Chapter IV

"Even if things are painful and tough, people should appreciate what it means to be alive at all." ~Yato (Noragami)

I stood on the circular platform as DiZ typed away on his keyboard. The laser above me began to glow and I saw pieces of my body began to disappear into code. "You know what do do," DiZ reminded me.

"Yes," I nodded grimly. "Take Roxas to Sora."

"I want you to know that I had never had any intention to get you involved into this," DiZ tried to assure me as more and more of my body began to convert itself into code. "With the wretched Organization's interference, I had to pull you into this. I cannot believe I am saying this, but protect Roxas at all costs."

"Understood," I nodded once more as my body disappeared from this world entirely.

I teleported into the virtual Twilight Town which looked exactly the same as the real Twilight Town. As I appeared, glitches here and there on my body as it adjusted to the new environment, I speed-walked around, looking for Roxas, which turned into a jog when I couldn't find him. I ran down an alleyway to see Roxas, Keyblade drawn with Axel, prepared to fight. As Axel drew his chakrams back, he froze in place. Roxas stood there, confused on what just happened. "Roxas!" I shouted.

He turned towards the direction of my voice. "Who are you?" He asked. "And, why are you so familiar?"

"There's no time to explain," I replied. "To the Mansion! Now!"

Before he could protest, I grabbed his arm and dragged him to the Mansion. Along the way, Dusks and various other Nobody monsters appeared but I ran around all of them, avoiding them.

Once we arrived at the Mansion, I walked up to and shook the gates. "Come on," Roxas groaned. "Don't bring me here to have us locked out."

His eyes widened for a moment, as if he was remembering something. He pulled out a Keyblade, and held it at the lock. I did the same with my Keyblade. Yellow stars swirled Roxas' Keyblade while blue stars swirled mine, and two beams of light shot out from the tips of our Keyblades. The gate unlocked and Roxas took off into the Mansion. "Roxas, wait--" I cried, going after him.

He ran into the mansion and straight into Naminé room. He looked at the drawings in the room, a flash of familiarity going through his eyes. He turned around and Naminé sat on her usual spot at the table. "Organization XIII...is a bad group," He stated.

"Bad or good, I don't know," Naminé replied. "They're a group of incomplete people who wish to be whole. To that end, they're desperately searching for something."

"What?" Roxas asked.

"Kingdom Hearts," Naminé informed. Roxas chuckled a bit. "Funny?" Naminé raised a brow.

"It's just...I think-I've been running away from the question I really wanna ask: What's going to happen to me now?" Roxas gripped the edge of the table. "Just tell me that. Nothing else really matters anymore."

"You are--" She started.

Before Naminé could finish, she disappeared into code, as if she was made of data. "Naminé!" Roxas cried.

She was just a hologram message. DiZ appeared through a portal made of code, "There's no knowledge that has the power to change your fate."

"Even if it doesn't, I wanna know," Roxas demanded. "I have the right to know!"

"A Nobody doesn't have a right to know," DiZ snapped. "Nor does it even have the right to be."

"But what IS a Nobody?!" Roxas cried.

A Corridor of Darkness appeared and Ansem took a step out from it. "DiZ, we're out of time,." He informed. "Too many Nobodies!"

Another Corridor of Darkness appeared and Naminé stepped through it. "Roxas," She said. "Nobodies like us are only half a person. You won't disappear. You'll be whole!"

"I'll...disappear...?" Roxas stuttered.

"No, you won't," Naminè repeated. "You'll--"

"No further outbursts!" DiZ interrupted as he went to the portal Naminé opened and grabbed her, covering her mouth.

"Wait!" Roxas cried as he ran to the Corridor of Darkness but I grabbed his arm, standing my ground and holding him in place.

"Roxas!" Naminé gasped, struggling to hold DiZ's hands back. "We will meet again. And then we can talk about everything. I may not know it's you, and you may not it's me. But we will meet again. Someday soon. I promise!"

DiZ took her into the portal. "Naminé!" I cried.

"Don't worry, Sakura," DiZ said. "You have a task to finish. Now go!"

DiZ disappeared into the portal and Ansem followed. Remembering the task on hand, I opened the door out of the virtual room that belongs to Naminé and I proceeded to escort Roxas to the library, where I began to search from the way into DiZ's computer room. Of all the things DiZ had to tell me before the mission, couldn't he tell me the way to his secret lab?

"Come on, there's gotta be a way in," I muttered while taking out books from shelves, pushing shelves aside, and stomping in the tiles in the ground to see any secret door opens. Roxas saw a drawing that Naminé left for him on a study desk and began to copy it over on the desk in yellow crayon before it began to glow and I turned my attention to the light and Roxas stepped back from the desk. A door appeared on the ground and it opened, revealing a staircase. "Oh...I knew that," I rubbed the back of my head in embarrassment as Roxas raised a brow at me before entering the secret doorway.

We walked in it a computer room and Roxas began sliding his fingers over the keys on the keyboard. Then, he held his head and groaned, obviously remembering something. I stood in the back awkwardly, unsure how to respond to this.

Roxas shook his head and got up. He summoned up his Keyblade and began smashing the computers with it. "Roxas? Roxas! Stop!" I tried to grab his arm to stop him but he shook off as he continued to smash the computers. I sighed. Oh well. They were fake, after all.

After he was down smashing them, he dispelled his Keyblade. "Happy now?" I rolled my eyes as a door beside us opened. We stepped through, entering another part of the secret lab where a group Dusks stood, waiting for us. Roxas and I jumped them, taking them out with no problem.

A Corridor of Darkness opened Axel came out. "Simply amazing, Roxas," Axel complimented, obvious sarcasm in his tone.

"Axel..." Roxas sputtered.

"You really do remember me this time?" He yelled. "I'm SO FLATTERED!!!"

A wall of fire surrounded us, blocking off all exits. "But you're too late!!!" Axel continued.

I summoned my Keyblade, Heart Weaver, while Roxas summon his, which were Oathkeeper and Oblivion. "Two?" Gasped Axel. "And Sakura got hers back!"

Axel raised his arms on the air and spread them out, fire swirling around them as he summoned his twin chakrams. He raised his head and and smirked, making the whole ground turn in it molten lava. I bounced around, yelping.

Roxas grabbed my arm and we jumped into the air, smashing Axel with our Keyblades. Roxas smashed him again with his, causing beams of light to surround Axel and get rid of the molten lava. The wall of fire disappeared around us as Axel clutched his side. "Axel..." Roxas started.

"Let's meet again in the next life," He smiled.

"Yeah, I'll be waiting," Roxas nodded.

"Silly," Axel laughed as a portal appeared. "Just because you have a next life..." He didn't get to finish because the portal took him away.

We walked on through another doorway where we reached a hallway where the sleeping pods were. Roxas eyed one of them. "Donald..." He said before turning to the next one. "...Goofy?" As we walked past them, I eyed each one of them, glad to see that they were okay,

Roxas went ahead and I went after him and we reached the end of the hallway, which was a vast, white room. DiZ stood in front of the lotus-shaped memory pod. "At last, the Keyblade's chosen one," he greeted.

"Who are you talking to?" Roxas demanded. "Me, Sora, or her?"

"To half of Sora, of course," DiZ responded. "You reside in darkness. What I need is someone who can move about in the Realm of Light and destroy Organization XIII."

"Why?" Roxas asked. "Who are you?"

"I am a servant of the world," DiZ chuckled. "And, if I'm a servant, then you should consider yourself as a tool, at best."

"Was that...was that supposed to be a joke?" Roxas gritted his teeth. "''Cause I'm not laughing!"

Roxas summoned his Keyblade and ran up to DiZ. "Roxas, no!" I shouted, running up and standing in front of him to block his path. Roxas pushed me to the side and slashed DiZ. Code came off of his body. He was another hologram. I breathed a sigh of relief. Roxas looked extremely confused on what just happened.

"My apologies," DiZ laughed. "I appreciate the concern, Sakura, but this is only a data-based projection."

Roxas was seething with rage and began slashing DiZ some more until the hologram disappeared in mid-attack. DiZ reappeared behind me. "Come, over here," he gestured, causing me to jump with surprise.

Roxas turned around and stared at the hologram of DiZ. "I hate you so much..." Roxas growled.

"You should share some of that hatred with Sora," DiZ sneered. "He's far too nice for his own good."

"No!" Roxas shouted. "My heart belongs to me!"

He ran up to DiZ to slash him again but he disappeared before he could do that. The pod opened and a platform appeared, revealing a floating, sleeping Sora. Roxas dispelled his Keyblade, sighing, "Sora." He looked up at the sleeping boy and smiled, "You're lucky. Looks like my summer vacation is...over."

Roxas stepped forward and entered the pod, a bright light consuming both buys as I turned around, not wanting to face the light as I saw a ring of numbers surrounding me and I was teleported out of the room.

I stood back on the platform that I came in through and DiZ sat by his many monitors. "It's done," I stated curtly as I stepped off the platform.

"Good," DiZ nodded as he stood up. "I appreciate the help, Sakura."
