64- My Biggest Mistake.
I was standing with my legs tightly stuck with the ground but still I can feel myself running. Apparently since I have read that 2 emails, one of which was send to me 8 years ago, my mind wasn't calm. It was running off to places which I never knew existed.
I always had suspicion about how that case ended so fast and afterwards being a law student, did nothing but raise her suspicion. How did they convicted him soo fast..? Such cases should at least take 1 month minimum in the court but how come it ended in just 1 week..?
We were filled with the sense of justice that time in the day but overthinking in the night always used to caught me off-guard and it turns out that my overthinking was on point. I used to always slide-line it by telling myself that vidhika saw it, you didn't so it's not your place to say anything. Moreover I don't even remember what happened that time because of repression which still have it's clutches around me.
If Adarsh really didn't had anything to do with that case and got convicted wrongly, it would be a very big mess, bigger than it was already. It can affect Adhya's case too for two prime reasons, first is that he is her cousin and second is that this case, 11 years ago case and 28 years ago cases are related.
Definitely it will be hard to fish out all the evidence related to the 28 year old case which led to the disappearance of Miss. Sanjana Sharma but I have to do it or else I will be never able to find the actual mastermind and punish that person for all hideous crimes and for hurting innocent people.
Slide-lining my instincts and following what other people said, was my biggest mistake I ever did that time.
"Sorry for interrupting but I have an important news to tell you about. A news which will shock you both."
"The person who was counselling her is none other than Mrs. Kalpana Singhania, Mr. Vihaan's mother."
As soon as Uditasree opened the door and interrupted our talk, the look on her face clearly showed that the news she got is very big one but I never knew that it was much bigger than I expected.
"Wait! What!?!"
More than me I found vidhika getting shocked and her face clearly showed that she wasn't expecting this. We all weren't expecting that. When did Vihaan's mother became a psychiatrist...? Wasn't she just a housewife...?
"Did you went to the same hospital I suggested...?"
I asked vidhika as she nodded with confidence but soon it faded and it looked like she remembered something important.
"I didn't went with her. She went with my parents but I am sure they went to the same center as from last few days I am the one who is going with her. What I find weird was that, Adhya was the only one who went inside the cabin and I didn't. It was strange but I slide-lined it when my parents said that they were also told to wait outside.
Now that I think about it after adhya's sudden withdrawal and getting an unexpected news, it makes sense why she didn't let anyone inside expect Adhya."
After hearing what she got to say, I stood up from the chair as I covered my body with the coat which was lying on the chair. My actions confused both of them as it was out of nowhere. The only difference was that, Vidhika stopped me and asked me ton of questions whereas uditasree preferred to keep quite.
I ignored all her questions and walked towards the door but soon turned towards them when I remember someone.
"You both have learnt how to counsel, right...?"
They both at first looked at each other, confusion plastered on their faces, before turning to see me hoping that I will elaborate my earlier sentence.
"The work I am going to do will take a lot of time so I want you both to counsel adhya and find out what actually made her back off from the case. Please can you both do that together...?"
"It's clear that Mrs. Kaplana did that."
"Vidhika, don't forget that we can't jump into conclusion. We need proper evidence and only after that I can confront her or put blame on her."
She was thinking hastily and I could't even blame her for that. We had a little staring competition before she sighed and nodded as she said she will do what I asked her to do. After getting their confirmation, I made my way outside, immediately hopping inside my car and not wasting a single before driving towards my destination.
"Excuse me....?"
My words came out more as a question instead of a sentence which was supposed to be said in a firm tone.
"Yes...? How can I help you...?"
A women in her late 40's who was wearing a white one-piece dress, stood at the reception of the building in which I had work.
Her back was facing me as she was busy filling a form so I couldn't her face. I know that this how government hospitals work in our country so without any delay or getting irritated, I asked her what I wanted to ask.
"Can I meet Dr. Raksha Rathi...?"
When the nurse finally turned and looked at me, I saw a sense of familiarity passing through her eyes. I felt like she was registering my face's features in her mind as her eyes continuously moved the right side of my face to the left side.
After she realised what she was doing, she looked away before again looking at me, now with a professional look on her face. Still embarrassment can be clearly seen on her face.
"Oh I am really sorry for that. Do you have an appointment with Dr- Wait-
Did you just said Dr. Raksha Rathi...?"
I nodded as I looked at her with my confused gaze. Why did she reacted like that...?
"Oh wait. Aren't you Miss. Narsule...? That teenage girl who used to come here to Dr. Raksha Rathi for therapy...? Oh that's why you looked very familiar."
Even though it was clear why she looked at me with eyes full of familiarity but it wasn't clear by she reacted like that when I said the doctor's name.
"Yeah I am that same girl. But can I meet Dr. Raksha Rathi, it's very urgent and yeah, I couldn't take the appointment because I was in a hurry but..."
I immediately removed my handbag from my arms to fetch my identity card to show her that I am a lawyer now. It will be easy to meet with her as showing the identity card will stress on the fact that how important my meeting with her is.
"But Dr. Rathi doesn't work here anymore."
What?!? I stopped my movements as I looked up at her as I wasn't sure that whatever I heard was true or just my hallucination.
As if she understood what's going inside my head, she nodded and continued her words further.
"The reason I remember you is because, you were her last patient before she left this hospital. From what she have said when it was her last time here, even though it wasn't the time of her retirement, she wanted to retire from this field.
Yeah, that's what she said and from then, I have never saw her again."
I wasn't expecting this is when I hopefully came here to find something important. But if I couldn't meet Dr. Rathi, that doesn't means I could not find the answers which I brought her with me.
I again looked at my bag and fetched my identity card with a paper which had information about the case I was currently fighting.
"I am a lawyer. This is my identity card and this is the legal information about the case I am fighting for.
Few weeks ago, I suggested my client, Miss. Adhya Sharma to visit a psychiatrist here as I also did that 11 years ago. My doctor was Raksha Rathi and as I didn't knew that she retired soo suddenly, so I told them to visit the same psychiatrist.
Can I know who was the person who send her to the other psychiatrist instead of Dr. Rathi...?"
The timing felt soo strange. I was her last patient and after that she retired. Not only that, but when Adhya came here, instead of telling them that Dr. Rathi doesn't works here, they told her to go to Mrs. Singhania.
I remember I clearly told her parents that if Dr. Rathi isn't here or is busy, then I have many other psychiatrists names. I will suggest them another one and they shouldn't take decision hastily as getting a good psychiatrist is very important.
'Not only the timing is wrong but the situation is wrong too.'
I saw her smile turning upside down as her eyes were filled with worry and I know why that happened.
"I am sooo sorry Miss. Narsule but-"
"I know you can't give me your private information even if I force you to do so. I can understand so it's okay, Mrs. Singh. I will take my leave so you can continue with our work."
I bowed down little for showing respect before turning my heels and my way towards the main door of the hospital but before I could even move my other heel, I spotted a familiar person.
That familiar person was talking to a doctor. I watched them talking without knowing what they are talking about from the reception.
'What he is doing here...?'
As soon as they started moving from that place, I saw them walking towards the other side of the hospital. It was clear that the male didn't saw me as the wall which joint the reception's table, was hiding my body ver properly.
From what I know and what I saw, the other side of the hospital, is basically a testing center of the hospital. Blood tests and many other tests of the patient takes place there. So the familiar male going down there have surely made me very curious.
'Even though I couldn't find the answers to my questions, let's find what he is upto.'
And with that thought, I quickly and quietly followed both of them. As I have been here earlier, I was familiar with the surrounding and I could clearly figure out where they are going.
But the question was that what he is doing in that lab.
"What the hell is Kairav here, at the DNA testing lab...? What is he hiding away from me..?"
