Chapter Eight: Telling The Others

Back In Seabrook
Malia's Pov

"WHAT?!" nearly all of my friends screamed in disbelief.

I winced in slight pain as I covered my ears, not uncovering them until I knew it was safe to do so.

So, you might be wondering what's going on.

Well, it's literally the day after I sent that message to my mother telling her that I will be returning to Auradon.

And I just finished telling my friends and my fiance the news.

And, as expected, they didn't take it very well.

They were all staring at me like I've just grown two heads.

I sighed and slowly uncovered my ears, feeling that it was safe, and because of that my friends immediately bombarded me with questions.

"What do you mean you want to return to Auradon?" Willa asked.

"Have you gone insane?" Wynter asked.

"To answer your question, Willa, yes I do want to return to Auradon. And to answer your question, Wynter, no I have not gone insane" I replied.

Wyatt stepped forward, nothing but disbelief shown in his eyes.

"Baby, have you forgotten that your ex-boyfriend, the boy that broke your heart and left you for some other chick, lives there. If you go there and he finds out he's going to want you back. Is that what you want?" Wyatt asked, clearly angry.

I sighed.

I should've known that this is how my fiance, it feels really good to call him that, was going to react.

But I want, I need, him to know that nothing is going to change.

He needs to know that Ben is nothing to me. Not anymore.

I stepped closer to my fiance and brought my hand up to cup the side of his cheek.

"Wyatt, don't think like that. I'm over Ben and I have been for a long time. I have you now and you're better for me than he ever was" I reassured him.

Wyatt frowned as he slowly took my words into consideration.

I can tell he was trying to make sure that my words were going to stick to his head.

It seemed to be working since I could see him beginning to calm down, but it's clear that he was still upset.

I sighed and stepped back from him as I turned to address my friends.

"Listen, I understand that this is crazy..." I trailed off.

"Understatement of the century" Elena said, raising an eyebrow at me.

"But I'm only going there for a visit. I want to see my family and friends again. I miss them. I miss my parents and I miss my sister. I want to tell them everything that I have been through, you all know I've got many stories to tell them. Not to mention I want them to get to know Emily since she is their family too" I explained.

I want my parents to meet their granddaughter, I want my sister to meet her niece and I want my friends to know Emily.

I don't want them missing out on my life the same way I don't want them missing out on hers.

My eyes then wandered down to my engagement ring.

A soft smile appeared on my face as I fiddled with it before looking up.

I turned my head around so that my eyes met Wyatt's.

"I also want them to know about me being engaged to the love of my life" I finished.

Wyatt's eyes softened at that and a smile appeared on his face as he stared at me.

I returned the gesture before sighing as I met the eyes of all my friends.

"Please, please understand why I am doing this" I softly begged.

I need them to know that this is what I want to do.

I need them to know that whether they like it or not they can't change my mind because it's already been decided.

I need them to know that no matter if...he...lives in Auradon I need to go back and reunite with the ones that I miss.

Addison stepped forward and placed her hands on my shoulders.

"If this is what you want to do then you know I will support you, always" Addison softly said.

Zed nodded and stepped forward, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"You're my best friend, Malia. You know I'll always support whatever you decide to do" Zed smiled.

Willa sighed before stepping forward.

"I don't like the idea of you returning to your hometown, mainly because your useless ex lives there. But I understand how much you miss your family and friends and I don't want to take that away from you. You've got my support, always" Willa said.

Wynter and Elena stepped forward.

"You already know we support you" Wynter smiled.

"Like my hyper wolf said, we've got you" Elena nodded.

A-lan, A-li and A-spen stepped forward with smiles plastered on their faces.

"We support your decision, sister" A-lan smiled.

"Yes, we do. If this is what you want, we will stand by you" A-li smiled.

"Always" A-spen finished.

Bree, Bonzo, Eliza and Bucky all nodded their heads with smiles plastered on all their faces.

Wyatt moved to stand at my side and wrapped his arm around my waist, leaning in to give my temple a kiss.

"You already know I'll support you, baby. No matter what" Wyatt softly smiled.

I smiled softly at him before turning to all my friends and smiled at them as well.

I felt tears beginning to build up in my eyes, for whatever reason, at them standing by me and supporting my decision.

They may not like it because of who lives there and what he did before I had left, but no matter what they will still stand by me.

And I love all of them for that.

Bonzo frowned before stepping forward and extending his arms out.

"Zip zzee jug? (want a hug?)" Bonzo asked.

I laughed softly at him before nodding my head.

Bonzo didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around me, embracing me in a hug, and I hugged him back.

When we pulled away from the hug I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw Willa standing next to me.

"I hope you know we're going with you. No way we're letting you go alone" Willa sternly said.

I laughed and nodded, "I knew you guys were going to come. I was going to ask either way but looks like I don't anymore".

"Good. Now, when do you plan for us to leave?" Willa asked.

"Two days" I replied.

"Well, then what are we waiting for? Lets all head home and start packing" Elena said.

"Right!" everyone yelled in unison.

Everyone bid Wyatt and I goodbye before rushing out of our house to head back to their place and get ready.

Wyatt and I laughed as we watched them all leave before my fiance closed the door once the last person was out.

Wyatt walked towards me and stopped once he was in front of me.

I stared up at him and he said nothing, he just smiled.

He then brought his hand to my hair and brushed some of it away.

"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Nothing, you're just beautiful. As always" Wyatt softly smiled.

I returned the gesture and wrapped my arms around his beck while he wrapped his arms around my waist.

We leaned forward and pressed our foreheads together while staring into each others eyes.

"Are you going to tell Emily?" Wyatt asked.

I sighed and replied, "I have to, but I'm worried about how she's going to react".

Now, while my daughter may still be young she's very smart for her age.

I didn't want to keep any secrets from her, neither did Wyatt, which is why I told Emily the truth about her real dad.

Emily was confused, which is as expected for her age, but it's like I said she is smart and slowly started to understand what I was talking about whenever I talked to her about her real dad.

Emily didn't seem to mind, let alone care, about her real dad.

She always told me that he was never in her life and never a dad to her.

She always told me that she wouldn't want someone like him as her dad after what he did to me.

And she always told me that she considered Wyatt her dad because he was there not just for me but for her as well.

It always brought a smile to my face whenever she told me that because it shows that to her she doesn't care that Wyatt isn't her biological dad, to her he always will be her dad.

And another thing is that she has always told me that she wants nothing to do with her real dad.

That she never wants to meet him.

Which is why telling her about going to Auradon to visit my family and friends might not turn out well.

She might not react well.

"Baby, you know you have to tell her one way or another. You can't keep it from her" Wyatt told me.

"I know, but I'm worried. She might get angry or might not even want to go. I don't want to force her to go if that's what ends up happening" I sighed.

"Don't think like that baby, she's not going to react like that at all. If anything she'll be happy that we're going to Auradon. Yes, she might get upset since she'll end up meeting her biological father, but she'll also understand that this is something you want. Plus, I know she'll be just as excited to meet your family and friends" Wyatt reassured me.

I pondered my fiance's words and couldn't help but nod.

Despite the fact that she might be a little upset she will still be understanding and happy too.

After all, she has always told me how much she has wanted to see my parents and my sister.

"How about you go and tell Em while I make lunch. Sound good?" Wyatt asked.

I nodded and said, "ok".

Wyatt smiled at me and pecked me softly on the lips before making his way into the kitchen.

I sighed before turning around and made my way upstairs.

I walked down the hallway before making it to my daughters room. I stood in front of her door and knocked on it.

"Come in!" Emily yelled.

I opened the door and smiled when I saw Emily on the ground playing with her toys.

She looked up and when her eyes locked on me a smile immediately appeared on her face.

"Mommy!" Emily squealed.

I laughed and stepped into the room, closing the door behind me, and made my way over to her.

"Hey, princess. What are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm playing, mommy. Dressing up my toys is fun" Emily told me.

"Yes, I can see that" I nodded.

"Do you want to play with me?" Emily asked.

"Of course I do" I nodded.

I made my way over to her and sat down on the ground with her.

"But before we play mommy needs to tell you something important" I told her.

Emily frowned, sensing that something was wrong just based on how I spoke.

She stopped playing and crawled over to me.

"Is everything ok mommy? I didn't do anything bad did I?" Emily asked nervously.

"Oh no, princess. Don't worry you didn't do anything bad, I promise. I just need to talk to you about something, that's all" I reassured her.

Emily sighed in relief before scooting closer to my side.

She looked up at me with curiosity washing over her eyes and I had to hold myself back from cooing at her.

My daughter is just so adorable and I love her.

"Princess, remember when I told you that mommy wasn't born here? Do you remember that I lived somewhere else before coming to Seabrook?" I asked.

Emily immediately nodded.

"Yes, you said that you came from this magical place called Auradon. And in Auradon there are princesses and princes" Emily smiled.

I giggled at her enthusiasm and nodded.

"That's correct" I said.

I took a few deep breaths, preparing myself to ask her what I need to.

"Princess, how do you feel about going to Auradon in two days and staying there for a while?" I asked.

Emily's eyes widened at that.

And almost immediately a grin appeared on her face and she bounced up and down in excitement.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! That sounds like fun!" Emily squealed.

I laughed at her behavior and shook my head in amusement.

However, I frowned when I realized that what I told her next would immediately shut down her excitement.

"But, princess, you need to know something. Your father lives there" I said.

Just as fast as her excitement appeared it disappeared just as fast.

Her smile morphed into a frown, the excitement in her eyes disappeared and she stopped bouncing up and down.

"Oh. I fowgot about him" Emily muttered while looking down at her lap.

I sighed.

She already knew who I was talking about.

The difference between Wyatt and Ben is that she considers Wyatt her dad and refers to him as dad or daddy.

But with Ben it's different. She either refers to him as his first name or father.

I grabbed my girl and set her down on my lap.

I placed my fingers under her chin and lifted her head up so that our eyes met.

"Princess, I know you don't want to see him. Trust me, I don't either. However, you need to understand that I want to see my family and friends again. I know you do too" I softly told her.

Emily said nothing and just stared at me.

I sighed before saying, "princess if you don't want to come, if you aren't comfortable going, I won't force you to".

If Emily doesn't want to go then I guess I'll have to call off the trip.

I'll have to send another message to my mom and tell her there's been a change of plans.

Emily, sensing what was on my mind, shook her head and gently placed her little hands on each sides of my face.

"I understand, mommy. I don't care if he is there. I want to go, I do" Emily told me.

"Are you sure?" I softly asked, wrapping my arms around her waist.

"I'm sure, mommy. I want to see new people, I want to meet my other family" Emily said.

I smiled at her and couldn't stop the relief from coursing through my body.

I leaned in to give my princess a kiss on her forehead before looking at her.

"Mommy loves you princess. Don't forget that" I told her.

"I love you too, mommy" Emily smiled at me.

We smiled at each other before Emily leaned forward and buried her head into my neck.

I sighed in content while holding my daughter close.

I brought my hand up to her head in order to run my fingers through her hair to which she nuzzled closer to my neck.

While I'm really happy she reacted well to the news that we'll be leaving for Auradon in two days.

I'm still really nervous as to what will happen when we arrive.

Yes, I know it'll be nothing but happiness as I will be seeing my family and friends again.

But what I do know is that it's also going to be full of drama.
