Chapter III
"We can't waste time worrying about the what-ifs." ~Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I was watching the sun set through my window in my room in the Haunted Mansion. As it sunk lower and lower in the horizon, it took all the colors from the day and replaced it with a sheet of darkness. I heard the door to my room open and I didn't look back as footsteps approached me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Sakura," the voice said behind me.
"Hmm?" I replied, turning around to see who it was. It was Ansem. He had his hood up as usual. "Is there something you need?" I asked.
"Sora and his friends will wake up soon with their memories back," he reminded me.
"I know," I nodded.
"I need you to do a favor for me," Ansem requested.
"That doesn't sound good," I sighed. "What do you need me to do?"
"Don't tell Sora of my whereabouts," he stated.
"What?" I asked. "Why?"
"Because...because I don't want him seeing me like this," Ansem's head dropped.
"I think how you look will shock him but if I just explain things to him, he will understand, right?" I reasoned.
"This isn't the right time," Ansem explained. "If you tell him right after he gets up, he'll get excited and...well, you know Sora...he'll get reckless. He leap from the sleeping pods, Keyblade in hand and a dagger between his teeth of you even tell him of my whereabouts. He won't even listen to the rest."
"I'm still not convinced," I shook my head as I crossed my arms.
"Saki...I need you to trust me on this," Ansem pleaded with me. "I know exactly what I am doing."
"Well..." I sighed reluctantly. "Alright. I'll do it."
"Thank you for trusting me," Ansem nodded curtly as he left my room, closing the door behind him.
I shook my head and turned back around to my window, now only seeing my reflection since the sun had set already and night was taking over the sky. The moon shone bright, illuminating the forest below me. I continued to stare at the window as I thought about what I had just agreed to do. From the way how reluctant I was, you'd think that Ansem was asking me to donate a kidney for him.
"I don't know if you're making the right choice...Riku," I muttered to myself.
