'abomination'

DEREK AND ALYSSA had been arguing for hours after they had arrived back 'home', after he had beaten Scott up, even after Alyssa pleaded for him to stop. She had expressed her feelings about how she didn't know who he was anymore, and it just seemed like he didn't care - so, she left. She couldn't bare to be near him any longer, so she simply packed a bag and headed on her way.
She didn't exactly know where to go, but anywhere was better than with Derek and his bossiness.. She didn't know what she was going to do, but she was going to try and figure it out along the way.
The only place that she could even think about going, was where Scott would be, and that was the vets where he worked - a place that Alyssa didn't necessary like, due to the fact that her brother had almost died there from the magic bullet Kate had shot him with before she had died.
But she had no other choice - she knew the kind of person that Scott was, and she knew that he would help her, no matter what he thought about the situation; from a few hours before, Scott knew that Alyssa wanted to help him, but couldn't, and he didn't blame her one bit for what Derek had done to him.
What sucked, was that she didn't have a car to get to the vets, so she had to walk, in the cold and dark, with a bag of a few of her essentials, without even a hope that she could find somewhere else to stay. Since her childhood home was a no go, and Derek had her trust fund money from her parents until she was eighteen, she was screwed - she didn't know what she was going to do.
There was always Lydia, but Alyssa didn't exactly know if she wanted to even ask Lydia that question.. That, and the girl annoyed her slightly. There was also Stiles, but that thought alone made Alyssa laugh to herself.
It didn't take her long to get to the vets, thank god, but when she did, she hesitated before actually entering the building, scared that they wouldn't want her there. Who could blame them? After everything her brother and uncle had done to the town of Beacon Hills.
The second she stepped forwards, Deaton opened the door with a welcoming smile on his face, like he knew that she was on her way here, and he was waiting for her. It just wasn't good timing, due to the fact the hunters were already on their way down here - just like he thought with Scott.
"Hello, Alyssa." He greeted, causing her to furrow her brows in confusion, before he opened the door wider for her to walk in.
"Hi." She replied, trying to be polite, even if she was a bit scared that he knew she would be here, "Is Scott here?" She asked.
Deaton nodded, but as if he realised something then and then, he closed the door behind her quickly. "He is, but you've come at the worst time possible. They're coming back, so you have to hide." He explained, as she followed him into the back room, where Scott was currently stood, slightly surprised to see Alyssa here.
Alyssa stood awkwardly to the side as Deaton quickly cleaned Scott's wounds that Derek had inflicted on him earlier in the day - she felt awful that she didn't step in and help, but Scott should know that he and her don't have a chance against an alpha..
Scott seemed confused as Deaton cleaned his wound and bandaged him up, causing Alyssa to finally speak up for the first time since entering the small building.
"Your wounds don't heal as quickly when it's done by an alpha." She told Scott, as he looked up at her, "I'm sorry." She said, looking down at the floor sadly.
"It's not your fault. You stopped him in the end." Scott told her, hating that the girl was blaming this on herself, when it wasn't her fault at all. It was Derek's. It would always be Derek's fault..
When Deaton began to explain why he knew about Scott and Alyssa's kind, she stayed back, still feeling awkward, but scared at the same time that the hunters were on their way.
Maybe it would have been best if she would have stayed with Derek, after all, she would have a chance at protecting herself there.
Right now, she was as good as dead, with being an omega - she wasn't with her pack, and didn't plan on going back, so that's what she had become.
It was then, did Alyssa finally notice the body on the table, that had been practically ripped to shreds - probably being what her and Derek had been after.. The thing that killed Isaac's dad.
"Do you know what did it?" Scott asked Deaton, also asking Alyssa the same question.
"No." Deaton said.
Alyssa shook her head at the question, "No, but I know that it killed Isaac's dad." She informed the two of them.
"The Argents will know what did it." Deaton informed the two teenagers, as they now stood next to each other, "And this is the crucial part. They'll have some kind of record, or book. It'll have descriptions, histories, notations of all the things they've discovered." He explained, as Alyssa and Scott listened intently.
"A-All the things? How many things are there?" Scott asked, clearly uneducated with this whole situation.
"A lot." Alyssa told him, knowing exactly what book Deaton had just explained.
Scott was about to respond, asking her if she knew of the book, when they heard tears against the gravel outside, indicating that the hunters had finally arrived.
Quickly, Scott grabbed Alyssa, who nearly dropped her bag in the process, and pulled her into the back room so they could hide - if they were caught here, they were as good as dead.
And yet again, the two were stuck in a small enclosure - with nowhere to go..
——
Alyssa was sent to check up on Stiles, while Scott went to talk to Allison about the book. Alyssa didn't exactly know why she felt a pang in her heart when he informed her that he was meeting her in the dark woods, but she didn't have any option than to forget about it, and check on Stiles.
Even with her heavy bag, she made it to the garage in no time, seeing Stiles sitting on the edge of the ambulance, with his hands on his head in stress.
Seeing that he was all alone, Alyssa picked up her pace, before she finally reached the skin head boy, and sat next to him, causing him to look up at her in confusion and slight fear, afraid that she was going to do something similar to what Erica had done to him a few hours before.
"What are you doing here?" Stiles asked her, confused to no end about why she was currently sat next to him, and not with Derek and the rest of the pack.
Alyssa turned to look at him, putting her back on the floor in the process to get comfy on the edge of the ambulance, "Scott sent me to check up with him. He's with Allison, but said he'll come as soon as he can." She informed Stiles.
Stiles rolled his eyes at the girls words, finding it typical of Scott to be with Allison right now when he had been attacked by a damn lizard.
"Figures." Stiles mumbled, clearly not in the mood for a sarcastic remark - he was tired, and still terrified that he had almost died to that thing back in the garage.
Alyssa sighed at his word, knowing that he must be truly affected by what he had seen in the garage, "Are you okay?" She asked sincerely, shocking both of them that she was actually being nice for once.
"Are you?" Stiles directed the question back at her, noticing that she was also acting different - and the fact she had a bag with her, that he could clearly see was filled with clothes, made her even more suspicious.
"Why have you got a bag with you?" He asked, motioning towards her bag full of clothes. It seemed like the both of them had been affected by something in some way.
Alyssa shrugged, "I'm selling my clothes." She lied to Stiles, the boy clearly believing her - he liked to believe that he had finally figured her out, and had a small idea of when she was lying, and right now, she was lying to him.
"I don't need to be a werewolf to know you're lying." He told her, facing her fully. "If I tell you what happened to me, you tell me what happened to you, deal?" He asked her.
When Alyssa nodded, he finally explained everything that had happened in the garage, with the lizard creature crushing a man to death, and paralysing Stiles from the neck down - he felt weird having to relive the moment again by explaining it to this girl, but it felt good that he could talk about it with someone who actually knew about the supernatural side of Beacon Hills.
Alyssa was actually here for him, unlike Scott - and that was saying something..
"Your turn." He eventually told Alyssa, as she was trying to take all of the information in - she and Derek had been trying to find out what this thing was, and the fact that Stiles had seen it, was huge; maybe this would be the thing they needed in order to kill it.
But she sighed in sadness, when she realised that she and Derek weren't a team anymore, and she had to go on alone, with Scott and Stiles, if they let her..
"I fought with Derek." She began, after a few seconds of debating if she should explain to Stiles about what had happened. He seemed to be interested in what she had to say, which was more than she could say for Scott, who rushed off to find Allison.
"After he beat Scott, that was it for me. He isn't the person he was before he was an alpha." She told him - sparing the details which she was sure he didn't need.
Stiles nodded at his words - he had never been fond of Derek, but he knew how much Alyssa liked the man, so he just felt sorry that she had to go through this with her own family. He can't imagine what would happen if he fought with his dad like this..
"Where're you gonna go?" Stiles eventually asked her, not sure if he should have asked it or not. She can't exactly sleep on the streets; as much as the girl had screwed over him and his friend, she didn't deserve what Derek was doing to her. She was a good person, even if it was deep, deep down.
Alyssa shrugged, not exactly knowing the answer to that yet; she didn't know why Stiles actually cared about what she was doing with her life. Maybe this was what it was like to have a friend, as she had never had one before.
It felt nice.
A car pulling up besides them had interrupted their conversation, and when they looked to the left, they saw Scott in his mom's car, finally being done with Allison.
Alyssa followed Stiles to get into the car, not before picking up her bag, and the second they got in, Scott was already asking questions like he hadn't taken around an hour to get here..
"You're right. It's not like you." Stiles told Scott, hating that he had to explain everything again. "I mean, it's eyes were almost like, reptilian." He explained.
"But there was something about 'em." He continued.
"What do you mean?" Alyssa and Scott happened to ask at the same time - he hadn't explained this to Alyssa, that's for sure.
"You know when you see, like, a friend in a Halloween mask, but all you can actually see are their eyes, and you feel like you know them, but you just can't figure out who it is?" Stiles tried explaining to his best ability.
Alyssa didn't have a clue what he was talking about, as one, she had never celebrated Halloween before, and two.. She doesn't have any friends.
"Are you saying you know who it is?" Scott asked, piecing together what he meant.
"No." Stiles denied, "But I think it knew me."
Alyssa leaned back into the chairs in the back of the car, sighing heavily, "Well, this just makes things ten times harder." She told the two of them, who nodded at her statement.
Stiles yawned slightly, causing Scott to put the car into drive, "I'll take you home." He said, feeling bad that he wasn't there to help Stiles out. If he wouldn't have been attacking Derek and trying to fix his wound, he would have been with Stiles, and maybe this wouldn't have happened, and maybe that guy wouldn't have died..
Most of the drive to Stiles was silent, with Alyssa trying to figure out where to go, and Scott and Stiles just.. Tired. It had been a long day.
When they pulled up outside of Stiles' home, he looked back at Alyssa, who seemed to be deep in thought, "Come on." He said, opening his door.
Alyssa shook her head to bring herself back to reality, "Come where?" She asked him, not moving.
"You're staying at mine, can't have you on the streets." He told her, moving around to open her door and take her bag, not wanting to take no for an answer.
Alyssa looked at Stiles confusingly, before looking back at Scott, who smiled and nodded at her. She laughed slightly, before finally agreeing to Stiles' suggestion - she couldn't believe that after everything she had done to these boys, they would be so nice as to allow her into her home.
She thinks she may have found her new pack. Her new family..
