I feel like an asshole.

I forgot what day it was, and the first thing on my mind was "I have a doctors appointment today " and not "a tragic event happened 17 years ago today"

Does that make me an asshole? Keep in mind that I'm also Canadian so the event wouldn't affect me as much as my southern neighbors.
