Chapter 8- Matthew
I’m on a roll. I managed to get Angel boy even angrier and got the girl. Now all there is left to do it take her into the portal. Easy as pie. Smiling, as the last bell of the day rang, I walked out of the classroom and down the hallway. All I have to do now is work my charms on her and she’d come willingly like so many others. Since April and Angel boy are fighting, he won’t even have to worry about the Angel. Everything was going perfectly to plan.
I walked out of the front doors of the school and looked down towards where my car was parked. Just as she said, April was waiting for me there. If I was a human, I might have fallen for her. Her wavy golden hair, baby blue eyes and button nose were cute, and I might have considered dating her. The thought almost made me gag. Luckily she wouldn’t be around for much longer. I jogged down the steps and towards her and the car. Sucking up any dignity that I had left, I kissed her on the cheek.
“Ready to go?”
“Yes” She smiled, blushing.

I fumbled around my pocket for the keys and we both got in the car.
As we were driving down Hutsons road, listening to old country music, I noticed that one of my hands on the steering wheel was starting to shine. Crap. I thought I had more time than this.
Turning to April, I pointed out the window, “Hey look at those horses”.
While she was distracted I quickly put gloves on both of my hands. Remember how I explained that we can turn into mortals? Well this is the beginning of the transition. Hands and feet shine first. Then after about 15 minutes, the rest of our body shines. Lastly our eyes change, the colour of the irises turn clear. When the transition completes, we are humans. Because of our eyes, many mortals avoid us. Our home is stripped away from us and we have to defend ourselves.
Being weak and defenceless is a Faeries worst nightmare. I won’t let it be a reality.
