"Have you noticed how close Chelsea and Oliver have gotten?" I asked Elizabeth.

"So it wasn't just me who noticed then," she said as she joined me on the balcony, Chelsea and Oliver were currently in the garden, Oliver's head was in Chelsea's lap as she read to him from her book of poetry.

"Do you suppose they're mates?"

"Possibly," I said.

"How are things with Benjamin and Lucas?"

"Good actually, they still won't tell me anything about who took Oliver, though."

"Why are they hiding it from you, well, from everyone, actually?" Elizabeth asked.

"Every time I ask Oliver about it, he shuts down on me, he starts to have panic attacks. Then when I ask Benjamin about it, and Benjamin tells me that he isn't allowed to tell me, and to just be patient, that it's all going to be revealed soon," I told Elizabeth, as the door to my office opened. Lucas walked into the room, stopping once he was in front of me.

"Good evening," Lucas said.

"Good evening," I said in return as Elizabeth remained silent, watching the both of us.

"I was wondering if you would like to join me for a little walk?"

"Now? I'm a little busy at the moment."

I looked back down to where Oliver and Chelsea were at, seeing they were no longer where they had been earlier. They were now walking towards the woods, hand in hand, laughing about something one of them said.

"It's about Oliver," Lucas said, catching my attention.

Judging by the look in Lucas's eyes, I knew he was going to answer the questions I've had for so long.

"If it's Oliver you're worried about, I'm more than happy to keep an eye on him for you," Elizabeth said, finally making herself be known.

Lucas held his hand out to me, waiting for my response. I reluctantly placed my hand on his. As soon as my hand grazed his, his hand tightened around mine, making sure I couldn't pull away. He gave me a warm smile as he pulled me along with him.

"Thank you," I quickly said to Elizabeth as we walked out of the room.

Lucas quickly made use of his teleportation abilities. Clearly, wherever we were going wasn't on the Silver Moon territory. Once we had reached our destination, I looked around, trying to figure out exactly where we were.

It wasn't until I laid eyes on a very familiar Jasmine tree that I realized exactly where we were at. I slowly walked up to the tree, placing my hand on the trunk of the tree, as I sadly smiled at the memories that began to fill my head.

It was the winter I had turned sixteen. I had left the castle to go hunting. I was running through the woods not paying attention to where I was going, then all of a sudden I ran into something, well more of a someone. We both went flying in different directions, landing on the snow-covered ground with a loud thud.

"Are you alright?" a concerned voice asked.

I looked up to see a boy about my age towering over me. I opened my mouth, but no words would come out. I was speechless. He was so beautiful. I knew men weren't supposed to be considered beautiful, but that was the only thing that described him.

His hair was as golden as the sun that rose every day. I felt like I was being drawn to him. I could feel this closeness to him, even though I didn't know him.

"I-I'm ok," I stuttered out.

"G-Good," he said.

It was times like this that I wasn't sure if the redness in his cheeks was from the freezing air that surrounded us, or is he was feeling this connection as well?

The mystery boy moved away from be, before holding his hand out towards me. I reached out, taking his hand as he helped me up.

"What's your name?" He asked me.

"Arabella. What's yours?"

"I'm Lucas."

After that initial meeting, we were inseparable. Lucas had come to the castle with his family on some kind of business trip. While his family was busy with mine, we would sneak off and always come to where we first met, the Jasmine tree.

Every chance we got we would come here, we would talk for hours, or sometimes not at all. We would just enjoy each other's company.

We even shared our first kiss here.

"Our initials that we carved, are still here," Lucas said as he moved next to me.

I ran my fingers over our initials, smiling. I couldn't believe they were still here. I turned to look at Lucas, quickly losing my smile as I met his serious expression.

"What is it, Lucas?"

"Can I ask you something?"

I nodded my head, curious as to what he was going to ask.

"Did you love my brother?" He asked, catching me off guard.

"I'm sorry?" I asked, feeling unsure if I had heard him right.

"Did you truly love Daniel?"

I stood there, staring at Lucas as he waited for me to answer him.

"Honestly?"

Lucas nodded his head.

"We had a good year or so of our marriage, but as far as love goes, then no, I didn't."

Lucas's eyes widened at what I said.

"I was forced to marry Daniel. You can't force love, even though my parents sure tried to make me love him. Daniel gave me Oliver, and I'll forever be grateful for that. Oliver is the best thing I've ever done in my life, but,"

"But?"

"There was always something off about Daniel."

"What do you mean by off?" Lucas asked.

"I don't know. There was just something there. He would sometimes make me feel uncomfortable, unsafe sometimes as well. He would sometimes give off this very dark aura," I said.

"Arabella, I need to tell you something."

"What is it?" I asked.

"Daniel is alive," Lucas said.

"That's impossible. Daryl saw him die," I said.

"I'm not lying to you Arabella. He's really alive. He's also the one who took Oliver."

"What?"

Lucas sighed before he turned away from me.

"Twenty-two years ago, he just showed up one day with Oliver with him. He said he needed me to watch him for a while. I thought it was unusual, especially since our relationship was basically non existent at the time. I agreed, for the main fact that my problem was with my brother and not Oliver, but Daniel stayed gone for over two days."

Lucas walked away from me, keeping his back towards me as he continued.

"I was about to take Oliver back home myself, but then Daniel showed up, covered in blood and soot. I questioned him as to what happened and why he looked like that, but I got told to not stick my nose in business that didn't concern me."

Lucas sighed before turning towards me, guilt written on his face.

"What is it, Lucas?" I asked.

"Do you remember the night that our son was born?" Lucas asked.

"I do, but I don't see what that has to do with Daniel?"

"I didn't have a choice, Arabella," Lucas's voice pleaded with me.

"Lucas, what are you talking about? You're not making any sense."

"Daniel threatened to kill Benjamin. I had to do everything I could to protect our son," he said, taking a step towards me as I took one back.

"W-What?"

"Benjamin is our son," he said.

"That's impossible."

Right before the wedding, I found out I was pregnant with Lucas's baby. My parents were outraged that I had gotten pregnant before marriage, especially by my soon to be husband's bother. Lucas and I begged our parents to let us keep the baby, which they soon agreed to under one condition. That is had to be known as Daniel's child to everyone besides the ones who knew it wasn't.

It was hard to agree to. I didn't want to, but Lucas made the decision for us. Our parents had already taken away the chance of Lucas and I getting married like we wanted to. They weren't going to take away our child. So our parents hurried the date of our wedding to make it seem like a honeymoon baby, but nine months later, things didn't go as planned.

I had been in labour for over twenty hours, I had pushed almost for two. When the baby finally arrived, I was overjoyed, only for that happiness to be replaced by fear.

He hadn't cried.

I remember lying there, waiting to hear our child's beautiful cry, only to be met by silence. I remember crying out to the doctor, asking why he wasn't crying. The doctor just ignored me. He quickly cut the cord as he and his nurse left the room in a hurry.

Neither of them had returned. It was hours later that the doctor returned to the room, telling me that the baby had been a stillborn. I never saw Lucas again after that. I just figured he blamed me for our child's death. That's why he never reached out to me.

"Why are you crying, my love?" Lucas asked as he wiped away the tears I hadn't known I was crying.

"Why are you lying to me, Lucas? We both know that our son died during childbirth. Why are you being this cruel to me with this lie?"

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

"You didn't even come to his funeral," I sobbed out as Lucas held me close to him.

"God. What kind of lie have they told you?"

Lucas pulled away from me, holding my tear-stained face in-between his hands.

"Arabella, I'm not lying to you. I don't know what bullshit your family told you, but I swear that Benjamin is truly ours."

"But the doctor told me-,"

"I went after the doctor that night. They took him to a different room to work on him. They took him there just in case they couldn't get him back, but they did. They worked on him for a few minutes, and then he let out the most beautiful sound I think I've ever heard," Lucas said, his eyes brimming with tears.

"The doctor gave him to me after they cleaned him, said they were going to give you the good news and get you cleaned up and comfortable before I brought him back in to you. Then the next thing I knew, Daniel came into the room. Telling me he'd kill Benjamin if I didn't take him away from the castle. I tried reasoning with him, but you know how Daniel is. He's a hard headed son of a bitch."

"Daniel threatened you and our son?"

"He did. I quickly left the castle after he actually made an attempt to attack us. When I returned home, my parents were demanding why I brought Benjamin home. I tried to explain the situation, but Daniel was their favorite son. I was kicked out of the manor that night, thankfully Sebastian took us in until I got back on my feet."

"Oh God," I cried out as my legs gave out on me.

Lucas quickly caught me as he lowered us to the ground.

"Oh God why," I sobbed out.

I knew Daniel could be a crazy bastard at times, but I never knew he could go this far.

"It's ok my love," Lucas said as he rubbed my back, trying to soothe me.

"He took both of my sons from me, Lucas. I missed everything. All of these years, I thought that you hated me for the death of our child," I admitted.

"Of course not. Even if Benjamin hadn't been resuscitated, I would never have blamed you, Arabella. I just hate you've carried this guilt with you all of these years. I'm so sorry I couldn't tell you that our son was ok," Lucas said as he cradled me closer to him.

I wrapped my arms around his waist, laying my head on his strong, broad chest. I somehow felt complete. I felt like all of my missing pieces had been placed back in their rightful places. Both of my sons were back. Lucas, the love of my life, was finally back in my life again. I know things were going to crash again at some point, but at this moment I couldn't care less.
