DEREK COULD SENSE the tension between the two teenagers as they drove towards Isaac's house, but he didn't comment, wanting to help Isaac out - that was all that mattered at the moment, nothing else.
They had made it to the boys house by the time it got dark, and Alyssa couldn't help but feel strange for being in Isaac's house, knowing exactly what he had to go here. She knew that Derek didn't feel right here either, but they had to show Scott what had gone down, wether they liked it or not.
Scott had always thought that he knew everything, but he didn't.. Derek was always one step ahead of him.
"If Isaac didn't kill his father, who did?" Scott asked quietly, as he held the flashlight and looked around the eerie house.
The annoying thing was that the Hale siblings just didn't know. As much as they wished they did, they didn't know a thing, for the first time.
"We don't know yet." Derek answered, keeping an eye out to make sure no one saw them in the closed off house.
"Then how do you know he's telling the truth?" Scott then asked, not believing that someone else could have killed Isaac's father.
Alyssa couldn't help but scoff at his question, "Have you met Isaac?" She asked Scott.
She had seen Isaac around before he had been bitten, and he was one of the most sweetest boy she knew, she can't imagine him killing anyone.
"And I trust my senses." Derek then told Scott, "And it's a combination of them, not just your sense of smell."
Alyssa had to look away at the fact Derek had mentioned what Scott did at practice earlier on in the day - of course she had to text her brother about what he did, she just felt bad for Scott, as it was pretty embarrassing.
When Scott looked over at her and noticed that she was looking away in guilt that she had told Derek, he sighed.
"You heard about the lacrosse thing today." He stated, disappointed in himself.
"Yeah." Derek agreed, keeping a straight face.
This was when Scott looked back over at Alyssa, who was finally looking back at the two of them, "Did it look that bad?" He asked her.
Alyssa smiled awkwardly, nodding along to his question, while Derek gripped Scott's shoulder to make him feel better.
"No one will remember tomorrow." Alyssa then told him, patting his chest before making her way towards Isaac's basement, finally being able to show Scott what the siblings had been hiding this whole time.
Scott sighed, before following behind her, with Derek not far behind, "You wanna learn?" Derek asked, pulling Alyssa to a stop, so Scott could do this on his own.
"Let's start now." He said.
Alyssa was slightly disappointed, as she was hoping that she could have helped him discover more of his senses, as she had been there along the way when he had first been turned.
She watched as he began to take slow steps down the stairs, "What's down there?" He asked.
"Motive." Derek answered, hoping that Scott would get it.
"And what am I looking for?" Scott then asked.
Alyssa opened her mouth to tell him, only for Derek to nudge her slightly, indicating for her to shut up.
Derek didn't understand what has been up with his sister lately; when she was first given the task to watch out for Scott and help him transition, she hated the idea.
Now, it seemed as if she wanted to be near him - the fact that Alyssa thought Derek hadn't noticed, annoyed him, as he wasn't stupid. Anyone with eyes could tell that the two were getting along a lot better than before, maybe even too much.
Derek was hoping that he wouldn't have to step in at any point..
"Follow your senses." He finally told Scott, not giving him any clues whatsoever - Scott needed to learn, and this was exactly how he was going to do it.
It didn't take Scott long to find out what Isaac had been hiding from everyone - even his closest friends.
Finally seeing that Isaac had been locked in a fridge for most of his childhood, shocked Scott greatly, as it was the last thing that he expected..
"This is why he said yes to you!" Scott complained, before turning to Alyssa, "You picked him out."
"He wanted power, Scott." She told him, crossing her arms over her chest.
Yet again, Scott believed that he was right, and everyone else was wrong.. Isaac needed that bite, and Derek gave it to him, no matter what Scott thinks, it was Isaac's decision, no one else's.
Scott shook his head in disappointment, causing Alyssa to sigh at the fact she had let him down again.
"If we help you, then you have to stop." He told Derek.
Scott couldn't handle more students being bit - it was too much. "You can't just go around turning people into werewolves."
"I can if they're willing." Derek fought back, knowing that he was right.
They needed all the power they could get with the hunters becoming more and more power hungry.
"Did you tell Isaac about the Argents?" Scott then asked Derek. "About being hunted?"
"I did." Alyssa confirmed, finally standing up for herself, "And he still said yes. He wanted it."
"Then he's an idiot." Scott defended.
"Not everyone is like you, Scott!" Alyssa then argued, as the two began to have a heated argument in the basement of the house.
However, Derek was quick to step in.
"And you're the idiot dating Argent's daughter." Derek then stood up for his sister.
Alyssa didn't have to tell him about the two being together, again, he wasn't blind. He had seen Scott sneaking around, and he had also seen how it was affecting his sister, and he didn't like it one bit.
Scott looked at Alyssa with a surprised facial expression, "You told him?" He asked, disappointed that she couldn't keep his secret.
Alyssa instantly shook her head at the boy, "I didn't tell him anything, why do you always assume things?" She scoffed, walking away from him in anger.
He had always underestimated her, and was always so quick to point fingers - she hated it; she was nothing but kind to Scott, and he just threw it back in her face.
"She didn't have to tell me." Derek then spoke, turning back to Scott after watching his sister strop off, "If I know your little secret, how long do you think it's gonna take for them to find out? You saw what happens to an omega.. With us, you learn how to use all of your senses, with us, you learn control.."
When Scott's claws began to grow due to his anger and the fact it was a full moon, Alyssa shook her head at the fact he didn't have full control of his shifting.
Scott wasn't paying attention to his werewolf side enough, and that could get him killed - she just wanted him to realise that he needed Derek.
"Even on a full moon." Derek finished, holding up Scott's hand so he could see it for himself.
Alyssa was lucky that she could control herself - thanks to Derek she hadn't lost control on a full moon in years.
But.. with Scott testing her lately, she didn't know if that would carry on.
"If I'm with you, I lose her." Scott then told Derek.
Derek shook his head, "You're gonna lose her anyway." He said, "You know that."
——
Alyssa wanted to stay and help Scott with the full moon, as much as he had upset her and annoyed her, she knew what it was like to not have control of your own body.
However, Derek had convinced her to help out with Isaac, needing all of the power he could get, knowing that she could keep in control along with him.
When Scott told the Hale siblings that he was going to call Allison, Alyssa couldn't help but feel disappointed, but nonetheless, had to carry on with the task at hand, and that was getting Isaac out.
Stiles had come and picked the siblings up, and within ten minutes, they were waiting outside of the sheriff station, figuring out a plan of how to get inside undetected.
"Okay, now the keys to every cell are in a password protected lockbox in my fathers office." Stiles began to explain, "The problem is getting past the front desk."
Alyssa looked over at the building, to see that a woman was at the reception area, meaning that Derek could definitely charm her in order for her and Stiles to sneak past.
"I'll distract her." Derek said, reading Alyssa's mind. As he began to get out of the car, Alyssa began to follow, only for Stiles to grab hold of Derek's arm, causing Alyssa to furrow her brows in confusion at what made him think Derek would be okay with that..
"You?" He asked, "You're not going in there."
It was the face that Derek gave him, that made Stiles let go of him in an instant, scared due to the last time he annoyed the man, his head was smashed into the steering wheel. "I'm taking my hand off." He said.
"I was exonerated." Derek stated, knowing that he had every right to be in the sheriffs station.
"You're still a person of interest." Stiles then explained.
This caused Alyssa to finally stick her head forwards and send Stiles an evil look, "I wonder why that is." She said, watching as he shrunk back from her glare.
"He's innocent. They should know that." She then spoke.
"An.. Derek? Yeah right!" He laughed, only, his smile faded once he saw that the two siblings didn't find it funny in the slightest.
Stiles sighed, "Okay, fine.. What's your plan?"
Alyssa sent Stiles a smirk after they had successfully snuck past the front desk after Derek had distracted the woman. Stiles simply replied with an eye roll, as he guided Alyssa towards his fathers office in order for them to grab the keys.
Although, when Stiles had entered the numbers for the lock, the key wasn't in there.
"I thought you said there was a key in there?" Alyssa asked, taking a closer look to find out a key was nowhere in sight.
"There should be." Stiles replied, not knowing where the key had gone.
When they both heard keys jingle in the distance, and Alyssa could clearly smell blood, she grunted in frustration before running off towards the commotion.
As she entered the hallway, she saw a blood trail, and decided to follow it quickly, needing to find those keys and fast - if they didn't get Isaac out now, god knows what he could do to the whole station. He could rip them all apart if he wanted to. He was dangerous.
Alyssa kept her eyes trailed on the ground as she followed the trail, however, she wasn't concentrating nearly as much as she should be, and within two seconds, she had been pushed into the wall by an unknown man, and sent to the floor, before a kick was sent into her face, sending her out cold..
Stiles didn't know what to do when he saw this, and his eyes widened once he saw that the hunter was trying to inject Wolfsbane into Alyssa, "Hey!" He called, without thinking, gaining the hunters attention.
After that, the hunter had his focus on Stiles, and grabbed him instead of Alyssa, leaving the girl passed out on the floor, and taking the teenage boy into the holding cells, so he could get his job done and get the werewolf locked in there.
Alyssa woke up with a gasp once she heard the fire alarm blast throughout the station, and as soon as she opened her eyes, she knew where she was and what had happened.
With a groan, she pushed herself up as quickly as she could and sprinted towards the holding cells, just in time to witness Isaac trying to kill the hunter.
Knowing that they couldn't murder him, she instantly rushed towards Isaac, and shoved him, hard, causing her to fully shift.. Something that she didn't do on a full moon due to the fact she could easily lose control.
Roaring loudly, she crouched in a fighting stance as she watched Isaac get back up with a glare in his eyes, also fully shifted. The two were about to pounce, when their alpha finally entered the room, gaining back Alyssa's attention, however, not enough to help her fully transform back into her human form.
It was when Isaac began to stalk towards Stiles, did Derek finally lose patience and roar louder than the two betas combined, causing the two to shift back.
Falling to her knees, Alyssa sighed as her facial features shifted back to her human form, and she leaned against the wall in exhaustion at how much energy shifting had taken out of her.
"How did you do that?" Stiles asked, out of breath due to his fear.
After glancing at Alyssa to make sure she was okay, Derek looked back towards Stiles.
"I'm the alpha."
