WHEN DEREK HALE became the new alpha, things began to change in the town of Beacon Hills, and Alyssa didn't know how to feel about it. Lydia had been bitten my Peter, Kate Argent was finally dead, and the hunters were now searching harder than they ever have before.
The Hale siblings had to move, with their house becoming a crime scene, and now they lived in an abandoned subway, like homeless people. To say their lives had changed, was an understatement.

Alyssa hadn't spoken to Scott and Stiles since the incident with Peter, and she had stuck with Derek, avoiding her old friends like the plague. Derek had advised her to do so, and being her new alpha, that's what she was doing.
She had been going to school, and as soon as she finished, she would go straight back to her brother and carry on the search for their new beta - Alyssa's job was to find someone in her year that would want the bite.
She had an idea of who to choose, the boy who worked in the graveyard; he was a loser, and had a dad who clearly beat him, so, who better to give the bite than Isaac Lahey?

As she walked into the school, she kept her eyes on the boy, watching his every move, making sure she knew about him before she suggested to her brother that he gives the boy the bite. As she was watching him, she heard someone approach her from behind - when she smelt Scott, she didn't even look his way, not interested in what he had to say to her.
"What are you and Derek up to?" Is all he asked her, not bothering to greet her after a couple of days of not seeing each other.

Alyssa sighed, and finally turned to face Scott, ignoring the passing students in the hallway besides them. "We all have our secrets, Scott." She told him, before walking away from him with a smirk, knowing that she had bothered him.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, jogging to catch up with her.
He hadn't seen her in a few days and he couldn't believe that this was the first thing she had to say to him.
From across the hallway, Allison was secretly watching from her locker - for a while, she had been feeling suspicious about Alyssa and Scott's behaviour towards each other, and she couldn't help but feel scared; she didn't want Scott to leave her.

"It means, you have your secrets, I have mine." Alyssa replied, stopping besides him and looking up.
She knew what what Scott and Allison had been up to, and it upset her that they hadn't broken it off, and she wasn't sure why. She guessed that she thought she and Scott had a closer relationship than this, and that he felt comfortable telling her things, after all they've been through.
"I know about you and Allison."

Scott reacted quickly by taking her arm and pulling her into the closest classroom, and shutting the door behind him.
"How do you know about that?" He asked her, not understanding how she could possibly know about him and Allison, as they had tried their hardest to keep it a secret.

"It doesn't matter how I know, are you stupid?" She snarled, thinking that he was quite possibly, the most stupid person she had ever known, "If Argent finds out, he will kill you."

"Why do you care?" Scott retorted, not understanding why she was being so defensive about him being with Allison.
Alyssa scoffed in response, before turning to leave, causing Scott to panic slightly - this was the first time he had seen the Hale girl since Peter died, and he didn't want to admit it, but he missed her.
"Wait." He spoke, causing her to pause at the door, "I love her."

The words struck Alyssa in ways that she didn't understand - she didn't know why.
Without another word, she left Scott alone in the classroom, wanting to be away from him. She didn't understand her feelings, but if there was one thing she was going to do, she was going to avoid them like the plague, like Hale's do.
Besides, Derek would kill her if he knew any of what she was thinking..

"He had blood coming out of his nose?" Alyssa asked Derek, as they walked through the woods in the middle of the night, searching for Lydia - the last thing they needed was for another werewolf to end up dead.
After she had the conversation with Scott, Derek had found her, and how no one in the school questioned why an older man was there, Alyssa wouldn't know; but the fact that Jackson hadn't turned yet, and he was bleeding, meant that he was rejecting the bite, and he would probably be dead soon.

Alyssa didn't like the boy, but it's not like she would wish him dead - Derek shouldn't have even bitten Jackson in the first place, but she knew why he did it.. He wanted him dead. And Alyssa didn't exactly know how to feel about it.
She really thought things would change when Peter died and Derek became the alpha, but he's starting to prove her wrong, and she didn't know what to think.
It seemed as if everything had gone downhill since Derek became the alpha, at least, in Alyssa's eyes..

"He's rejecting the bite." Derek replied, keeping his eyes peeled, "The only question is, why has it taken this long for this to happen." He spoke, speaking his thoughts out loud.
Normally, when someone rejected the bite, it would happen a lot quicker than it would with Jackson; he had no clue what to do.
When Alyssa shrugged, not exactly knowing what to say to him, he carried on, "Any more information on Isaac?"

Alyssa nodded at him, "He's apart of the lacrosse team." She informed him, after remembering following him a few hours before, "So he'll probably be more prone to wanting the bite, he'd want to be more powerful and get a better position in the team."

Derek smiled at the information, glad that he had his sister in his pack, she was one of the smartest girl he knew.
"And Scott?" He asked.

Alyssa froze, and tensed at the sound of his name.
"What do you mean?" She asked - scared if he knew what the two spoke about today, or what she was feeling, and trying to push back.

"Any updates on him and Allison?" Derek asked, not understanding his sisters sudden panic.

"Oh." Alyssa sighed, feeling relieved.
"Not really, I told him it was dangerous, but you know Scott, he's not going to stop seeing her." She told him. "He's suspicious of what we're doing, though. I didn't tell him anything."

Derek nodded again, "Good. He can't know." He told her.

Their conversation came to a stop once they heard voices and struggles in front of them, and their eyes widened.
When Alyssa listened more intently, she heard Scott shouting 'wait', and she sighed in frustration, wondering what the hell he was doing in the middle of the woods at this time.
When the Hale's exchanged a look, they both knew what to do, and within seconds, they were both sprinting towards the noise.

Derek ran ahead of Alyssa, and when she came to a stop by a tree, she saw another werewolf, hanging up by a tree after tripping a wire from the hunters, and she instantly became scared, knowing that they were near.
She looked to the side to see Derek dragging Scott towards her, trying his hardest to keep the kid still, and she rolled her eyes at the sight - Scott was always trying to help people when he shouldn't be.

"Scott, stop being stupid!" She spat, before helping Derek drag him back.
Both of the Hale's had a death grip on him, as they hung back, waiting to see what the hunters were going to do - Scott, on the other hand, was still struggling, not understanding the situation.

"I can help him!" He whispered, still struggling.

"They're on their way!" Alyssa replied, gripping Scott tighter.
It was at this moment, that the hunters all came into view, glaring at the werewolf dangling in the middle of them; Alyssa's heart stopped at the sight, scared that they were going to find them all.

She crouched in front of Scott as he was held back by Derek, and they all stayed in the shadows so they wouldn't be seen.
When Argent got out his baton, he pushed it into the werewolf, and he screamed out in pain, causing Alyssa to finch at the noise - she hated that she couldn't do anything to help him.
When she felt Scott struggle again against her back, she looked up at him, and put her finger to her lip, to indicate that he should shut up. They couldn't do anything, and making themselves known would just get them killed - there were too many hunters, they were outnumbered.

After this encounter, he seemed to calm down slightly, seeing the frantic and pleading look on the girls face. When he saw just how terrified she was, he knew that this wasn't a good situation, and that he should listen to the Hale's.

"Who are you?" Argent asked, "What are you doing here?"

"Nothing." The lone werewolf replied, shaking in fear, "Nothing, I swear."

When another man started speaking, Scott instantly recognised him as Allison's grandfather - sending shivers down his spine.
Alyssa, on the other hand, had no clue who he was, but he looked terrifying, and she wanted nothing to do with the man.

When the werewolf said that he came looking for the new alpha, Alyssa looked up at Derek with a look, not expecting new werewolves to already be searching for her brother..
She had to look away from the sight when the werewolves head was cut off from his body - she literally turned around, and hid her face into Scott's chest.
He instantly responded by wrapping his arm around her to give her some comfort, as he didn't exactly like the sight either - he knew that this was bad news - they all needed to watch out from now on.

"What are they doing?" Scott asked Derek.

"Declaring war."
