'magic bullet'

DEREK HAD FOUND another lead on the alpha, which is exactly why he and Alyssa were on its trail, chasing it down. They were jumping roof to roof, keeping close behind the alpha, only to be interrupted by Derek pushing Alyssa to the side, causing her to fall off of the roof and onto the floor.
A single shot was heard at the time he did this, causing Derek to fall to the ground with a hard thump, next to her.
He had pushed her out of the way of the gun shot, she wasn't paying enough attention to her surroundings, causing Derek to get shot instead.
"Why would you do that?" She hissed at him as he pulled up his sleeve, revealing a bullet hole, with blue smoke appearing from it.
He rolled his eyes, "So you wouldn't get shot." He told her.
"That's not a regular bullet, is it?" Alyssa panted, seeing the horrid sight of Derek's wound, she bent her arm back into place, after it being broken from the fall, causing her to groan out in pain.
He shook his head, "No."
Great. She thought. They were in trouble now.

The next day, Alyssa didn't go to school, she had to stay with Derek in case anything happened to him, or if the hunters attacked and he was too weak to fight back.
Throughout the day, he had gotten paler, and more weak by the hour.
"We're gonna need help finding what kind of bullet it was." Derek told Alyssa, weakly.
Alyssa nodded at his statement, they both had someone in mind. "Scott." She confirmed, earning a weak nod from Derek.
After having to walk to school, as Derek couldn't drive, and he didn't want Alyssa driving his precious car; they had finally made it.
Before they left, they checked Derek's wound, which had black veins forming around it, it didn't look good.
They were walking through the hallway when Alyssa heard Lydia and Allison talking; Derek nodded in their direction so she left him and could could ask the girls where Scott was.
"It's like getting into a hot tub, somebody eventually cops a feel." Alyssa heard Lydia say, as she approached, when Lydia noticed the girl, she looked surprised, "Hey! Where were you today?"
"I had family business." Alyssa told Lydia, smiling.
She nodded, Alyssa was about to ask where Scott was, until Lydia interrupted her, "Allison and Scott are studying later." She told her.
Alyssa raised an eyebrow, and wiggled her eyebrows at Allison, "Ohhh." She said, "Make sure he covers up." She joked.
Allison seemed confused at this statement, whereas Lydia smirked in victory, "See." When she also saw Allison's confused expression, she explained further, "Allison, sweetly, she means a condom."
This caused Allison to turn bright red, "Are you kidding?" She asked the two, "After one date?"
Lydia tilted her head to the side, "Don't be a total prude." She said, before shrugging, "Just give him a little taste." She told Allison.
"Well... I mean..." Allison trailed off, she paused for a short moment, looking around before she focused on Lydia and Alyssa once more, "How much is a little taste?"
Alyssa smiled slightly at Allison's comment, she could tell that the girl really liked Scott.
"Speaking of Scott, do you know where he is?" She asked Allison, when she gave Alyssa a confused look, she carried on, "I borrowed a text book from him, I need to give it back."
Allison nodded, "I think he just left to go home." She said.
Alyssa thanked the girls and told them she'd see them tomorrow, before walking back over to Derek, who looked worse, she allowed his arm to drape over her shoulder as she guided him out of the school and into the parking lot to look for Scott.
He gave her a slight glare, at her conversation about boys, but he didn't comment on it, knowing she would kick his ass to the curb.
Once they approached the car park, they couldn't see Scott anywhere, but Alyssa had spotted Stiles' jeep that was beginning to pull out, she and Derek were quick to step in front of it, causing Stiles to break quickly.
"Oh my god, you gotta be kidding me. This guy's everywhere." Stiles complained as he saw both of the Hales in front of his car.
This is when Derek collapsed, and fell from Alyssa's grasp, landing on the floor, with a loud thump. Alyssa quickly got down to his level as Scott and Stiles hurried over to them.
"What the hell? What are you doing here?" Scott asked Derek.
"He was shot." Alyssa told him.
"He's not looking so good, dude." Stiles muttered to Scott from behind Alyssa.
"Why isn't he healing?" Scott asked Alyssa, knowing that Derek was weak.
"He can't. It was a different kind of bullet, not a normal one." Alyssa explained to him.
"A silver bullet?" Stiles asked in sudden excitement.
Derek glared at the buzz-cut hair boy, "No. you idiot." He snapped.
"Wait... Wait. That's what she meant when she said that you had forty eight hours." Scott said, mostly to himself.
"What?" Alyssa questioned him, "Who said that?"
"The one who shot Derek." Scott said, earning an eye roll from Alyssa. That really wasn't any help.
Derek's eyes started to glow, meaning that he couldn't control his transformation, Scott then panicked and looked around to ensure that no one could see.
"What are you doing? Stop that!" He told him in a hushed whisper.
"That's what she was trying to tell you! I can't!" Derek complained.
"Help me put him in your car." Alyssa told Stiles, as she picked Derek up, allowing him to lean on her.
Alyssa climbed into the back of the jeep as Stiles lifted Derek into the passenger seat.
As Derek sat down, he turned to Scott, "I need you to find out what kind of bullet they used." He told him.
"How the hell am I supposed to do that?" Scott asked in disbelief.
"Cause she's an Argent. She's with the hunters." Alyssa told Scott, leaning across Derek so she could see him.
"Why should I help you two?" Scott asked, causing Alyssa to raise an eyebrow at him.
"You need us." Derek told him, "Alyssa won't help you if I die."
Alyssa nodded in confirmation, "And Derek won't be here to stop me from killing you guys." She told them with a sweet smile.
Scott sighed but nodded none the less, "Fine. I'll try." He told them, he then turned to Stiles, "Get them out of here."
"I hate you for this, so much." Stiles told him, before getting in the drivers seat and driving away from the school grounds.
They were now driving along the road, Stiles wasn't liking the idea of having helping Derek, one bit. He was still unsure about Alyssa, but preferred her to Derek.
"Hey. Try not to bleed out on my seat, will you? We're almost there." Stiles said to Derek.
"Almost where?" Derek asked Stiles.
"Your house." Stiles answered.
Alyssa was quick to interrupt, "What?" She asked, as she leaned forward so her head was in between the two from seats, "You can't take us there."
Alyssa knew that if you were injured, she was taught to hide, and heal. If the hunters got word of an injured Hale at their home, they would be as good as dead.
"I can't take you to your own house?" He asked Alyssa, in confusion.
She shook her head, "I can't protect Derek against the hunters there, he's too weak." She informed him.
This statement made Stiles mad and he pulled over the car to the side of the road. When they were successfully parked, he gave Derek and Alyssa an accusing glare.
"All right. What happens if Scott doesn't find your little magic bullet? Hmm." He asked them, "Are you dying?" He asked Derek, "Is he dying?" He then asked Alyssa, knowing that Derek wouldn't reply to him.
"Not yet." She told Stiles, she tried to bite down the anxiety growing inside of her at the idea of Derek's plan, if Scott doesn't find the bullet.
She hoped that he would find it before it came to actually having to go through with what Derek had told her.
"I have a last resort." Derek told Stiles, who looked completely confused and out of the loop.
"What do you mean? What last resort?" Stiles asked, looking as confused as ever.
Derek then decided to lift up his sleeve and show Stiles his bullet wound, that would have hit Alyssa if he didn't push her out of the way.
Black blood was now coming out of the wound and the black veins were also spreading more. It looked awful.
"Oh my god. What is that? Oh, is that contagious?" Stiles asked in disgust, looking away from Derek, "You know what? You should probably just get out." He told Derek, earning a glare from Alyssa.
"Start the car. Now." Derek warned Stiles, giving him a threatening stare.
Stiles was getting frustrated, he shook his head, "I don't think that you should be barking orders with the way you look, okay?" He told Derek, forgetting that Alyssa was sitting in the back of the jeep, "In fact, I think if I wanted to, I could probably drag your little werewolf ass into the middle of the road and leave you for dead." He said confidently.
Alyssa leaned forward again, "Can you, now?" She asked Stiles, with an eyebrow raised. This caused him to jump in his skin as he completely forgot she was even there.
"Start the car, or I'm gonna rip your throat out... With my teeth." Derek snarled at him, causing Stiles to look at him incredulously, before looking back at Alyssa.
"He will." She shrugged, not sensing the alarm in his threat like Stiles.
Starting the car back up, Stiles sighed and started to drive away once more.
"What am I supposed to do with him and Alyssa?" Stiles asked Scott through the phone.
After Alyssa had told Stiles that they couldn't go back to their home, they had driven around for a while, but with no clue on where to go, they had come to the realisation that they had no where to go and decided to lay low. Stiles had opted for the last resort; ringing up Scott again.
Alyssa was still sitting in the back, trying to mask up her anxiety, Derek could well die today, if Scott didn't hurry up and find that bullet.
"Take them somewhere. Anywhere." Scott's voice rang through from the other side of the phone, sounding rushed and worried.
"And by the way. He's starting to smell." Stiles commented, earning a glare from both of the Hale siblings.
Alyssa knew that he wasn't wrong, but it wasn't something that he should be announcing. All she could smell was a kind of, rotting smell.
"Like what?" Scott asked from the other line.
"Like death." Stiles dead-panned, gripping the steering wheel with one hand as the other held the phone to his ear.
"Okay." Scott paused, trying to think of an answer, "Take them to the animal clinic."
Alyssa's eyes widened, "Is he joking?" She whispered to Stiles, who shrugged.
"What about your boss?" Stiles asked Scott.
"He's gone by now. There's a spare key in the box behind the dumpster." Scott told Stiles.
Stiles paused for a moment, then moved the phone into his shoulder as he turned to Derek, "You're not gonna believe where he's telling me to take you."
Alyssa sighed after seeing Derek's expression, she took the phone from Stiles and gave it to Derek.
"Did you find it?" He asked Scott, still wincing every now and then due to the pain of the bullet.
"How am I supposed to find one bullet?" Scott asked in disbelief, "They have a million. This house is like the fricken Walmart of guns!" He complained.
"Look, if you don't find it, I'm dead. Alright?" Derek told Scott.
"I'm starting to think that wouldn't be such a bad thing." Scott sighed as he spoke.
Alyssa was just annoyed at Scott at this point, all Derek has been doing is helping his ungrateful werewolf ass.
She snatched the phone from Derek and held it up to her ear to speak.
"Then thing about this. The alpha called you out against your will. And he's definitely gonna do it again." She told him in a harsh tone, "Next time, you either kill, or you get killed, so if you want to stay alive, then you need Derek, for God's sake." She snapped. "Find the damn bullet."
She huffed and hung up the phone, handing it back to Stiles, who seemed surprised at her outburst; you didn't want to get on her bad side when it was her family involved.
