Multiverse of Answers and Questions
3rd Person POV
"This is your library?" Dreamer asked as he was stuck between Sadie and a shelf in a narrow aisle of Addie's library.
"It's so small." Aspen commented from between Lily and Lily Rose in another aisle.
"It's usually only me in here so... sorry about that..." Addie hovered above them in her flight form looking through the bookshelves that reached the roof.
"So what exactly are we looking for in here?" Lily questioned as she took a book off a shelf, bumping Lily Rose's head with her elbow on accident.
"Ow!"
"Sorry."
"Yeah, are we looking for something specific or is the plan just to keep murdering books until we find an answer?" Stone asked from another space where he wasn't cramped in between people pulling random books off the shelf and reshelving them.
"Right before I left to set up the ritual, I stuffed all my notes from my codebook inside a book to keep them safe, it's somewhere in here, but I'm drawing a blank on which shelf I put it in." Addie put a fist to her forehead as she tried to remember when her powers faltered and she fell to the ground after her Elytra disappeared, right on top of Stone.
"Seriously..." Stone groaned from beneath Addie until he saw that she was gripping her wrist in pain, hissing silently.
The resulting crash made a book from the shelf Addie had been looking through fall out of place and landing open right in front of Stone's face to show a bunch of loose papers crammed in between two pages.
"Hey, I think you just found it." Stone picked up the book with one hand as he raised it up to Addie, who was still on top of him until she pulled herself together to get off of him and help him up.
"Are you two OK?" Aspen asked concerned after she managed to wriggle her way through Sadie and Dreamer to get to the two.
"Yeah... it just hurts a little..." Addie held out her wrist to show that the dark cracks branching out from her corrupted bracelet were starting to rim with red.
"Ouch..." Lily Rose winced as she commented from her spot.
"It's not spreading any further for now, so we don't have to worry about that." Addie assured everyone before she took what looked like a black scarf from one of her bookshelves, wrapped it around her arm over the bracelet, and tied it to where the ends hung down like streamers from her arm.
"Nice fashion choice." Lily complimented before Addie opened the book and started flipping through the pages of notes she had stuffed into the book.
"I don't have anything that could be helpful to us in this situation unless we feel like viewing alternate realities." Addie reported discouraged until a thought came to Dreamer's mind,
"Wait what if that's the way we find the answer?!" He blurted out making everyone look at him as though he were crazy.
"Dreamer's lost it..." Stone whispered out loud for the entire group to hear.
"Actually, he may have a point. If what's happening now in this version of reality is multidimensional-" Lily Rose started to explain when Dreamer continued with,
"Then there's a good chance that somewhere in the multiverse it's happened there before too." He finished explaining, making everyone look at them.
"What? I do my research in multi-paradoxical theories." Dreamer told them and Lily Rose raised her hand to say,
"Me too, it's actually really cool once you understand all the anomalies."
"It's worth a try, but we all need to be a part of this ritual." Addie commented as she tried to squeeze her way past everyone to a ladder on the far end of the library that led to a trapdoor on the ceiling.
Everyone followed as the trapdoor leading to another room that was lit with Redstone lamps that were embedded into the ceiling, the ground was grass with sweetly scented flowers planted at random, a few windows that were trap doors were opened to let in the birds of Beacontown, and, in the middle of the room was a small pool of water that had sea lanterns lighting the bottom of it.
"Welcome to my meditation room." Addie spread her arms out as the group gaped at the room.
"You built this room specifically to meditate?" Sadie asked as she held out her hand to a parrot and it gave off a musical chirp before flying away.
"Yep and for this, we all need to be concentrating." Addie sat down at the edge of the pool and motioned for everyone to join her.
"Now everyone hold hands, close your eyes, and I'll do the rest." Addie laid the book down in front of her and closed her eyes to begin reciting the incantation in an ancient language.
In their mind's eye, everyone "woke up" to find themselves in a world that was filled with small, colored bubbles and, within those bubbles, they saw different versions of themselves and their world.
"What are these things?" Lily Rose asked about the foreign shapes around them.
"They're called circles, they don't exist in our world, but we're in the world between worlds now." Addie explained, "Each one contains an alternate reality to our own."
"Woah in this one we're all Endermen hybrids." Sadie was peering into a dark purple colored bubble to see them with light purple eyes and darkly mottled skin.
"In this one there more types of monsters and we're a monster-hunting team." Aspen looked into another light blue bubble to see all of them wearing what looked like blue and white hats.
"Look for anything that can relate to our situation now." Addie reminded them and they all spread out to search more bubbles.
"Woah in this one, I have two working eyes." Dreamed peered into a bubble where they all had multiple fingers and, frankly, looked weird with multi-dimensions.
Addie was looking around when she saw a bubble with images of herself and the group fighting Herobrine as a captured New Order were being held in cells that were placed around a taken over Beacontown.
"Hey guys I think I found one!" She called out to the others as she grabbed the bubble in her hands and swiped it to the right to reverse the sequence. (Think of Inside Out)
"So, in this version, Herobrine was the one who took the New Order?" Sadie questioned.
"It looks that way, but you guys were there to stop him." Lily pointed to Sadie, Stone, Dreamer, and Addie.
"Yeah, but how do we stop Madegno?" Aspen questioned.
Addie reversed the sequence again, stopping at a point where she saw herself and Stone in another version of her library.
"Oooh." Lily Rose grinned wildly as Addie blushed bright red and skipped ahead to see that it was Ivor they had gone to in that variation for help.
"It looks like Ivor helped us there, so we just need to find him?" Dreamer suggested questioningly.
"Maybe..." Stone pondered.
"Well, where is he now?" Addie asked the group.
"He and Harper went off the grid a few months ago."
"Then how are we supposed to get his help if we don't even know where he is?" Lily Rose asked.
"Maybe we could find a different way of dealing with Madegno." Dreamer suggested.
"What do you think Addie?" Stone asked and everyone looked at her expectantly.
"Ummm..."
