Chapter VII
"If you can't find a reason to fight, then you shouldn't be fighting." ~Akame (Akame ga Kill)
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
We entered the Gummi Ship and were greeted by Chip and Dale. Glancing out the window, there was only one path from this world to another world. "Only one?" Gasped Sora.
"That's not good!" Donald gulped.
"Hey...it looks familiar," I remarked.
"I think we've been there before!" Goofy suggested as we flew over there and landed the ship.
The world appeared to be a small town with a dark, gloomy, abandoned castle that floated above cliffs that were pulsing with darkness. "Hollow Bastion!" Sora and I remembered.
"Gwarsh, it looks different from the last time we were here," Goofy said.
"Probably cause Leon and the others are living here now," Sora suggested.
"I hope Leon and the gang are okay," Donald sighed.
"Uh-oh. Looks like we're going to do some fightin'," Goofy noticed two Solider Heartless disappear from a rooftop.
We went into the town center and bought seem things. While we were there, saw a duck that looked like Donald with a cane and a monocle. "Uncle Scrooge?" Donald cried.
"Er, who?" Sora asked. The name seemed familiar.
"He's Donald's uncle-a business typhoon!" Goofy explained. "Before the Heartless showed up, he traveled the worlds on a Gummi Ship with the King. He was helpin' to set up a traffic system."
"A transit system!" Donald corrected.
"What's all the racket?" Uncle Scrooge asked as he turned around. His eyes widened as he saw me. "Sakura! It's so nice to see you again after 11 years of not seeing you. You grown quite a bit, too."
"Who are you? Do I know you?" I asked.
"You don't remember?" He said. "Oh well; you were only four when we met. Makes sense why you wouldn't remember. Why, if it ain't Donald! And Goofy! Hello, lads! Aye, you all look hale and hearty!"
"So do you, Uncle Scrooge," Donald replied.
"Ah, if I were...I canna seem to recreate my favorite old-time ice cream. I'd make millions if I just get it right..." He licked a purplish-greenish ice cream bar in his wing. "Terrible!" He cringed.
"So, have you seen Leon and the others?" I asked.
"They went to Merlin's house, which is nearby," he directed.
"Okay, thanks!" Sora thanked as we ran off.
We reached an alleyway where a white disc sank to the ground where a metal ball in the middle was. "What's that?" Sora asked.
"Hey there!" A voice greeted.
We looked up to see Yuffie standing on a balcony of a house, smiling. "Yuffie!" We shouted.
She waved and her eyes popped out. "Look out!" She warned.
Dusks appeared and surrounded us. I summoned my Keyblade and hit them with it. Being flexible, they easily dodged my attack. The disc appeared and took out the Dusk I tried to kill. Sora attacked one of them and Donald and Goofy teamed up and destroyed another one. "I see you guys are still in top-notch shape," Yuffie remarked as she jumped off the balcony.
"Top-notch shape?" I laughed. "Please, we haven't done anything in ages!"
"Well, what did you expect?" Sora asked.
"What did YOU expect?" Yuffie laughed.
"How are the others?" Donald said.
"Great!" Yuffie replied.
"Hey Yuffie..." Sora said. "Have you seen the King and Riku?"
"Nope!" She said. Sora slumped. "But I had a feeling that I see you guys again!"
Sora lifted up two fingers and stared at them. "'We may never meet again, but we'll never forget each other'." He stared intently at his fingers.
"Huh? Who said that?" I asked.
"Isn't that supposed to be Leon?" Yuffie laughed. Donald and Goofy burst out into giggles. "Everybody's working on stuff over at Merlin's house. C'mon!" Yuffie ran off and we followed her into a house. Cid was at a computer typing something up while Aerith and Leon watched what was popping up on the monitor. "Meet the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee!"
Aerith and the others turned around. "We missed you!" She sighed.
"Well, if you ain't in top shape," Cid commented with a toothpick in his mouth, as usual.
"I knew it," Leon said.
"Knew what?" Sora asked.
"A while back, we started forgetting Sakura," Leon explained. "Then we forgot you, but then, everybody remembered all of you guys at the same time."
"You...remembered?" Sora sputtered. "Wait! Does that mean you forgot about us?!"
"Thanks!" Donald sneered.
I began to sweat and I looked away. "Aren't you upset about this, Sakura?" Sora asked. "After all, everyone forgot about you first."
"Huh?" I snapped my head up. "Oh, yeah! I'm totally upset! Thanks for doing that!" I laughed nervously.
"So where've you guys been all this time?" Yuffie asked.
"Sakura was off doing something while we were sleepin'," Goofy replied.
"Where?" Cid laughed. "In cold storage?"
This was going to be complicated to explain. Especially since Sora and the gang have no clue what happened to them. "It doesn't matter," Aerith interrupted. "This is great. Everyone's together again!"
"So, um...we're trying to find Riku and the King. Have you guys seen them?" Sora asked. Everyone shook their heads no. "Right..." He muttered.
"Sorry," Aerith shrugged. "But let us know if there anything you need help on. Okay?"
"Okay," Sora nodded. "Thanks."
"Don't go thankin' us yet," Cid said, leaning forward towards us.
"Hollow Bastion got a problem," Leon explained. "A big problem."
"You mean like Nobodies?" Sora asked, leaning over Cid's shoulder. "And Heartless?"
"That's right!" Yuffie added.
"Sounds like you guys could use our help," Sora replied.
"The let's cut to the chase," Leon said. "Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Sakura. We were hoping the four of you might give us a hand around here."
"Like we're going to say no?" Sora grinned.
"Humph...I forgot who I'm dealing with," Leon rolled his eyes.
"Hey, what do you mean by that?" Donald demanded.
"Just think of it as a sort of 'Leon's compliment'." Aerith laughed.
"Follow me to the Bailey-there's something I need to show you guys," Leon headed out of the door.
A puff of white smoke and sparkles appeared as Merlin came out from then. "Oh! I though it was you guys. Right on time!" He remarked.
"It's Merlin!" Donald cheered.
"Sora and the gang said they're going to help out!" Yuffie explained.
"Splendid," Merlin replied. "Oh! Did you give them the cards?"
"Oh!" Aerith cried, pulling out something from her dress pocket. "Here...they're presents for you guys. Leon thought you might like them."
We examined the card and flipped them over. I read what it said in the back out loud. "Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee Honorary Member!"
"Membership cards!" Donald said.
"Kinda cool, huh?" Goofy asked.
"Hey thanks Leahhh...huh?" Sora said as he looked at the door.
"Leon left," I reminded him. "Didn't you notice?"
"Oh no! We were supposed to meet him at the Bailey!" Sora cried as he ran out the door.
"Hey! Wait for us!" Donald said as we followed him.
*~*~*~*~*~
We stood over the stone wall at the Bailey. "Look at that," Leon pointed. Underneath the floating castle was darkness. Darkness that moves. Darkness with yellow eyes. The Heartless.
"The Heartless!" We cried.
"We've been trying to restore Hallow Bastion, but it's in worst condition than we thought," Leon sighed. "And that, too."
Right below us, two Dusks were sneaking their way to the town. "We'll handle 'em," Sora assured Leon.
"That's good to hear," he replied. "So Sora, Sakura-do you two know what's going on, then?"
"There's this guy, Pete. He's been going around plotting with the Heartless," Sora explained. "But he's not smart enough to tie his own shoes. The ones we need to worry about are the Nobodies."
"And the Organization XIII, who's in charge of 'em!" Goofy added.
"You called?" A deep voice asked.
We jumped, looked around and up, to see that nobody was here. We ran down the steps and into another place, looking around. "You two are doing well," he commented again.
"Who's there?" Sora demanded as he and I summoned our Keyblades.
"This calls for a celebration..." The figure snapped his fingers.
Some Dusks flew by our faces and the doors closed, trapping us in here. Donald and Goofy banged on the door, yelling for us. Leon summoned up his sword and we ran to the Nobodies. Leon summoned his sword and knocked one of them to the wall and I impaled it with my Keyblade, destroying it. Sora slashed the other one with his Keyblade. Two more popped up as replacements to the ones we destroyed. We slashed them all at once and they disappeared. No more replacements were summoned. The door opened and we ran out. Sora searched for the voice. "The Keybalde...a truly marvelous weapon." A voice sighed.
"Show yourself!" Sora yelled.
"If only it were in more...capable hands." Laughter of multiple men were heard. On the stone bridge above us, a dark portal appeared and someone with a black coat came out of it. Seven more portals appeared and second more people with black coats came out.
"Organization XIII!" I shrieked.
"Good," Sora said. "We can settle this!"
"Such a shame." The voice sighed. "I hoped that we could be friends."
All of them disappeared into portals. "Stop!" Donald yelled as he ran up to the stone wall where they were. A portal appeared in front of him and one of them stepped out it. Donald's eyes widen and he looked back at the stone wall where they used to be at. "What's the big idea?" He demanded
"Oopsy-daisy!" The voice shrugged.
"Move!" Sora yelled.
"Now you think that's polite, shutting me down like that?" He taunted.
"I said get out of the way!" Sora shouted.
"As if!" The figure moved his body like he was rolling his eyes at us. "You can talk all you what, but that won't change a thing."
"The we'll MAKE you move!" Donald said as he summoned his wand.
"See, that would work-if I were just any old dude." He sighed. "'Cept I'm not. I'm with the Organization. Nothing's 'any old' about me."
"Ha!" Sora sneered. "Tough talk from someone who stood on the sidelines while his Nobody flunkeys did the fighting!"
"Oh, dear," the figure sighed. "I think you got the wrong impression."
"You gonna cry?" Sora taunted.
"As if!" The figure taunted. "Why don't I remind you how tough the crowd you're dealing with really is?"
"Remind me?" Sora blinked with confusion.
He laughed, "That's RIGHT. He used to give me that exact same look."
"I guess you think you can psych me out by saying some random stuff." Sora glared.
"Gee...I just don't know." He put his arms out, waiting for a snarky comment from Sora. When he got nothing, he waved. "Be a good boy now!" A dark portal summoned and he disappeared through it.
"Wait!" Donald jumped and tackled him, but he was gone through the portal. "Nuts! He guy away!"
"That was weird," Sora commented. "But, WHO gave him the same look?"
"Y'know, I think he was just tryin' to confuse you," Goofy guessed.
"Yeah." Sora nodded. "There's only one me!"
Leon caught up to us. Sora held up his card, "The Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee Honorary Member--"
Suddenly, Sora's card began to glow and it flew up in it the air. The tips of our Keybaldes glowed, as if it was attracted to the card. "What is that?" Leon asked.
"Gwarsh, ya think...?" Goofy said.
The card glowed some more. Sora and I held out our Keyblades. Two beams of light came out from them and a crown appeared below us. It glowed and wind blew our clothes slightly up. Light swirled around us and transported us to another place. We were floating with dark clouds around us covering what appeared to be a golden sky. The card glowed and shot a beam, revealing a Keyhole. We pointed our Keyblades at it and another two beams of light shot out at it. My familiar trance was pulled back to me.
I saw a huge weaving with dark thread woven into it. Pointing my Keyblade at it, I wove the dark thread out and wove I'm some new colorful thread. I was pulled out of my trance and I was next to Sora, our Keyblades in the air. Leon's mouth dropped open. "Oh...now I get it," Sora said, examining his Keyblade.
"That must of been the gate Yen Sid was talking about," I added.
"Oh boy!" Donald cheered, knowing that one Keyhole was now sealed.
"Sorry to run, Leon," Sora apologized. "But other worlds are calling."
Leon nodded, "Organization XIII..." he muttered. "They look tough. Be careful out there." We nodded and he waved at us goodbye.
