Chapter 24

When we arrived at the spot Tannin and Jezebel were together. Jezebel sqeaked in fear, "What are you doing here, Gee? Angels? Are you here to kill me?"

Gee shook his head, "No Babylon, I am here to help you."

"I'd rather die than have you help me," She said.

Gee smiled, "That is not for you to choose, your future is written." and he touched her then and a blinding light shot forth from her body and she changed into a human! A blindingly attractive human - had I been single I would have had trouble resisting her. She had that much charisma and beauty.

Gee continued on, "You will not be able to hold this form in the human world, nor will you be able to change again if you change from this form. This is a once off help. When you are done with your egg, you know where to go. When you revert back to being a dragon, you will be in the form required by prophesy."

Jezebel nodded, "I suppose I should thank you. You did not have to help me you could have left me be the last dragon, and are you alright with me going there?"

Gee nodded, "The time of our presence here is at an end, there is no need for it anymore," and with that they left. I guess there was little more for them to say to each other and it did not appear they were friends at all. More like respectful enemies. I went to follow Gee, but I could not find him anywhere, and when I came back to Jezebel she said to me, "Why don't you follow Gee?"

"I do not know him, and my history is tainted against him," I replied, wondering if I would ever accept him, even though he said and I said I would. I am somewhat fickle, I thought.

"Fair enough," she replied, "Just so you know, don't expect Tannin to be of any use to you until I have my egg.

"Oh, why is that?" I arched my eyebrow at her, curious at what she meant but suspecting she wanted to have sex with him as often as she could.

"Because I will be having sex with him," she stated it so matter of factly, I was the one burning red from embarrasment, "I need to have sex with him almost repeatedly it takes alot to make a dragon when one is not of the same heretige, and as there are no other dragons I have to make do with him a 1/4 drow, 1/4 human and 1/2 dwarf. Besides which, he was born only for this purpose. I thought you knew this, I told you often enough."

"I did not understand fully what you meant," I apologised, feeling a bit foolish.

She waved at me, "It's ok, I a going to take him to where I was found. It will be more effective there, and I won't have to deal with the charmed brats I do not want. I am surprised that you are not suffering from it."

"Perhaps Gee gave me immunity," I joked.

"Perhaps," she agreed tilting her head, "Well see you!" and then she left.

Not much later, both Tannin and her left for the dragon egg cave that Sue had found the egg in. I wondered where that was as Sue nor Kell had ever told me. I do not think anyone knew, other then those two, not even Garvan. I found it interesting though, the red lady was their mount, and she returned riderless not long after they left as if she had been sent back.

I could have searched out Elizabeth or AhLee to find out where they went, but I did not see the need. I was not that interested.

That night Caspian arrived saying that Kell and I were needed tomorrow. It was well he came then as Kell was about to go look for Sue having not heard from either of them for awhile.

When I asked Caspian why, he said, "I do not know, Sue was very vague, just telling me to come to here and make sure you both stayed here for her to contact us. I guess she wants us to go to her."

I nodded and I wondered if it was because of what Gee had said to me. Garvan was dying because he had chosen to follow Gee. "Caspian?"

"Yes Glory?" Caspian nodded at me, smiling in his charming way.

"What if Garvan is dying?" I asked him, "What would you do?"

"Garvan? What would kill him? He is young yet!" Caspian dismissed me.

Still I felt as if I should pester him somemore on it, "Well, I think you should think about it Caspian, Garvan may well be dying. He may have chosen to follow his father's beliefs after hearing about them."

"Corvan's?" Caspian questioned thoughtfully, "Why would he do that?" but it did not seem he wanted an answer from me so I excused myself from where I had been found by him and went to my room to rest and think. I drifted to sleep and did not know anything more until morning.

The three of us husbands met and Sue called to us through her marks sounding panicked. Caspian drew the portal up to take us to her. Kell went first, followed by me and then Caspian came last closing the portal behind him.

It seemed to me that Caspian's eyes fell on Garvan, and tears instantly formed in his eyes, but did not fall. Kell was too busy checking Sue out and worrying about her to notice that Garvan was indeed dying. When Kell asked if Sue was sure she was ok I felt I had to step in by saying, "Of course he is sure, if you are worried about anyone, don't you think it should be Garvan? After all he is lying there looking like death with a heartbeat."

It was then Kell looked at Garvan, his eyes widening, "What happened to you?" he asked, "Not to pull any punches here, but you do look like death with a heartbeat."

Caspian then rushed over to Garvan and sat himself next to him brushing his hair with his hand, "Why are you like this, Garvan? This is not supposed to happen till the end of our lives, your end should be a thousand years away."

Garvan shook his head, "I am sorry Caspian, I chose to follow the God of Gods like my father did. This is both my reward and punishment."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked him as I saw Caspian was too distressed to ask himself, as he was crying quietly. I had figured it had something to do with Gee though.

"The God of Gods only allows his people live for 120 years at most and the they die," Garvan explained, "This has always been his decree, but they can join him by being resurrected into the eternal life after they die. It is different to Aine where you get to live the life you want for thousands of years before knowing nothing ever again. In choosing him, we die early, but live forever with him. The lion gets to lie with the lamb."

I understood, sort of, as Gee had said as much, and now I was seeing it first hand, "But how come you are still alive?"

"I am dying," he stated, "I do not have much time left. Every hour I age 10 years chronologically. I guess when I die, my body will continue on until it is dust. I have at best, till nightfall, at worst, till midday."

"I can't follow a God who makes you suffer like this," Caspian decided then, "Why would you choose him?"

"Because he told me of the future, and what he said came to pass," Garvan replied, "I had been considering him for sometime now, seeing Sue's loyalty and struggle for her beliefs. Sue has continued to age normally here too. She should have stopped ageing sometime ago now. Or hadn't you noticed?"

I had noticed that, and I thought it strange, but now that Garvan said it, it made perfect sense. Caspian was silent though and headed out the cave and none of us followed.

"What did Gee tell you?" wondered Kell, finally following the conversation, and not worrying about Sue, although he held her like she was going to disappear again.

"He said that he was going to help Jezebel find her human form before she and Tannin leave for the human world. Jezebel would leave an egg here, but as she uses her power in the real world, the fae would be destroyed. Also that Sue would recover in 3 days and her drow blood will shine through, and as you can see Sue looks like a full drow now."

Kell and I looked at Sue, and she indeed was a shade of purple, "I thought it was the cave light that made her look that way, but now you point it out, I can indeed see that she looks like a full drow."

"Kell," Garvan gasped out, looking to be in pain.

"Yes Garvan?" Kell replied, taking his hand for the first time since arriving.

"Kell, can you please raise my child to know of me and the God of Gods?" Garvan requested him.

"I promise I will look after her," Kell replied.

"No, not just her," He gasped out surpirsing us all with the next request, "For my son too."

"But you don't have a son," Kell said oblivious to the fact Sue was pregnant.

"I do not have yet," Garvan agreed, "But he will make himself known in a few months. I know you have access to a bible, please from it to her daily until the child is borne."

Kell nodded.

Just then Caspian walked back in, and I asked, "Why did you not ask Caspian to look after him?"

Garvan smiled at me, "I love Caspian, but I do not know if he will serve the God of Gods, where as I know Kell does, and he knows him well. I do not want the blind leading the blind. Besides which, Caspian has his own child to worry about."

I nodded understanding then. As things seemed to be unfolding as Gee said, I had a feeling I would be sitting in on those classes too as I wanted to understand better the person called Gee.
