Broken Trust and Plans of Revenge
"Please, brother," A young man begged, pounding on the wooden door leading to his younger brother's chamber. Tears were pouring down his face as there was no response. The loud noise of glass shattering was heard from inside of the younger brother's chamber, as the elder brother sobbed outside of the room. "I beg you, please let me in...Just let me in and we can talk," The young man begged, tears sliding down his face and dripping off of his nose and chin. Once again, there was no response from the person inside of the chamber. The brother outside of the chamber's hope was withering further than it had been before he started to beg. He collapsed onto his knees, sobbing as his brother did who knows what in his room.
A different voice was suddenly heard from inside of the room, "You let them do that to me, you let them take me away. I am finally allowed back, but it is not like before. More than anything, even them taking me away for murder that I was not planning on doing, I can not belive that you, dear brother, let them take me away. I was in a dungeon for years, being treated like an animal."
"I am sorry, just let me in," The older brother begged the younger one.
"To be locked away and treated like that again, never. I can not ever trust you again, Robert." The younger one hissed inside his chamber as the sound of glass shattering appeared again.
"Please stop destroying things and let me in, Henry," The older begged again.
"I can not let you in, brother. I can not bare to see what would happen to me if I did let you in. The last time you asked me to let you in, guards flooded into my chamber and carried me off to what felt like Hell." The younger one choked out, trying to hold in his tears.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I could not have done anything to stop it. Father was infuriated when he thought you planned on poisoning both of us. I was also infuriated at the time, thinking you were going to poison father and I." Robert explained, still wanting to help his brother.
"Bloody lies, all of it!" Henry screamed as he lost the battle of fighting tears. Tears slid down his face as he hit his fist against the wall. There is silence as both of the males sobbed on opposite sides of the door. "Just go away," Henry choked out in between his sobs. Nothing but crying is heard as Robert stayed near his brother's door. "Go away," He screamed again, knowing his brother was still near his chamber. Robert took in a shaky breath as he got up and walked away from Henry's chamber.
Henry is seen sitting on the stone floor, his face buried in his hands while surrounded by shards of glass. "W-why did they send me away, I wasn't going to poison them," He sobbed, before moving his face away from his hands. Tears shining on his face from the candlelight in the chamber. He stood up, ignoring the glass as it crunched under his boots. As he walked towards a window he had in the room. "Why did you let me be locked away, if you know what's best why did you let it happen, Lord!" He screamed outside of the window that shows the sun setting. His faith sinking as the sun did over the land.
Henry walked over to a table that held a vase of flowers, a goblet, and a couple of books. He grabbed one of the books and threw it against the stone wall while screaming, "How could you!" Henry then collapsed on the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. Glass pierced his skin as he sobbed, but he ignored the pain as his own pain on the inside was more than any physical pain he had felt before. Nothing could hurt worse than his own brother betraying him, the one he would wake up before dawn to go to the stables and ride steeds with.
Fury overpowered him and he knew that he would get power over his brother. He didn't deserve any power, let alone to be the next king. Henry would be the king, not Robert. Henry stood up, ignoring the pain of glass piercing his skin earlier (some pieces of glass still visible on his legs) and the tears that were now starting to dry on his face. He flung open the wooden door leading to a hall, and walked out of his chamber, fury still visible in his eyes.
