CH- 2- I felt drunk
She has been speaking with her friends for over an hour, and I'm annoyed she hasn't seen me yet.
It feels as though I need more shots despite having already consumed two of them. The dull night demands the scorching heat to fill my lungs.
I should have made more friends then. Without anyone to accompany me now, it is difficult. As for why, well, I was focusing all my attention on her, and a little bit on my studies as I wanted to pass the semester.
I walk over to the bar and ask the bartender to make me a drink that would make me forget everything. He bluntly ignored me and just got me a vodka with ice. Well, doesn't it seem like everyone is ignoring me now?
Grabbing hold of the glass, I gulp down the drink in one swift motion and groan as the sensation of heat spreads throughout my body. God, I am never going to drink again.
Taking another one of the shots in my hand, ready to dump them down my throat. I hear a voice behind me. It's the same voice that makes me go crazy every time, a voice I'm all too familiar with. I halt and turn to see if she really is, there. Seeing her up close, I could easily see the same grace and elegance in her body.
I am guessing I look like a statue. No, she hasn't looked at the awkward man right in front of her. she orders the same I ordered, vodka with ice. The bartender is basically gawking at her but responds to her right away by nodding and turning back to get her the drink.
She stares at the table for a second and just simply glances at the room that is filled with chatter and laughter. I am still watching all her moments and she just doesn't turn to my side. She thanks the bartender quickly and takes the lemon from the glass and rubs it along the rim of the glass....wait a minute, why does she get a lemon while I don't? She takes the salt that is on the table and sprinkles it on the rim where she just rubbed the lemon. Wow...she is a master at this.
She takes a sip from the long-awaited drink and gives out a sound of satisfaction. She turns around in time to see the person who she noticed had been staring at her the whole time, and time stopped.
It may seem like an overstatement, but really, when you see someone that you have admired and yearned for a long time. When you see the person you never thought you'd see again, time really does stop.
I don't know for how long we have both been staring at each other but we never wanted to look away. At least it doesn't seem like she wants to. I drank two shots of vodka but.....
At that moment, I felt drunk.
