Addie trailed off when she saw the disappointed dog frown on her face before continuing nervously, "I know you're mad at me for leaving you behind again, but I didn't want to wake you."

Ivy just growled and turned around to leave Addie in a doggy huff.

"She still mad at you?" Addie turned to see that Lily and Lily Rose were behind her.

"Yeah..."

"Don't worry, she won't stay mad for long." Lily Rose assured her.

"I don't know... aside from Jesse and Lukas, Ivy was one of the first ones I ever really trusted and now... she doesn't seem to trust me..."

"Look," Lily started, "From my experiences, trust isn't given unconditionally, but it's always given a chance to be earned."

"I'll find her later and try to make it up to her." Addie decided right before Radar ran up to the group.

"Excuse me, but people are starting to go near the garden and are questioning everything that's there." Radar gasped out from running.

"Oh no." Addie shifted forms and held out her hands for Lily and Lily Rose to hold on as they flew across town back to the garden where a small group of about 10 citizens was gathered around the entrance to the garden.

"What's going on?"

"Are those fires?!"

Questions were being shouted left and right as Dreamer and Sadie were at the entrance trying to keep people back.

"I'm sorry but this area is off-limits for today." Dreamer tried to notify the people but was met with more yelling.

"Everyone please leave the area." Addie called down as the three of them landed.

"What's going on in there?!" One citizen yelled out.

"I'm afraid I can't answer that question just yet, but all questions will be answered soon." Addie reasoned with the people and they left grumbling about "secret conspiracies."

"Nice work containing the crowd." Sadie complimented Addie, but she just looked glum.

"Yeah, when it comes to pushing people away, no one does it better than me." and proceeded to enter the garden by herself.

"What's going on?" Stone came walking up to the group with a piece of cake in hand.

"We're about to start is what." Sadie pointed to the rising moon in the distance.

"Alright, let's do this." Dreamer punched his fist to his hand as they all entered.

"Well.. technically Addie's doing it but you know good effort." Stone commented, but shoved the rest of his cake in his mouth when everyone looked back at him unamused.

When the moon was close to its peak, Addie stood at the lectern with the book flipped open with the enchanted apple in her hand and the others stood all around with an eye of ender in their hands.

"When the moon starts to turn red, throw the ender eyes down at once, got it?" Addie instructed the others and they nodded.

Above their heads, the moon's edges started to turn a light crimson color and everyone who was gathered in Beacontown oh'ed and aw'ed as the group in the garden threw their eye of enders down. Chanting in an ancient language, Addie's eyes turned bright red as the apple she held vanished from her hand and the book started to burn on the lectern from bright red flames that matched the full, red moon.

"It's working!" Stone exclaimed and the others started to cheer, not noticing that something was wrong.

Addie felt it first, her bracelet tightened around her wrist and she felt as if her life was being drained out of her. Clutching her wrist and crying out in pain, she fell to her knees as her eyes, the flames around the book, and, even, the moon all turned bright purple.

"Something's wrong!" Aspen screamed as a strong wind blew them back from reaching Addie.

"gnimoc si ongedaM...!" Addie tried to warn the others, but her voice came out warped as what looked like black smoke started to pour out from her bracelet and from the burned remains of the codebook to form a creature in the air above her head.

"Look!" Dreamer pointed to a silhouette of a person who looked almost exactly like Addie but with one blind eye.

"murrefaleM... rotiart..." The figure was soon consumed by the smoke as it whisked away into the town. Addie collapsed to the ground after the smoke creature disappeared and the jewels on her bracelet faded to a dull gray.

"Addie!" The group ran up to her as she struggled to get up from the ground.

"What happened?" Lily Rose helped Addie up as she held her wrist in pain from what looked like burns that stained her skin with black curls.

"Was that smoke creature..." Dreamer started to ask.

"Madegno... he's been formed..." Addie moaned before passing out.

AN- Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't update right when I came back from Mexico on Wednesday, but tomorrow is my first day of school and I had a lot of stuff I needed to prepare for my Senior year. I will be pretty busy during the week, but I will try to do edits and write in parts in my free time and will try to post new chapters on the weekends.

Also, I'm thinking of making another account on Wattpad for the Marvel stories I want to start posting since I have been working on them since last year along with the re-writes for my Guardians of the Galaxy story that will be apart of the new stories I want to post.

Until the next chapter, Bye
