( 𝟎𝟎𝟐 ) first day of school
'wolf moon'

ALYSSA DREADED THE day ahead of her, she had to go to school for the first time after six years of being homeschooled by Laura and Derek.
Derek found out that the new alpha had bitten someone last night, so Alyssa was on a mission to find out who the newly bitten kid was.
After finding one half of Laura's body, Alyssa and Derek didn't know what to think. But they were both used to losing family by now, although, it didn't make it any easier.
The two had buried her upper half on the side of their house, surrounded by wolfsbain. Neither of them had cried, or shown any emotion, they couldn't let it get to them. They had a mission to do.
Alyssa headed towards a bench that was placed in front of the school, where she was supposed to wait for the principal to collect her and bring her to her first lesson.
She used to go to school six years ago, she also had a lot of friends, that is until she had to move away with Derek and Laura after the house fire.
Alyssa was sitting on the bench, admiring her painted nails, when she felt a presence next to her. She turned to the brunette girl, who gave her a smile and introduced herself.
"Hi, are you new too?" She asked, then shook her head quickly, "Wait... No, of course you are or you wouldn't be sat out here. Sorry, I'm rambling, my name's Allison. Allison Argent."
Alyssa froze as the girl spoke her last name, Argent. As in the hunters that burned her house down and killed her entire family. She forced a smile onto her face, not wanting to give anything away, in case this girl knew anything about her family.
"Alyssa." She greeted, shaking the girl's hand, she made sure not to mention her last name, "I'm new too."
Allison's smile grew wider, "Since we now know each other, do you wanna hang out at lunch?" She asked, eagerly.
Alyssa had a voice in her head telling her not to trust this girl, but she had made it a task to try and be nicer to people in general, as she was a cold person, so she reluctantly nodded her head.
"Sure, why not?" Alyssa shrugged, giving her a smile back.
Allison smiled thankfully before her phone rang, when she excused herself to answer it, Alyssa could hear that it was her mom on the other line. What Alyssa would do to be able to speak to her mom one more time, but because of this girl's family, she couldn't ever do that again.
"Mom, three calls for my first day is a little over-doing..." Allison trailed off as she spoke on the phone, "Everything execpt a pen, oh my god, I actually forgot a pen! Okay okay, I gotta go, love you."
She hung up just as the principal arrived, Allison quickly asked Alyssa if she had an extra pen, to which she shook her head at and apologised. She barely had enough stationary for herself, mind other people.
As the principal walked the girls to their first lesson, the two girls had found out that they are sharing the same class, which made Allison unbelievably happy.
As they were waiting at the front of the classroom, awkwardly, waiting for the principal to introduce the girls to the rest of the class, Alyssa gave Allison a soft smile to reassure her, as the girl looked very nervous.
"Class, these are our new students Allison Argent and Alyssa Hale. Please do your best to make them feel welcome." The principal said to the class, before leaving the girls to fend for themselves.
As soon as Alyssa had entered the classroom, she had noticed a werewolf scent in the air. As she sat down in the empty seat behind a boy with a buzz cut hair-do; as she focused on the smell.
It ended up trailing back to a boy with silky brown hair and puppy dog-like eyes.
Alyssa couldn't help but feel accomplished, it was her hour of the day and she had already found the new beta. Now all she had to do was ensure that he didn't do anything stupid, like reveal their existence to the whole school.
She made a mental note that she had to text Derek after class on who the new beta was and find out his name.
Allison was even more happy when she found out that the two girls' lockers were right next to each other. Alyssa couldn't help but think that this girl wasn't a hunter, at least not yet. She seemed too clueless and innocent.
When they got to their lockers, Alyssa had noticed that Allison and the new beta werewolf were gazing at each other from across the hallway.
She was about to make a joke about it to Allison, until a red head walked over to them. She had similar hair to Alyssa.
"That jacket is totally killer, where did you get it?" She asked Allison.
Alyssa and Allison turned around at the girl that had approached them, "My mom was a buyer from a boutique back in San Fransisco." Allison told the girl.
The red head nodded before turning to Alyssa, "Your hair is to die for." She stated, "Is it dyed or natural?"
Alyssa smiled at the girl, "Dyed." She told her. She took pride in her hair, so when someone compliments it, she loves it.
"And you two are my new best friends." The girl told them with a smirk.
From down the hall, Alyssa could hear the buzz-cut boy talk to another girl, while the beta stood by and simply gawked at Allison, "Can someone tell me how these girls, who are here for five minutes, are already hanging out with Lydia's click?" The girl asked him, in jealousy.
"Because they're hot... Beautiful people herd together." The buzz-cut boy trailed off, drooling at Lydia.
Lydia's boyfriend had now approached the trio and began making out with Lydia, causing Alyssa and Allison to avert their eyes elsewhere, not wanting to intrude.
Once they had stopped, Lydia had introduced the boy as Jackson, "So, this weekend, there's a party..." Lydia told Alyssa and Allison.
"A party?" Allison asked, as if she had never heard of a party before.
"Yeah, Friday night, you should come." Jackson told them.
Allison was quick to deny their offer, "Oh, I can't, it's family night on Friday... But thanks for asking."
Lydia and Jackson then looked at Alyssa for an answer, so she smiled at them, "I'd have to ask my brother, we have just moved in, so..." She trailed off.
Alyssa didn't want to spend more time with these people than necessary, she was only here to find out who the new beta was, so her and Derek could defeat the new alpha; she wasn't here to make new friends.
"You sure? Jackson asked, "Everyone's going after the game."
"You mean like football?" Allison asked him.
This caused Lydia and Jackson to laugh, as Alyssa and Allison exchanged confused looks, "Football is a joke here. The sport is lacrosse. We won national champion-ship last year." He stated proudly.
Alyssa remembered visiting the school when she was younger to watch Derek play, as he was apart the team, but the main sport that was played at school was basketball back then.
Lydia smiled proudly at her boyfriend before turning back to the two girls, looking smug, "Because of the team captain!" She told them.
Jackson nodded proudly, "We practice in a few minutes. If you don't have anything else to do..." He trailed off.
Allison looked at Alyssa for help as both of the girls didn't fancy watching this jackass play lacrosse, "Well, we were actually going to..." Alyssa began to say, until she got cut off by Lydia.
"Perfect! Come on!" She cheered, then linked both her arms through the new girls, and dragged them off to lacrosse practice.
Alyssa had to breath in and out slowly to ensure she didn't rip this girls throat out with her teeth, she was incredibly obnoxious and annoying.
But, she made a mental note to be nice for once, so she allowed the girl to drag her off to the fields.
Once they had sat down on the bleachers to watch the lacrosse practice, it was actually convenient as Alyssa could keep an eye out on the new beta subtly.
She had texted Derek claiming that she knew who it was, she just needed to find out what his name was.
Alyssa noticed that him and Allison were still gazing at each other, then when they saw each other looking, they smiled at each other with embarrassment. Alyssa smirked to herself, a werewolf and a hunter, how ironic.
"Who is that?" Alyssa asked Lydia, gesturing towards the beta.
"Him?" Lydia asked, looking towards the boy, "I'm not sure who he is..." She trailed off, Alyssa knew that the boy can hear their conversation, "Why?"
"Because him and Ali are giving each other love sick puppy eyes from across the field." She told Lydia, smirking.
Allison looked down embarrassingly, while giving a small smile, "He's in my English class." She told them, as her cheeks grew bright red.
Alyssa shook her head in amusement at the girl, before turning back to the boy, she had heard the coach call his last name, 'McCall'. Now she just had to find his first name.
She saw him flinch as the coach blew his whistle, which she knew was because he was still sensitive to his new hearing.
She was born as a werewolf, so she didn't understand what he could be going through, she had grown up with her abilities, adapting easily to them.
She knew that it would be especially hard for him to control his anger and shifting, she couldn't begin to imagine him on a full moon.
During the boys moment of distraction from the whistle blowing, Jackson had hurled his ball for the goal that the beta was standing in front of, causing him to fly backwards and fall on the ground.
This caused the whole team and the coach to laugh at him, Alyssa just thought he was cruel, and she was a werewolf, she knew cruel.
"Hey, way to catch with your face, McCall!" Jackson called, still laughing.
The beta then stood up, looking extremely determined to catch the next shot.
As the next player tosses the ball towards him, he catches it easily, to the point where he's visibly stunned that he was able to do so.
Alyssa heard his friend shout from his seat on the side of the pitch, "Yeah!" He yelled.
The second, third, fourth, and fifth shots are caught by the boy just as easily, and the coach simply stares at him with his mouth open as though he can't believe what he's witnessing.
Alyssa sees Allison smile when she sees Scott's performance, and even Lydia is clearly impressed by what she sees.
"He seems like he's pretty good." Allison pointed out, still keeping her smile on her face.
"Yeah, very good." Lydia mutters, staring out at the field.
Jackson, who was angry that the boy had been able to stop all of the balls from entering the goal, pushed his way to the front of the line, to go next.
"Oh, God..." Alyssa heard McCall mutter.
Jackson ran as fast as he can toward the goal and tosses the ball with all of the force he can muster, only for McCall to catch it without hesitation.
Allison, Alyssa and Lydia all stand up to cheer, along with the buzz cut boy, who shouts "That's my friend!"
Alyssa was only cheering because the rest of the lacrosse team seemed like complete assholes, so she was happy that the beta was able to show them up.
The boy didn't seem to be a problem, yet.

After her first day of school, Alyssa wanted to relax due from the stress of having to socialise all day.
She had found out that the betas name was Scott McCall, and his friend is called Stiles Stilinski. She can't help but think about what a strange name Stiles was.
Derek had then literally dragged her out of the house, into the forest, in order to help him follow more scents on where Laura's other half could be.
So that was what Alyssa was now doing, tracking through the woods with Derek, looking for the other half of their sisters dead body, because that is a normal thing a teenage girl does after school, instead of homework.
Derek had also found an inhaler in the woods the night before, she didn't know who it belonged to.
"I don't do parties." Alyssa told Derek, blankly, as he had told her that she should go to Lydia's.
"You need to keep an eye on Scott. It's the full moon." Derek told her, not taking his eyes off of the woods around him.
"I don't even know if he'll be there, that is unless he goes with that Argent girl." Alyssa told him with a shrug.
"You should stay away from her." Derek told Alyssa, turning to look at her as they walk.
"I don't think she's a hunter, yet." She told him, "She doesn't seem like it."
"It doesn't matter." Derek said, "They're Argents, they're dangerous. Stay away from her." He warned her.
Their conversation was cut short as they heard two voices from the distance, that she recognised to be Stiles and Scott. So her and Derek walked towards the two.
"Maybe the killer moved the body?" Stiles suggested.
"If he did, I hope he left my inhaler. Those things are, like, eighty bucks." Scott complained.
Alyssa and Derek were now standing in front of them, Derek giving them his infamous glare, while Alyssa just stared, bored. This was when Stiles noticed them and patted Scott to get him to look too.
"What are you doing here?" Derek ordered.
When Scott and Stiles, both of whom are visibly panicking, don't respond, Dereks tone got even more gruffer. "Huh? This is private property." He said.
Stiles stuttered, "Uh, sorry, man, we didn't know." He said. Leave it to Derek to terrify two teenagers.
Derek's attention is focused on Scott, who picks up where Stiles left off to try to relieve the tension between the four of them, "Yeah, we were just looking for something, but..." Scott was about to continue until Derek glares at him, after which point Scott loses his nerve and drops the subject, "Uh, forget it."
Alyssa rolled her eyes before digging her hand into Derek's leather jacket pocket and pulling out Scott's inhaler. Which the two boys were obviously looking for.
"Scott." She gained his attention and threw the inhaler towards him, which he caught easily.
Derek then turned and left, pulling Alyssa away with him. She could hear them converse in more conversation.
"Dude, that was Derek Hale!" Stiles whispered to Scott, "I knew I recognised Alyssa from somewhere." He paused, "You remember, right? He's only like a few years older than us, and Alyssa used to go to our school."
"Remember what?" Scott said, Alyssa could hear his confusion in his voice.
"Their family. They all burned to death in a fire, like, ten years ago." Stiles explained.
"I wonder what they're doing back..." Scott muttered.
Once they were out of earshot, Alyssa spoke to Derek, knowing that Scott couldn't hear them, "Way to make a first impression, he'll definitely trust us now."
Derek didn't say anything as he carried on walking, clearly hearing what the boys had said and wasn't happy with it.
Alyssa sighed and followed along.
