Chapter XVI

"I'm surrounded by idiots." ~Scar (Lion King)
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The new world we entered, called the Pride Lands. The sky above us was a stormy grey and from the narrow cleft with steep, rocky walls that we were currently green smoke was emitted. As I glanced over the giant rock we stood on, the environment looked dead, and dry with skeletons littering what was left of a field.

We all looked different. We were literally animals. Sora was a lion cub. His fur is predominantly an ashy shade of brown, though his toes, belly, and the fur around his mouth are a very light grey. Sora's mane is shaped like his normal hairstyle, and is the same light brown color. There is a tuft of light brown fur on the tip of his tail, and he has three whiskers on either side of his nose. His eyes are bright blue and his sclera are yellow. His signature silver crown necklace still hangs from his neck.

Donald was a tropical bird. He still has his blue hat, but not his clothes. His webbed feet are converted into common bird's talons, and he has his staff in these them. His plumage is predominantly white, but the tips of his wings and tail feathers are a striking blue. He has three tail feathers that curl deeply at the tips.

Goofy was a tortoise. His entire body, except his head, is transformed into that of a tortoise. His skin is the same black color as his fur and his limbs are transformed into stocky legs, each with three toes and blunt, light grey nails. The underside of his shell is pale green, while the top side of his shell is yellow with white highlights. Goofy still has his hat though in this form is a light green one, rather than the orange hat he wears.

I was a lion cub, just like Sora. I had a black coat with my icy blue eyes outlines with white with three white dots underneath my eyes. The inside of my ears were white and my stomach and chest were white along with my paws. I had my signature silver-chained necklace with a blue heart with a golden crown in the middle where the two curved lines meet to form a heart.

"Hey, check us out!" Sora grinned as he circled around himself, trying to get a look at his new appearance. Once we were done examining ourselves, we took a look around at the unsettling environment around us. "This place is kinda creepy, though," Sora remarked.

In a blink, we were surrounded by three hyenas, who examine us slowly and licking their lips. One began to cackle uncontrollably, laughing like a...hyena. "Heartless?" Sora was back on his toes and ready to fight.

"I dunno, Sora," Goofy cautioned. "I get the feelin' they might live here."

"Don't mind us!" I laughed nervously.

"Just passing through," Donald gulped. "We won't be any trouble."

"Yeah, that's right!" Sora assured.

"Don't be silly," one of them smirked as they circled us, a with a voice sounding very feminine. "We'd love you to stick around for lunch."

"Um...we didn't bring anything to eat," Sora tipped his head to the side in confusion as the three hyenas began to circle us.

"That's not gonna be a problem!" Another hyena grinned,d their voice sounding masculine.

"Sora, you blockhead!" I shouted. "WE'RE LUNCH!!!"

My thoughts were only confirmed when the same laughing hyena from earlier began cackling again before licking his lips once more. We all shrieked and scrambled away, Donald and Goofy having no problem moving with their animal bodies while Sora and I struggled. Sora stumbled in his steps but kept on running while I tripped and bumped into Sora as we rolled away before landing on our backs. "Going somewhere?" The male hyena snicker as he hovered over us.

More hyenas surrounded Donald and Goofy, who had stopped for us and as the male hyena was about to make his move, he was interrupted by a lion's roar. "Man, that Scar's guy the worst timing," he groaned.

"Just let him roar," the female hyena rolled her eyes.

"Nah, we better go see what he wants," he sighed. "Sounds like he's grumpy enough already."

"Fine," she caved as she lead the pack of hyenas away to check up on this "Scar" lion.

Sora turned back to Donald and Goofy as we regrouped. "I dunno what that was about, but I'm glad it's over!" He sighed with relief. Donald and Goofy let out a sigh.

"Everything's harder on four legs..." I whined.

"Better start practicing!" Donald said.

"I found a trick to it," Goofy said. "Here, lemme show ya both."

Goofy showed us the basics of walking on four legs, showing that we should just leap when running instead of trying to coordinate all four limbs at once and leave that for walking. After getting the hang of it, we got off the giant rock and began to explore the barren wasteland below us when we first got here. We entered a ravine surrounded by skeletons of what remained of the animals that used to live here when a light tan lioness with slitted blue eyes leapt over us and growled, surrounded by lion Heartless. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Sora said.

"Heartless?!" Donald cried.

"What do we do?" Goofy asked.

"Isn't it obvious?" I said as I leapt to the lioness' aid. "Stay back!" I cried.

I summoned my Keyblade, but it appeared in my mouth. Surprised, I spat my weapon out, its metallic aftertaste still inside my mouth. Seeing Sora fight with a Keyblade in his mouth confirmed that I would have to do the same. I gritted my teeth and summoned my Keyblade once more in my mouth. At first, I tried to jump on the Heartless and stab it with my Keyblade, but I missed and ended up getting stuck on the ground. After pulling my Keyblade out, I wobbled and spun round, slashing the Heartless and making it roar. Seeing that it worked, I began to spin quickly, attacking the Heartless with a circular attack. After figuring out how to work my Keyblade in this world, fighting became a breeze once more.

After we took out the two lion Heartless, we stopped to catch our breath. "Definitely Heartless," Sora started.

"Thank you," the lioness thanked us. "You really saved me."

"We're just glad you're okay," Goofy grinned.

"Did you see any other Heartless around here?" Sora asked.

"Heartless...is that what they're called?" She responded. "I'm not sure if there are any others...I don't usually hunt outside the Pride Lands."

"Pride Lands?" Donald said.

"Hey, do you if a guy named Riku is there?" Sora began to bomb her with questions as we approached her. "Or some bad guys in black hoods? Or maybe this really big bully named Pete?"

The lioness looked confused as she slowly shook her head no. "Oh well, we might as well go take a look, anyway," Sora sighed.

"Wait-the Pride Lands are dangerous," she warned us. "Scar and the hyenas have made things unbearable for everyone. There's no food left. They've driven off the prey. We're about to starve."

"We can handle a little danger," Sora assured. "You saw us beat those Heartless, right?"

"I guess you're right..." she hesitantly agreed. "You could be just what the kingdom needs. Maybe you can help us."

"Ya mean take on this Scar guy and all those hyenas?" Goofy asked.

"Scar?" Donald added.

"He took over when our last king, Mufasa, died," she informed us.

"So you're saying this guy is your king," Sora repeated. "You want is to take down your king?" The lioness nodded. "Wait just a minute," Sora gave a nervous smile as he regrouped with all of us. "We can't just go around knocking king off their thrones," he whispered. "Then again, if they see that I'm stronger than their king, maybe they'll ask me to be their next king."

"Sora!" I scolded as I knocked him with my paw, a usual response I gave whenever Sora said something that wasn't very intelligent, but I didn't hit him as hard because I had a paw, not a hand.

"Ow!" Sora laughed. "Of course, I'd refuse. Still, I'd like to see the Pride Lands, so you all don't mind lendin' a paw, do you?"

We all sighed and nodded and Sora smiled as he ran back to the lioness. "Uh-oh, there he goes again..." Donald sighed.

As he consulted her, she nodded as she bounced off past us. "She's going on ahead to tell the other lionesses," Sora explained. "We're supposed to meet her at a place called Pride Rock."

We crossed over a dead and barren savanna towards a giant rock platform with a rock cave at the edge of the platform where I assumed the lioness we saved earlier and the other lionesses lived. Behind it a rock-shaped mountain.

My guess was correct as we climbed Pride Rock outside the rock cave I saw were lionesses resting outside it. We silently slipped past them, respecting their down time and we saw the lioness approach us with a baboon that held a staff with fruit attached to it. The baboon's fur was grey and he had orange fingers and toes with a white chest and a white mane that resembled a beard. Its cheeks were blue, its nose red, an orange mouth that matched his fingers and yellow eyes with a black pupil in the center of it.

"That's him," she informed the baboon.

The baboon got into Sora's face, squinting his eyes and examining him slowly. "Uh...what?" Sora babbled, unsure what to take from the situation.

The baboon backed out from Sora's face, stroking his chin as he quickly examined Donald, Goody and I as well. The other lionesses woke up as they sat up, staring at us as the baboon came up to the lioness and whispered something into her ear. Her eyes widened and she dropped her head in shame. The other lionesses sighed as they laid down once again.

"What is it?" Sora asked as the baboon walked away from all f us.

"I told Rafiki you might be able to help us force Scar and the hyenas out of the Pride Lands," she explained. "But he says it won't work. You see whoever saves the Pride Lands will be our next king...and he has to have the right qualities."

"Meaning..." Sora frowned.

"I think she means you're not cut out for the job, Sora," Goofy restated. Sora sighed and dropped his head.

"I'm sorry you came all this way," she apologized to us.

"Hey, no-it's okay," Sora assured her.

The lioness approached us and leaned down, whispering, "You'd better go before Scar finds out you're here. I'm really sorry."

We all turned to leave but we left the sigh of the lioness, the three hyenas we ran into earlier at the gorge had surrounded us in the front. As we backed out to go back up and warn the lioness, hyenas were behind us. We were surrounded on all sides. "Hey-a snack," the male hyena grinned.

"Snack?" The female hyena snickered. "Nah, we got us a four course meal."

The laughing hyena cackled as he drooled as as they were about to close us off, we were once again saved by a roar. The hyenas growled as the looked up and we turned to see what they were looking at. "Look at that, here comes Scar-the king," the male hyena muttered.

High above on a rock cliff stood a brown lion with a black mane with yellow eyes and green pupils. Over one of his eyes was a scar and right next to Scar stood a chubby black lion with a white face and black mane that slowly changed to white at the tips along with a white belly and paws. He had two oversized teeth that stuck out of his mouth. It didn't take a genius to figure out who that lion was. "And Pete!" Sora cried.

Scar gracefully climbed down the rock cliff and slowly crept up to us. Pete struggled to copy Scar, but as he took two steps down he tripped over his feet and tumbled the way down. Sora snickered and I shook my head, covering my eyes with my paw. As he joined Scar in approaching us, Sora cried, "What are you doing here?!"

"Aww, the cute li'l kitty's worried about me," taunted Pete. "If I were you, I'd be more worried about my friends!"

As soon as Pete said that, more hyenas came out and joined in encircling us. "Sora!" Donald shouted.

"We're surrounded!" I yelled, desperately for searching for any way out.

"Go on ladies-you've got some hunting to do," Scar titled his head at the lionesses who were sleeping earlier, along with the lioness we had saved.

"The herds have moved on, Scar," the lioness we saved protested. "We can't hunt in a land with no prey."

"No prey?" Scar scoffed. "Then what do you call this?" Scar pointed his paw at us.

"We call it cannibalism," I deadpanned.

"Oh, nice and fresh, too," Scar added.

"Again, cannibalism," I repeated.

"Well, they're all yours, Scar," Pete said.

Just as Scar was about to pounce on us, the lioness jumped onto him, pinning him down, "Run!" She yelled.

The circle of hyenas broke as they leapt save their king, which we took as an opportunity to escape. Just as we were running out of Pride rock, the lioness came up to us. "Follow me!" She said. We followed her as she took us back out to the barren savanna where we stopped, panting from the dash. "I'm sorry I got you involved in this," she apologized.

"It's no big deal," Sora assured.

"Aw, it's not your fault," Donald added.

"Sora wouldn't make a good king anyways," I snickered.

"Hey!" Sora laughed as he bopped my head with his paw. "I had to give it a try, right?"

"So you DID want to be king!" I gasped.

"Well..you know...uh, Nala, isn't there anybody else who could be king?" Sora asked, changing the subject.

"There was...but he died...when he was just a cub," she sighed. "He was the son of our last king, Mufasa. If only Simba were here..."

"Simba?!" Sora said, remembering that he aided our journey once when he was a summoning charm. "But Simba's just fine! He was fighting right beside us not that long ago.'

"You mean Simba's alive?!" Nala cried. "But where is he?"

"That...I don't know," Sora trailed off.

"Still...Simba's alive!" She smiled. "I can't believe it...Please-tell me more about him."

"Of course!" Sora grinned.

"But first, we should get away from Scar," Nala said. "We'll go through Wildebeest Valley. He won't follow us there."

We crossed through the savanna and reached a deep ravine. Nala walked backwards slowly before sprinting forward and leaping over the gap onto the other side. "Woah...!" We admired quickly before looking down at the gap, unable to see the bottom of it.

"What's wrong?" Nala yelled.

"We're never gonna make it," Sora cried. Nala sighed and muttered something to herself. "What?" Sora shouted.

"Never mind," Nala replied. "It's not important. Just copy what I did."

Sora backed away from the gap, gulping as Donald rolled his eyes and flew over the gap, joining Nala. Sora glared, now having motivation from being taunted as he copied what Nala did and leapt over the gap, joining those two as well.

Now it was my turn to eye the gap as I glanced back at Goofy, who couldn't fly nor leap over the gap. I bent down, "Climb on."

Goofy climbed on my back and I stood back up, balancing the weight on my back and I backed up, farther than Nala and Sora did. "Hold on," I muttered as I bolted forward and just as I was about to run off the ravine, I jumped, leaping through the air.

But I didn't make it.

Not quite, to be exact.

I missed the landing and ending up digging my claws into the edge to the ravine as Goofy cried out and clung to me tighter. "Help!" I gasped, clawing the cliff so I could hold on.

Sora and Nala came quickly to my aid, biting on my paws and dragging me forward so I was on land once more. As I laid there, sprawled on the ground, panting, Goofy got up off my back as I stood back up again. We began to make our way through a line of cliffs formed by a fracturing of the earth's crust, fending off from small Heartless hoards here and there.

We were nearing the end of the scarp as the spaces between the cliffs began to widen out and Nara spoke once more. "When Simba's Father, King Mufasa, died, we were told Simba's died alongside him."

"Who told you that?" Sora asked.

Nana paused in her movement and dropped her head, "Scar."

"Figures," I rolled my eyes once I heard his name.

We heard footsteps behind us and turned around, seeing it was only Rafiki. He walked alongside the cliff and paused when he was in front of us on top of a rock ledge. "It is time," he stated, raising his staff in the air.

"It must be Simba!" Nala cried. "Sora! Sakura! Hurry!" She bounded ahead of us.

"Wait up!" Sora shouted as we ran after her.

*~*~*~*~*~

We arrived at the top of the scarp, finally seeing sunlight since forever. Squinting, we forged ahead, encountering a small hoard of flying Heartless, but no big deal. In the distance, I could see an oasis surrounded by a slightly dense jungle. Hoping Nala went there we went on and entered the jungle. Barely any sunlight seeped through the gaps of the palm trees where the leaves where but there seemed to be a path through the trees. Playing safe, we stayed on the path and on guard, in case a Heartless popped up.

As we made it through to a grassy clifftop, where to the side I could see a small waterfall running down a wall of rocks into a shallow lake and we saw a familiar old summon surrounded by a small grouping of flying Heartless with yellow winged ears, a grey body with the Heartless emblem in the middle and a grey head with thick grey legs and spherical blue feet. A familiar lion, with an orangery-tan coat with a yellow underbelly and slotted eyes, black nose and a fiery orange-red mane, now free from his summoning charm,  growled and roared, causing the Heartless to back off and disappear into the black and purple ball they appear from.

"Simba!" Sora shouted as we bounded towards him. Simba snarled and leaned down, getting ready to pounce once we got close enough. "I-It's me-Sora!" Sora stopped, seeing what Simba was about to do to him if he got too close. "Donald, Goofy, and Sakura are here, too."

Simba came towards us cautiously, eyeing all of us. A spark of recognition came through his eyes."Sora!" He gasped. "Donald! Goofy! Sakura!"

He jumped onto Sora, knocking him onto his back and nuzzled his chest, causing Donald, goofy and I to laugh. "What happened to you?" Simba asked, not recognizing us in the forms we currently are in.

Suddenly, two sharp cries rang from the distance, catching all of our attention. "Help! Simba! Heeelp!" One of the voices screamed.

"She's gonna eat us!" Another one shrieked.

"Timon? Pumbaa?!" Simba shouted. "Something must have happened in the jungle! I have to go help my friends!"

Simba ran off into the jungle. "Okay, we'll back you up!" Sora said as we ran after him.

As we made it to the source of the cries, I saw Nala creeping slowly to a warthog up against a wall and a meerkat pressed against him, both trembling and whimpering. Just as she was about to jump on top of him Simba leapt, pinning her down as they began to claw at each other.

Once we caught up to them, Sora cried, "Simba! Wait!"

"Stop!" I shrieked as they got onto their hind legs, still clawing at each other's faces.

"It's Nala!" Sora yelled. "Don't you recognize her?"

Simba swiped at Nala but she tackled him and they rolled in a ball until it ended with Nala pinning Simba down where Simba stopped snarling at her and started at her with shock. "Nala?" He gasped.

Nala backed off of him and away from her as she still glared menacingly at him. She sat up, squinting like she was about to recognize him. "It's me, Simba!" He told her.

Her baffled face broke into a joyous grin as they bumped heads. "Simba! You are alive!" She cried as they circled each other.

The meerkat and the warthog came out where they were backed into from and stared at the two with disbelief. "Hey!" The meerkat yelled. "What's goin' on here?!"

They turned around and immediately saw us, causing them to shriek and they took refuge behind Simba. "Don't worry," Simba assured them with a smile. "They're all friends of mine."

"So that means...nobody's planning to eat anybody else for lunch, right?" The meerkat asked.

Sora, Donald and I nodded, confiding its thoughts. "Are you sure they don't wanna eat me like I'm some kinda pig?!" The warthog whimpered.

"We won't...but you are a pig, right?" Sora laughed nervously.

"Call me Mr. Pig!" The warthog shouted, causing all of us to laugh at the comment.

Simba leaned down to the meerkat. "Could you guys excuse us for a few minutes?"

"Why am I not surprised?" The meerkat sighed with a shrug.

We all stood there and watched as Nala and Simba went off with each other on their own, presumably to catch up for lost time.

*~*~*~*~*~

In the time we spent alone, Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog taught us this song called "Hakuna Matata", which means "no worries", and had us parading around the jungle in a single file line, singing that song. "Hakuna!" Timon yelled from the front of the line.

"Matata!" We all chorused back, taking a step forward with our right legs and turning our head and body to the right.

"Hakuna!" Timon yelled once more.

"Matata!" We chorused back again, taking a step forward with our left legs and turning our head and body to the left.

"God, this would sound so much better if we had some music with this," I muttered under my breath. "It just sounds so awkward."

We paraded back into the grassy clifftop with the waterfall where Simba stood off the edge and Nala approaching us, looking distraught. "He's not the Simba I remember," she said. "Something about hakuna matata..." Glancing back Simba, he was walking away from where he was, but in the same direction that Nala went.

*~*~*~*~*~

Nighttime fell and Sora, Donald, Goofy and I and not even Timon and Pumbaa managed to get a word out of Simba. Now we stood, hidden in the brushes of the jungle as Simba stood over a grassy clifftop, looking up at the night sky, the stars reflecting off of them. "My father's dead," he sighed. "And it's because of me...it's my fault. I can't go back...it won't change anything." Simba stared off into the sky some more. "Father...are you there?" He pleaded.

Suddenly, in the clear night sky, a swirl of purple clouds emerged and Simba stared at the sight unfolding in front of him with awe and shock as a dark silhouette of a lion that looked similar to Simba came out almost the swirl of the clouds. "Simba...you have forgotten who you are," the lion spoke. "You must take your place in the Circle of Life."

"How can I go back?" Simba asked. "I'm not who I used to be."

The clouds lit up as a sun appeared behind them, illuminating the lion and his form. "Remember who you are," the lion beckoned as Simba continue to stare at him. The sun behind the lion shone right through him and he disappeared within its rays as the swirl of clouds dispersed, returning back to the cloudless night sky only with the sun just barely rising at the horizon.

There was silence, except for the buzzing and chirping from within the jungle behind us. Then, Simba spoke, braking tat silence. "You can all come out now," he said. We exited our hiding spit behind the brush as we approached Simba on the clifftop. He turned around to face all of us. "I'm going back to face my past," he announced. "I could use your help."

"He really is a king," Timon grinned. The sun that was just peeking through the horizon began to rise, illuminating Simba in its rays.

*~*~*~*~*~

Simba, Timon, Pumbaa, Sora, Donald, Goofy and I returned back to the ravaged Pride Lands. Simba's stood on a rock perch that overlooked the barren wasteland and gasped, seeing the damage and destruction that occurred in his absence. On the distance, we could see Pride Rock.

"Wait a minute," Timon interrupted the sullen moment. "We're gonna fight your uncle for THIS?"

"Yes, Timon," Simba nodded. "This is my home."

We then traveled over the barren land, just arriving at Pride Rock. All the female lionesses we encountered the first time we were here slept at the base of Pride Rock. Simba began to climb up it, and we followed not too far behind. In the distance, high above, we could see Scar coming out of his cave and Simba perched above him on some rocks. Once Scar caught sight of him, he gasped, backing away as Simba jumped down where he was positioned to face his uncle. "Simba!" Scar gulped. "You're...alive!" I couldn't tell in his tone of voice that his shock was genuine or fake.

"This kingdom doesn't belong to you," Simba said as we followed up behind him, joined by Nala.

"Simba's the rightful king," Nala declared.

"The choice is yours, Scar," Simba explained as Scar continued to back away from all of us. "Either step down or fight."

Simba approached Scar until he backed his uncle into a corner. "Must this all end in violence?" Scar sighed in a mocking pacifist manner before smirking and circling around Simba. "I'd hate to be responsible for the death of a family member, Simba..."

"I've put the past behind me," Simba growled.

"But what about your faithful subjects? Have they?" Scar glanced back to all of us.

"Simba, what's he talking about?" Nala asked.

"Go on," Scar smiled. "Tell them who's responsible for Mufasa's death!"

"I am," Simba admitted.

"What?!" We all gasped.

"He admits it! Murderer!" Scar called Simba out, prowling towards Simba do edging him closer to the edge of the ledge. "If it weren't for you, Mufasa would still be alive. Do you deny it?"

"No!" Simba pleaded. "But it was an accident!"

"You're in trouble again," Scar taunted. "But this time, Daddy isn't here to save you. And now everyone knows why!"

Simba's hind legs slipped off the cliff and he yelped, trying to hang on to the cliff with his front paws. I began to panic. Should we jump in? What if Simba falls? Was this all going to be for nothing? Sora began to crouch down, getting ready in case he literally had to jump in and I did so as well. Scar spoke to the struggling Simba in a hushed voice, out of range for all of us. Scar jumped and dug his claws into Simba's paws, causing him to cry out in pain.

I opened my mouth, summoning my Keyblade, seconds away from jumping in. Scar then leaned down and whispered something to Simba, and I knew he was gonna to let go. As I was ready to jump, Simba then roared and leapt upwards, tackling Scar to the ground, catching me off guard that my jaw literally dropped and my Keyblade fell out of my mouth, clattering into the rock and disappearing upon doing so.

Simba put Scar into a choke hold. "Murderer!" He shouted. "Tell them the truth!" Scar choked out some answer which Simba wasn't happy at, which prompted him to yell, "Louder!"

"I...killed...Mufasa!" Scar declared.

The hyenas we encountered several times before dashed out from the den, which I detected without looking by that one hyenas iconic laugh, and tackled Simba, giving Scar the chance to escape.

"Simba!" Sora said as he and I charged into the center of the circling hyenas. "You get Scar! Well handle these guys!"

Simba dashed out the encircling while there was still an opening and more hyenas began to surround Sora and I. Timon riding on Pumbaa's back, charged right through the circling hyenas, knocking them away and sending them flying into the air. "'Scuse me!" Timon yelled. "Pardon me! Comin' through!"

Timon jumped off Pumbaa's back, both ready to fight but as soon as the hyenas we're back into their feet, they surrounded Timon and Pumbaa and both ran off to inside the den Scar came out from, which Sora, Donald, Goofy and I followed inside to offer help.

We ran where the hyenas ran. Timon and Pumbaa cowered into the corner as the hyenas surrounded them. "Split up!" I ordered our ragtag party. Taking my Keyblade into my mouth, I leapt onto a hyena, tackling it and we slid across the cave ground. The hyena cackled and I knew it was darn annoying laughing hyena. At this point, I was so done hearing it's laugh that I took out that rage onto the creature. "Shut up!" I shouted, swiping it with my Keyblade and sent it flying into the air and crashing into the cave walls, knocking the wind out of it.

I turned to the other hyenas and Sora, Donald and Goofy made quick work of them as well as they fled the cave. Nala entered the cave as Sora asked, "Where's Simba?"

"He went over there," Nala gestured her head at a corridor inside the cave. Sora, Donald, Goofy and and I ran into the corridor and ended up at the top of Pride Rock, where we saw Simba and Scar having a face off above. They were both panting and circling each other.

"Simba!" Donald cried as he was about to fly in the middle of those two but Sora stopped him.

"This is Simba's fight," he simply said.

Scar and Simba circled each other as Simba claws at Scar, but Scar clawed back Simba, knocking Simba down onto his back. Scar crept up and attempted to pounce on him but Simba used his hind legs to push Scar off of him and sending him flying off Pride Rock. "NOOOO!!!" Scar screamed as he plummeted down Pride Rock.

Simba stood over where Scar fell, panting. "You're okay!" Sora smiled as Simba turned around to see all of us.

"Aw, that was just a sneak preview!" A voice laughed. We all turned around to see Pete at the top of Pride Rock with us. "'Cause this ain't over-not by a long shot!" We turned back to where Scar fell to see two paws gripping the ridge of the rock. We jumped as Scar appeared and pushed himself back up on top. "Anger and jealousy turned the king of Pride Rock into a Heartless!" Pete laughed. "Oh, the Pride Lands will rise again. But this time, as the Pride Lands of Darkness!

A dark aura appeared around Scar as he smirked at us, the clouds on the sky above us swirling around the top of Pride Rock, darkening in color. "That's what you think!" Simba yelled, stepping back into the ring to fight.

Scar began to run around and thunder bolts came down on us, causing all of us to scatter, which either Scar planned or got extremely lucky when he did so because he tackled Sora to the ground. Sora struggled to push him off but I leapt to Sora's aid as I tackled Scar, Keyblade in mouth as I took a swipe. Scar countered it by swiping a paw at the blade, knocking it it of my mouth, leaving me distraught and creating an opening long encounters for Scar to claw at my face, I shrieked, shutting the injured eye as I fell off Scar, the stinging pain throbbing and spreading throughout my face. Scar then slid to the middle of Pride Rock and began to levitate in the air, the same dark aura from earlier surrounding him as he jumped back down and began to run around, swiping and sending us flying as we were in his mouth and sending dark fireballs he had trailing behind him if any of us tried to attack behind him.

Once the dark aura faded away, he stopped, panting slightly as he depleted his energy and magic and Simba took this opportunity to swipe Scar, knocking him onto the ground. Simba backed away as Scar laid there, panting heavily as he tried to get back up. Once he did so, he took a few wobbly steps towards us before falling down, not getting back up again.

*~*~*~*~*~

Simba went down from the top of Pride Rock to the cliff overlooking the ruined Pride Lands, the other lionesses, Timon, Pumbaa, Sora, Donald, Goofy and I watching attentively at him from below. Simba let lift a mighty roar, establishing himself as the new king of the Pride Lands and the lion her lionesses roared back in acknowledgement and Simba continued roaring as the clouds swirled and the same silhouette of the lion that Simba was communicating to earlier appeared and he roared, letting sunlight stream down Simba him, possibly the first time in a long time since sunlight even touched these lands.

A crown appeared below Sora and I. We took out our Keyblades as they were glowing and we were transported into another dimension. A giant Keyhole was in front of us. We pointed our Keyblades at the Keyhole and two beams of light shot out from our Keyblades. I was pulled into my usual trance. I saw a giant colorful weaving with dark thread woven inside the weaving. Using my Keyblade, I wove out the dark thread and replaced it with colorful thread. I was pulled out of my trance.

Timon and Pumbaa appeared beside Sora, Donald, Goofy and I. "Hey, what's with the light show?" Timon asked.

"We have to say good-bye for a little while," I tried to explain it in the best possible way I could.

"I'll go tell Simba," Pumbaa said.

"Aw, he's prob'ly busy," Goofy stated. "Just tell him we'll be back soon."

"Oh, that's right-he's king now," Timon remembered. "He's gonna be so busy he'll prob'ly forget about his two best buddies.

"Well, you always got hakuna matata, right?" Sora asked.

"Guess so..." Pumbaa nodded hesitantly.

"Whaddaya mean, 'Guess so'?!" Timon yelled. "What if he forgets to tell the carnivores who we are? one look at you, and you're a pig roast."

"That's MISTER Pig Roast," Donald corrected.

"Same thing!" Pumbaa cried. "And I'm not sticking around to be anybody's pork dinner!" Pumbaa then ran off in fear of being eaten, since he almost was just a while after we landed in this world.

"Pumbaa!" Timon yelled at his friend.

"You can never forget your true buddies," Sora muttered as Donald, Goofy, and I appeared beside him, watching the two of them.
