(Lucas's pov)

I couldn't help but chuckle as I watched Daryl practicality run away from me. I couldn't really blame him for reacting this way, finding a naked man that he barely knows in Arabella's room. I opened the door to Arabellas' room, walking in as I shut the door behind me.

"Was someone at the door?" Arabella asked as she came out of the bathroom, with only a robe wrapped around her Goddess like body.

"Daryl was looking for you," I said.

"Oh?"

I chuckled as I walked over to one of the armchairs that sat in the room.

"What's so funny?" She asked, giving me a questioning look as she walked over to me.

I pulled her down to my lap as I gave her an amused look.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Let's just say I gave Daryl a little show," I said as Arabella gave me a confused look.

"A show?" She asked before her eyes widened in realization.

"Oh God, please tell me he didn't walk in on you naked," she said as I burst out laughing.

Arabellas cheeks turned scarlet as she buried her face into my chest. I wrapped one of my arms around her as I continued to laugh.

"It's not funny, Lucas," she said, sounding mortified.

"Love, you should've seen his face," I said as she groaned out.

Arabella pulled away enough to look at me with a pouting face. I leaned forward, giving her lips a quick peck as she continued to stare at me.

She gave me a small smile as she leaned up to meet my lips once more. I deepened our kiss, only to be separated by some woman barging into the room.

"Arabella, there's been an attack on the packhouse," the woman frantically said as she walked further into the room. She was covered in blood and soot.

"Caddie, are you alright?" Arabella asked, standing from my lap.

So this is Caddie, I thought as I looked over at her. From what Arabella told me, Caddie was one of the main doctors at the pack house. Occasionally, she would help out here.

"How many injured?" I asked as Arabella looked her over for any serious injuries.

"Twenty injured, so far no fatality's," she said.

"Tell Michael I will be there shortly," Arabella said.

Caddie quickly left the room, leaving us in uncomfortable silence.

"How much do you want to bet that it was Daniel?" Arabella asked.

"More than likely, he's probably furious by now. I'll see if I can't get a hold of Sebastian."

"Who's Sebastian?" She asked.

"He's our older brother," I said.

"I didn't know you had an older brother."

"Sebastian left the family long ago as soon as he had the chance. He left. I can't blame him though, I wouldn've left sooner if I could've," I said.

The room fell silent after that. I walked up to Arabella, wrapping my arms around her shaking form.

"What if I lose him again?" she said in a shaky voice

"I honestly don't think I could bear to lose either one of them again."

"Hey look at me," I said, cupping her face. "I won't let it happen."

"But-,"

"No buts, I won't let him take him, I promise," I said, pulling her closer to me.

I could tell she wanted to believe me, but I just knew there was something in the back of her mind that kept telling her something was going to happen.

Usually her feelings came true, so this wasn't something I was taking lightly.

I wasn't sure when, where or how, but I know at some point, something was going to happen and when it did, it was going to catastrophic.
