'code breaker'

ALYSSA HALE NEVER thought that moving back to Beacon Hills would be so hard - she thought that she and her brother would find their older sister, alive, and they would have caught whoever was causing the murders with no effort at all. Only, it seemed to be a harder task than necessary once they found their sister dead, and the new alpha title had moved onto someone else.
Through meeting new friends, and feeling things that the girl had never felt before; she couldn't deny that she has had a good time since moving to the supernatural town. Although she hated to admit it.
The second the two teenage werewolves got away from the school, they had relaxed a little. Alyssa had carried on walking forwards, only to look back, and realise that Scott had stopped, and was now drowning in his sorrows on the side of the road.
"What are you doing?" She asked, incredulously, before rushing over to him and attempted to lift him up. Her attempts failed when he slouched further back into the ground.
"Allison knows." He mumbled, looking down at the ground.
He couldn't believe that the girl he loved had now found out about his secret - he was planning on revealing it to her in a better way, now he feared that she hated him.
"Yeah." Alyssa dead-panned, the last thing she was worrying about was Scott and Allison's relationship.
"Now, come on. We gotta find Derek." She spoke, attempting to pull him back up, this time, succeeding.
"Derek can help keep Allison safe." Scott spoke, causing Alyssa to look at him in shock.
"Is that all you care about?" She scoffed, "After all Derek has done for you!" Alyssa argued.
"He caused this!" Scott defended, raising his arms in defeat.
"No he didn't!" Alyssa shouted, causing an echo to drift throughout the empty street they were currently standing on.
"He has done nothing but help you since you got bit! So have I! All you've done is throw it back in our faces!" She carried on.
Scott instantly shrunk in his spot, he didn't expect Alyssa to shout at him, and the fact that her eyes had began to glow in anger, made him worry that she would loose control.
He knew that Derek was her anchor, and it's how she kept in control, so the fact that he wasn't here, worried him.
"Liss, you have to calm down." He spoke, holding his hands up in surrender.
Alyssa tried to breathe in and out to calm herself down, but to no avail; she couldn't do it.
"I can't." She panted, trying to keep her wolf inside, "I need Derek."
Scott shook his head, not knowing what to do - he could barely control his anger, mind helping someone else with theirs. "Just imagine that Derek is next to you. Picture his face." He said.
Alyssa closed her eyes and shook her head after a minute of silence, "It's not working." She spoke, still breathing in and out heavily.
Scott didn't think twice when taking both of Alyssa's hands in his own, before looking her in the eyes.
"Breathe in." He spoke, showing her an example of him taking a deep breathe, "And out."
A few moments passed of the two teenagers breathing in and out, and Alyssa had finally calmed down and her breathing had gone back to normal.
Slowly, the yellow glow in her eyes had finally disappeared, and her usual brown eyes had come back.
She looked up at Scott with a thankful look, "Thanks." She spoke quietly.
She felt embarrassed that she had a breakdown in front of the boy, but she couldn't help herself, she wanted to get Derek back, and she needed him now.
Scott smile at Alyssa, and the two were gazing into each other's eyes, until the girl coughed, breaking them apart, causing Scott to finally let go of her hands and drop them. He had forgotten all about Allison finding out his secret - all that mattered now, was that Alyssa was okay.
"So, what's the plan?" She asked, getting back to business with finding Derek.
"I need to go to the vets." Scott spoke, causing Alyssa to furrow her brows in confusion.
"What? Why?" She asked, not understanding why they needed to go there, what they needed to do, was go to the woods and start searching for her brother.
She realised that she should have started doing that since the beginning, but she was completely useless on her own against a bunch of hunters; she didn't want to admit it, as she had been doing good on her own without Derek, but she needed Scott to help her, since Peter was out of the equation.
"I just do." Scott replied, not telling her the reason as to why.
"We need to be searching the woods, he could be dead for all we know." She reasoned.
"I need to know the truth, Scott."
When Scott didn't reply, she sighed in frustration, "You don't trust me? After everything?" She asked in disbelief.
Scott finally shook his head, figuring that it was about time he told her the truth about Peter.
"It's about Peter..."
____
Alyssa still couldn't fathom the fact that her uncle could intentionally kill her sister.. When Scott first told her, she had denied the truth and insisted that he was wrong, but, when the evidence was shown to her, she couldn't help but feel stupid that she believed Peter when he told her that he had done everything he had for a reason.
What could possibly be the reason for killing your own niece? She couldn't believe it.
When Scott had the perfect idea to call for Derek with their roars, she couldn't help but wonder why she and Peter hadn't thought of that before.
Instantly shifting into their wolf forms, the two ran like they had never run before, and headed towards the highest point in town, in attempt to roar for Derek to hear, in hopes that he would return the favour, allowing them to locate them.
Once they had reached the top of the woods, they looked towards each other and nodded, before releasing the biggest roar they had ever done.
Alyssa was impressed with Scott's roar, considering how his first one had ended up, and she couldn't help but smile at him once they had both finished.
Only, that smile was interrupted when Derek had responded..
Alyssa furrowed her brows in thought, "I'm pretty sure I know where that came from." She announced, looking out at the town of Beacon Hills - the place she could comfortably call her home.
It was Scott's turn to hold a look of confusion, as he looked at Alyssa expectantly, "Where?" He asked.
"Home."
As Alyssa approached her burnt down family home, she couldn't help but cringe at the sight, as the last time she was here, the hunters had invaded and essentially taken Derek into the dungeon, allowing her and Scott to escape.
The second the two moved closer to the house, they heard a hunter beating Derek, so Alyssa had to drag Scott along to get him to hurry up. She couldn't bear to listen to her brother being abused any longer.
"To be honest. My knuckles are kind of hurting. So I brought some help." The hunter spoke, as he raised his baseball bat in the air.
Luckily, Alyssa had arrived just in time, before he took a swing; Derek saw his little sister behind the hunter, and couldn't control the smirk on his face.
"But I need to warn you. I used to play in college."
As the hunter swung the bat forward, Derek broke one of his hands free from his ties, and grabbed the bat before the hunter got the chance to hit him.
"I brought a little help, too." He spoke, before nodding at Alyssa, giving her the 'okay' to go forwards.
Alyssa instantly smiled and brung her fists down on the man's head, causing him to instantly pass out and drop to the floor, causing her to glare at his passed out body.
As she began to walk forwards to help Derek out of his restraints, Scott was at her side in an instant, attempting to hold her back so he could talk to Derek first.
"What are you doing?" She hissed at him, attempting to pull her arm back from his hold, only to have no success.
"Guys, help me with this." Derek spoke, as he ripped off the wires from his stomach.
"No." Scott replied, causing both of the Hale siblings to glare at him.
"What?" They both asked at the same time.
Alyssa didn't understand why he couldn't ask Derek for help after they all got away from the hunters.
"Not until you two tell me how to stop Peter." He said, sticking with his plan, that he obviously hadn't told Alyssa about.
He had already told her about Peters true intentions and what he had actually done, but she still didn't want to stop him; after all, he was only getting revenge on the people who caused the fire that killed her entire family.
"You really want to talk about this right now?" Derek snapped, looking at Scott in disbelief.
He couldn't believe the boy right now, and neither could Alyssa, he could tell by the look on her face.
"He's going after Allison and her family." Scott revealed to Derek.
Alyssa sighed, she knew that Derek wasn't going to care one bit about Allison or the Argents, and to be honest, she couldn't either.. Sure, she'd miss Allison, but it's just one less hunter to have to deal with.
"He's going to kill them."
"So what?" Derek shouted, getting fed up of the boys words.
"So, tell me how to stop him." Scott kept going, still holding onto Alyssa.
He had managed to gather enough strength to keep her held back, as he wanted nothing but to keep Allison alive. If it meant hurting her feelings, then so be it.
"You can't!" Derek yelled, "All right? Now, let Alyssa go and help me down!" He ordered.
"Yeah, Scott." Alyssa agreed, "We don't know when Kate's going to come back, we should get him out now." She tried to reason with him, in a soft tone.
She didn't want to anger him at the moment, as he was already geared up from standing up to Derek..
Scott shook his head at her, "He has to promise he'll help me." He told her, causing Alyssa to sigh in frustration.
"You want me to risk mine and my sisters life for your girlfriend, huh?" Derek scoffed. "For your stupid little teenage crush that means absolutely nothing? You're not in love, Scott. You're sixteen years old. You're a child."
Alyssa couldn't help but feel slightly upset with Derek's words, as she couldn't help but feel like they were also directed at her, and he was calling her a child.
It hurt.
She shook her head at her brother, before turning back to Scott, "Look, Scott. Just tell him." She said, causing Scott to nod and pull out the piece of paper he had taken from the vets.
She watched as Scott explained Peters intentions and what he had done to their sister, and couldn't help but feel a stabbing pain in her heart upon listening to it once more - she still couldn't believe that her uncle would do something like that to his own family.
He used to be her favourite relative, and she used to be his.. She didn't know what happened.
It was then, that Derek yanked his other hand out of the chains, due to the anger and betrayal he was currently feeling.
"I'll help you."
After a long walk through the tunnels under the house, the three werewolves finally made it above ground, and were now attempting to get out of dodge before the hunters returned and killed them all.
But, after finally getting out, Derek stopped the two teens in their tracks.
"Hold on." He panted, exhausted from the amount of energy that he had to use. Once he saw the teenagers turn around to look at him, he carried on, "Something doesn't feel right."
Alyssa furrowed her brows and looked around at their surroundings - she couldn't help but agree with him, surely, someone would have caught them by now.
"Yeah, I feel that too." She agreed with her brother, sending him a nod.
With Scott having no common sense, he didn't understand what the Hales were talking about.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I don't know.. It was.. It was kind of like it was.." Derek trailed off, not exactly knowing the answer.
"No, don't say 'too easy'!" Scott interrupted, causing Alyssa to jump slightly at his tone of voice.
"People say 'too easy' and bad things happen." He carried on. "What, you think finding you was easy? Getting away from Allison's dad? None of this has been easy!"
Alyssa looked at Scott with slight shock, she had always wondered when he would crack, she jus never thought it would be now, of all the time.
"He's right, Derek." She finally spoke up, "Don't jinx us. Let's just.. Get out of here."
She began to walk towards Derek, to help him walk, but, when she did, an arrow flew in front of her and lodged itself into her brothers shoulder, causing her to stumble backwards into Scott, as they both fell down to the ground.
Scott caught her as they fell, and just as they did, another arrow came through the air and lodged the next arrow into Derek's leg, as the other two werewolves cowered on the ground in shock, noticing that it was Allison who was firing the arrows at them.
When Alyssa heard Kate speak the words 'flash bolt', her eyes widened, and she could hear Derek hell at them o covet their eyes, but she was too concentrated on the fact that one of her best friends had just fired an arrow and her brother.
Alyssa attempted to get up in order to head towards her brother, but when she did, she was blinded by the light, allowing another arrow to fly through the air and lodge itself into her shoulder, sending her flying to the ground in pain.
Instantly, after seeing his sister go down, Derek yanked his two arrows out of his skin and ran to Alyssa's aid, doing the same to her, causing her to scream out in pain.
"Get up! Let's go!" He yelled at the teenagers, as he practically lifted Alyssa up and grabbed her away.
It was only when Derek went down once more, before pushing the teenagers away, "Guys, go!" He yelled, practically sacrificing himself for the two of them.
Alyssa looked at him sadly, before attempting to pull Scott away, only to have him freeze in spot after seeing Allison walk towards them.
"Scott! Don't be stupid! Let's go!" She yelled, trying to pull him.
"Allison I can explain." Scott spoke, ignoring the Hale siblings.
Knowing that Scott wasn't going to leave, Alyssa made her way back to Derek, in hopes to help him get out of here, while the others were distracted with Scott.
However, just as she lifted him up, Kate sent two shots towards them, lodging bullets in both of their chests, and once more, they both fell to the ground..
Alyssa could barely keep her eyes open when she heard Chris Argents voice make a presence at their house.
He was finally confronting Kate about setting the fire at the Hale house, and Alyssa wanted nothing but for the woman to be dead.
"Look what you're doing now." He spoke, "You're holding a gun at a sixteen year old boy, and you shot a sixteen year old girl." He added, pointing towards the Hale sister on the ground, as she drifted in and out of consciousness.
When she heard Kate get dragged into the house by Peter, she couldn't help but relax slightly, knowing that her uncle would be able to get them out of this mess.
But, when Allison followed, she couldn't help but roll her eyes at the stupidness of the girl.
"Stay still." She heard Derek speak, as he dug his fingers into her chest in attempt to pull the bullet out.
She groaned loudly in pain, but managed to keep her screams in as Derek picked around in her flesh for the bullet.
Once he finally got it out, he pushed her back to the ground in attempt to stop her from getting up, "Stay here." He ordered.
"But.." She protested, only for Derek to hush her.
"Please." He spoke, before rushing off, leaving Alyssa lying on the cold forest floor.
Her vision was blurring when she saw Allison run out of the house and towards her father, and when she saw Scott and Derek fly out of the front window, and into the clearing.
It was when Peter was choking Scott out, did she finally manage to get up and shift into her wolf form.
She roared and charged into the alpha, causing him to drop his beta in the process, sending Scott spiralling to the ground.
When Peter got back up and looked at Alyssa, she felt guilt rise in her stomach when he looked at her with sorrow, as if she betrayed him, and she instantly felt bad.
She couldn't comprehend what happened next as it happened so quickly, one minute, Peter and her were looking at each other, and the next, her uncle was on fire.
"No!" Alyssa screamed, attempting to run to him to stop it, only for Scott to hold her back and whisper reassuring words in her ear.
They both collapsed onto the floor when Peter finally went down, and Alyssa couldn't control the tears that ran down her face.. Sven after everything he did, he was still her uncle, and she still loved him.
But now.. He was dead.
"It's okay. It's okay." He whispered, rocking her back and forth.
He knew how much she cared for the man, and although he didn't understand it himself, he respected her feelings..
It was Derek's turn next to hug her, and he pulled her away from Scott, taking her to the side and giving her a knowing look, to which she sniffled and nodded her head at.
She hated what Derek had to do - but he had to, it was something that was bound to happen sooner or later.
He took a place above Peters body, while Alyssa stood to the side with her arms wrapped around herself for comfort.
"Wait!" Scott begged, "You said the cure comes from the one who bit you. Derek, if you do this. I'm dead. Her father, her family, what am I supposed to do?"
Alyssa gave Scott a sympathetic glance, knowing that her brother had already made his mind up.
"You've already decided." Peter gasped, "I can smell it on you!"
It was then, that Derek raised his hand up, allowing his claws to grow, when suddenly, he brought them down and slit Peters throat, killing him instantly.
"I'm the alpha now."
When Derek finally stood up, his eyes were glowing red, and Alyssa couldn't help but feel happy that this was finally over..
Or was it?
