--Before the Chuunin Exams--

Naruto is just chilling around the rebuilding streets of Uzushio, with children swarming him like bees, playing around him. Villagers and ninja bowed to him in both respect and admiration, but he motioned them up. After all, he is their hero, and, as much, their friend.

Being the Uzukage has it's perks. He makes the law, and he has every reason to protect his people. Now he know why people respects Kages so much. But honestly, how did they not figure out how to beat paperwork when he, a teen, did? He pity them.

*Else where, every single Kage sneezed*

"Uzukage-sama." An ANBU shunshined behind the blonde leader, bearing a black and pink Phoenix mask.

"What is it, All of Love?" Naruto asked, confused. At times like these, the ANBU operators only need his presence when something is serious.

"There was a letter from Konoha, for the Chuunin exams." All of Love fetched out a scroll and gave it to the Kage.

"Konoha, hmm?" Naruto smirked playfully at the plans that occured in his head, even Kurama laughed at it. All of Love sweatdropped.

'Sweet, sweet payback time~!'

"Damn, Kit, those fuckmunches won't even expect it!" The Kyuubi boomed.

'I know!'

"You can go now, All of Love. And call Team 1 and 2, too." The ANBU chuckled.

"Somehow, i have a feeling about what you're about to do, Naruto-kun." Naruto grinned widely.

"Oh, you know me so well, Lily-san~!" The ANBU gave a hidden smile, before poofing away to get said teams. Naruto waved to the already-dissapeared ANBU, still grinning.

"Oops, almost forgot! How could they start without thier Kage?" And in half a second, the village of Whirlpools had been cut in half by an orange flash.

"So, wonder why you're called?"

"AAAHHH!!!"

"UZUKAGE-SAMA, WHAT THE HECK?!"

"GHOST!!"

These were the different reactions of the six Genin in the office. The two Jounin flinched slightly, but immediately relaxed.

"Uzukaze-sama, please don't give the kids heart attacks that early." Oshiba Kousuke, Team 2's Jounin instructor, sweatdropped, much like All of Love.

"What a pain, can't deal..." Team 1's instructor groaned, unconcerned of his studen's screaming.

Naruto chuckled, same old, same old. He coughed into his fist lightly, gathering the attention of the spooked Genin.

"As i was saying, do you know why you're called here?" He hid a smirk. The Genin looked at eachother, confused. Suddenly, one of Team 2 gasped dramatically.

"Naruto-kun, you didn't tell us about the Chuunin exams?!" Yogi pouted, and the other Genin gasped.

"Gareki told you, i assume?" At the nod, he continued. "Yes, and as a matter of fact, Team 1, Team 2, i'm nominating you to the Genin exams held this month!"

The two teams cheered and ran out of the office. Once out of ear-shot, the Kage turned serious.

"Oh, and Kuro-san?" The blue haired Jounin 'hm'ed. "Prepare your ANBU squad to accompany your team for the upcoming 'events', i have a feeling about this exam." Kuro nodded.

"Dissmissed." Both Jounin dissapeared.

Naruto let out a long, satisfied sigh. A poof of red smoke filled the room, before clearing away, leaving a tall, red haired, red eyed man in an equally red kimono, his face set in a feral grin.

"Ah, finally. I was hoping for some fresh air." The deep voice grumbled.

"Mhm, so, about the plans for Konoha, Kurama?" Naruto lifted a brow in amusement.

"You know, you could just tell the brats to come with you, right? My spies have enough proof of their loyalty to you." Kurama casually strolled around the Uzukage's office, flopping down the couch in his fox form.

"The question is 'How?', and do you honestly believe me to just tell them anywhere?"

"Not very goood comeback, Kit, you're getting rusty." Kurama smirked. "Did you forget? You have your Fuuinjutsu to back you up, a lil' bit o' silencing won't alert anything."

Naruto knew that voice oh so well. The voice when the old fox knew he won the argument. Every. Damn. Time.

"Fine, old coot! Have it your way then! Good rhyming though." Naruto rolled his eyes, but his face betrayed his emotions. He was grinning.

"I always win, Kit. You, of all people, should know that." Kurama smirked foxily before poofing away. Naruto sat in silence, the Uzukage's office almost empty.

"Yeah, i know, old coot."

"So, Kuro, your Genin team's in for the exam, right?" A brunette questioned as he does the dishes. Kuro nodded and groaned.

"I'm gonna die before it even starts. Remember me, Mahiru." The bluenette muffled with his face kissing the table. Mahiru chuckled.

"Oh, lighten up, Kuro! It's not that bad, you're an ANBU captain and the eldest of what's left of your clan. Why can't you stay positive for once in a while?" Mahiru dried his hands and sat down beside his husband.

"Too troublesome." Kuro deadpan. The brunette laughed at the blunt answer, before leaning in and giving the other e kiss on his forhead, leaving him a blushing mess.

"Typical Kuro, but i guess i like it better that you never change." Mahiru grinned.

And Kuro has that to add to his list of "Why Shirota Mahiru is the best hubby".

"You should give your team some light practice tomorrow, it never hurts to be in the best shape." Mahiru suggested, wraping an arm around the sleepy shinobi. "Love you, Kuro. Be safe out there, ya hear?"

"What a pain, yeah yeah." Kuro huffed, leaning into the brunette's embrace.

"Love you too, Mahi. I will."

Ok, now that's pretty random? Just wanted to give some characters more spotlights, i feel bad that i've been leaving them in the shadows.

So here's the Shirota family and their evening before the exams. Kuro and Mahiru are married, and are living in the same house. Mahiru's the simpleton, and Kuro's a clan heir :v

Backstory of Kuro's clan:
Kuro and the rest of his siblings has a longevity bloodline that's cousins to the Uzumaki Clan's. Their clan was wiped out during the war, and the eight of them were the only ones who survived that belongs to the clan.
