I’ve been standing at Lillipa Lake for what seems like days, but it’s only been a few hours. My powers are starting to slowly dwindle and I know I don’t have a lot of time to claim another soul. See, Faeries like me visit the mortal world to steal (or rather collect) souls from this world and take them to our world (Alesteria). Every soul that we collect in returns restores our powers to full strength and then the clock starts ticking again. The brighter the soul, the time increases. Brighter souls however are very difficult to find. If we go for about 2 weeks or so without bringing a soul into Alesteria, we completely loose our powers and turn into the vermin’s they call humans. 

Our powers involve; very powerful persuading, teleportation, immortality, the ability to sense the brightness of a humans soul and opening the portals to this world and my own. My world is a luscious paradise. Imagine the most beautiful and serene place you can and double that, that is what my world is like. Faeries can’t stay in this world for long, as we need to collect souls and unfortunately, we can only breed with the humans. When the half Faery turns 21, they are plucked from the human world, into Alesteria and are then trained in the ways of a Faery.

I’m not really sure what happens to a human when bought to Alesteria, nor do I even care. They just disappear, never to be seen again. Humans are vermin, like I said, and we use them for our own needs. They are like food and water to us, as well as breeders. Nothing more. So when I saw this April girl today, her soul was one of the brightest I’d seen in centuries. I know I have to bring her into my world, before another Faery finds her and claims her for themselves.

My time is nearly up. I have to work fast.
