Chapter XXXV

"If all our problems could be solved by sorry, we would not have war and we wouldn't need soldiers..." ~Kanmi Chidori (Full Metal Panic)

As we made our way through the castle, we looked back up at Kingdom Hearts to see a green laser going through the gigantic moon. "What's that?" Sora asked.

"That's the King and DiZ-I mean, Ansem the Wise," Riku explained. "They're higher up. We'd better hurry."

Continuing onward, we ran right into Saïx facing out through the window that was basically a wall of glass, staring at the nearly completed Kingdom Hearts while holding onto his claymore. Hearing us, he turned around and spoke, "Only you could have made it this far in once piece...Roxas."

"That's really getting old!" Sora shouted.

Goofy and Donald stepped in front of Sora, arms spread in order to protect Sora.  "Yeah!" Donald yelled. "He's Sora!"

Sora smiled with full confidence. Saïx raised an amused brow as he lifted his claymore, making a click! noise. The tip of the claymore, which is is a blue ring with dark-blue edges and lined by seven spikes suddenly disconnected from the main blade but still remained close to it. Saïx swung the claymore and held the weapon behind him as Sora, Donald, Goofy and I drew our weapons, preparing for a fight. "Different name, same fate," he stated.

Suddenly, a Corridor of Darkness opened between Riku and Kairi and Sora, Donald Goofy and I. We turned go see what's going on and Luxord stepped out. He smirked and snapped his fingers as two sets of cards appeared in front of Riku and Kairi along with Donald and Goofy. The back of the cards was a dotted gradient black with the Nobody logo on it. The cards began to circle around them faster as Luxord snapped his fingers again and the circle of cards parted, Riku, Kairi, Donald nor Goofy were no where in sight.

"You!" Sora shouted.

"I'd rather we just skip the formalities," Luxord smirked.

An invisible barrier went up between Sora and I. I turned around when I heard it come up and banged on it and Sora did the same on his side. We pressed our hands on the barrier like it was a glass window, our hands lining up before we turned back around and faced our enemies; Saïx and I, and Luxord and Sora. "Sora," I said. "I'll try to finish my battle quickly and help you out."

"Likewise, I'll do the same," Sora replied.

I now directed my full attention to Saïx, glaring hard at him as I tightened my grip on the Keyblade. "Fortunately for you, the battle will be quick," Saïx stated. "Unfortunately for you, it will end in your demise!"

Immediately, I bolted forward, our weapons clashing as we stood, trying to overpower one another. "You know, I was once the prey and you were the predator," I growled. "Now that I've returned as the predator, I wonder who will win the fight?"

"You sure you still aren't the prey?" Saïx retorted as he pulled back and swept his claymore, aiming for my feet. I quickly jumped backwards to avoid the attack.

"You can't use the same trick twice!" I shouted, remembering our encounter in the train station.

"Do you feel it? The moon's power?" Saïx murmured as he spread his arms and began to levitate, the room darkening in the process. "Moon, shine down!"

Saïx glowed and let out a battle cry as he landed, looking up at me. His eyes were completely yellow, the scar on his forehead was jagged, and his hair flared up. He sprinted forward, swinging is claymore at me. I moved my body side to side in order to avoid his blows, but all it did was reduce the damage my body took, as he still hit my shoulders. I then summoned my Keyblade and began to block my attacks with them, swinging back once to throw him off balance. That seemed to knock him back into his senses as he was restored to how he usually was but I took that opportunity to land a strike on him.

Saïx recovered quickly from my hit and ran forward, bringing the claymore onto the ground. I jumped and avoided the attack, but it did leave a nasty crater on the ground. The force of the strike, however, was still enough to send me flying back into the wall. "Sakura!" Sora cried as he battled Luxord.

"I'm fine!" I shouted, getting up quickly. "Focus on your fight, Sora!"

For how big that weapon was, Saïx really had no problem maneuvering around with it and landing hard blows with it. Saïx ran forward once again, but I was prepared this time as I raised my Keyblade up and cried, "Gravity!"

A ring appeared around Saïx as he was suspended in the air, floating. I took the opportunity to catch my breath and cure myself as soon as Saïx landed, he spread his arms and levitated himself, calling out, "Moon, shine down!"

I leapt into the air in order to hit Saïx and interrupt the transformation, but it was in vain. Saïx transformed into his berserk self and began to run around the space, sweeping his claymore across the floor and releasing shock waves of blue fire with each sweep. I ran in order to avoid the onslaught. Saïx then swung his claymore back and brought it forward, like he was wielding a giant hammer and sent out a line of blue fire to the side. He did it again and sent it in front of and behind him. Finally, he jumped upwards and threw his claymore down, sending out a huge shock wave of blue fire and and sent the fire wall at all his sides.

Finally, he left the berserk state and I used that tiny window of opportunity to hit Saïx with everything I got. It was my only chance to land a huge hit on Saïx that will hinder him. I jumped forward, summoned my Keyblade last minute so that if Saïx saw my oncoming attack, he wouldn't see my Keyblade until it was too late, and slashed right through him.

Once I landed my attack, I stood up and turned around to see how effective it was. Saïx was still frozen in place, shocked at the powerful attack and let go of his claymore. It clattered to the ground as he gripped his injury and stumbled towards the wall of glass, gazing up at Kingdom Hearts. "Why..." Saïx gasped as he reached out to the moon. "Kingdom Hearts...where is my heart?"

Saïx began to crumble away into ash, fading into nothingness as I still stood as I watched the man who had literally scarred me met his demise. Panting, I turned around and prepared to assist Sora with his battle with Luxord but Sora stood there, his mouth open and eyes wide as Riku, Kairi, Donald and Goofy stood behind him, all looking surprised, though not as surprised as Sora. I smirked and through my hand into my hair, flipping it as I felt my pride swell in my chest at the shocked looks on everyone's faces from my display of power. "Did you ever doubt my abilities, Sora?" I sighed in a mock offended tone.

"I'm..." Sora stuttered. "Remind me to never make you angry ever again."

I let out a breathless chuckle as I dispelled my Keyblade and went over to reunite with the group. "Are you alright?" Riku asked, concern in his eyes.

"I'm fine," I assured. "Few nicks here and there but nothing I can't handle."

Sora then turned his attention to Riku. "I don't get it," he said. "Why's everybody been calling me Roxas?"

"Because, Sora," Riku replied. "Roxas is your Nobody."

"My...Nobody?" Sora cried out. "That's crazy! I never turned into a Heart...oh, right."

"It was when you came to rescue me, remember?" Kairi reminded.

"Xemnas was the one who found found Roxas," Riku explained. "He  could use the Keyblade because he was your Nobody. That's why Xemnas brought him into  the Organization-but Roxas betrayed them. After that, I fought him  because I thought it would help you wake up. I lost, but the next time we  met, I made sure I was the stronger one. Maybe I didn't  need to fight him after all. I think he left  the Organization because...he really wanted to meet you, Sora."

"Roxas...I wish I could meet him too," Sora's face fell.

Riku came closer to Sora and pointed at his chest, where his heart was. Sora pointed at his heart and looked up at Riku, who nodded. Sora placed a hand over his heart and closed his eyes.

As we continued forward, Sora grabbed my hand and I looked behind him. "Saki...you were in on this the whole time, weren't you?' He asked me. "You knew, right?"

"Sora..." I looked away from him. "I'm sorry. Please don't be mad."

"I'm not mad," Sora replied. "I want to know why you didn't say anything."

"Because I made her promise not to," Riku said.

"Huh?" Sora blinked with confusion.

"Kinda like with the King," I added. "Before you woke up, Riku made me swear that I wouldn't tell you how his current state and condition, not until the time was right. I couldn't even tell you about what happened to me. Remember that scar you saw? Saïx was the one who gave it me after I was captured. Believe me, if he didn't make me promise to stay quiet, I would of told you everything, Sora. I'm sorry, please forgive me."

"Yeah, but why?" Sora continued.

"Because he knew that if you knew what had happened to him, it would only fuel your resolve even more to find him," I replied. "You probably would of busted down the door to darkness, Keyblade in hand and a dagger between your teeth. In short..." I leaned forward and brought my hand up, flicking Sora's forehead. "You would be more reckless and not be smart."

"H-Hey!" Sora yelled as I winked and stuck my tongue out and ran forward before Sora could catch up and get me back for what I had just done.
