Where am I?

I looked around, gathering my surroundings. The only thing that I could make out at the moment was that I was standing in a field full of wild flowers. I could hear something in the far distance. Turning my head to the right, I could see Saleena on the ground crying.

I slowly walked over to where I was seeing Saleena at. When I got to where she was at, I could see that Saleena was tightly holding onto August's bloodied body.

"August, please just hold on for a few more minutes," Saleena begged her mate.

"S-Saleena," August gasped out, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I'm here. Please stay with me August. I can't lose you."

"I-I l-love y-you."

"I love you too," Saleena sobbed out as she brushed the hair out of August's face.

"A-August." Saleena lightly shook August's limp body.

"God no, August wake up, baby please," Saleena screamed out.

"I found them, over here."

I looked over in the direction of where I had heard the voice coming from. Michael and Bradley came running out of the woods and over to where Saleena was at.

"How's her condition?" Bradley asked.

"Please do something," Saleena sobbed out as Bradley checked for August's pulse, but when I saw the look on Bradley's face, I knew that August was gone.

"She's gone Saleena," Michael said.

"No, she's not, please Michael, please do something," Saleena cried out in agony.

"There's nothing we can do," Michael said.

"Come on, we have to go," Michael said as he tried pulling Saleena away from August.

"No, I'm not leaving her alone. She's scared of being alone."

"Saleena, we have to go."

Michael forcefully picked up Saleena and started to drag her away from August's body.

"August please this can't be happening, she isn't gone, Michael I can't leave her," Saleena sobbed out as she hit the ground dragging Michael down with her.

"I promised her I wouldn't let anything happen to her and now she's gone. I failed her. She died because of me."

Michael wrapped Saleena in his arms, trying to comfort her the best he could.

"This isn't your fault Saleena, she chose to fight in this battle, she did it for you, if you're going to blame anyone, blame Daniel for starting this senseless war," Michael said as Saleena cried even harder.

"I want her back," Saleena screamed out as she clung to Michael, sobbing.

I sat up in bed screaming at the top of my lungs. I was drenched in sweat, cold chills coursed through my body. My body was shaking as I looked around my room, trying to focus on where I was at.

A vision?

I haven't had a vision in years, and then when I finally do have one, it has to be something as awful as that. I'd have to make sure to talk with Saleena and Lucas tomorrow.

Benjamin came rushing into the room, looking disoriented, with his hair sticking in odd directions.

"Are you alright?" He asked as he walked over to where I was at.

"I'm alright, just a bad dream is all," I said, using the sleeve of my nightgown to wipe away some of the sweat from my face.

"Must have been one hell of a dream to have you screaming like that. I thought someone was trying to kill you."

"I'm fine. Thank you for coming to check up on me. Where is your father?" I asked, just now realizing that Lucas wasn't in bed with me.

"He's with that alpha guy discussing something," Benjamin said, yawning, seeming bored with the subject.

"I see."

The room fell into an awkward quietness before Benjamin began to speak.

"I'm sorry for everything that happened in the past. If I had known you were my mother, I wouldn't have gone after you," he said, not meeting my eyes.

"I'm sorry as well."

"You have nothing to apologize for. You were just defending yourself," he said, shrugging his shoulders like it wasn't a big deal.

"That's not what I mean."

"Oh?"

"When I say I'm sorry, what I mean is. That I'm sorry for not being there to raise you, I would've given anything to have been there," I said, my eyes burning with tears.

"It's fine. Father explained the situation to me when I was old enough to understand. It's not like I'm mad at you or anything," he said, his words as sincere as the look on his face.

Smiling, I reached forward, cupping his face in my hands, taking in his features. He was practically his father's twin, just had my eyes.

Benjamin stared at me with this sadness in his eyes. He leaned into my touch before he spoke.

"It would've been nice to have you around, but we have plenty of time to make up for all the years we missed together."

I pulled him into a hug, his arms tightening around me.

"You know, this is the first time I've held you before," I said.

"Didn't you get to hold me as a baby?" He asked.

"No, the doctors thought you were a stillborn, so they rushed out of the room to work on you. I never got the chance to hold you."

"Hmm," he hummed out.

I tightened my arms around him, rubbing his back as I finally let my tears fall.

"My sweet baby boy."
