Chapter Eleven
After several hours of explaining, everyone was finally caught up. And now, Bee was insisting that I had more training to do, though we weren't going to do that at the moment due to Charcoal insisting on studying my predacon form. So, here I was, sitting on the ground in my predacon form, while Charcoal walked around me several times in her own predacon form. I felt so tiny next to her. I was big for a bot, but I was small for a predacon. Well, a predacon of her size. I'm pretty sure she was bigger than Predaking! I huffed as Charcoal continued to circle me, twitching every now and then. Eventually, I couldn't handle much more of it, and transformed, glaring at Charcoal.
"I hope you've gotten everything you wanted, because I cannot handle sitting still for much longer", I growl. Charcoal chuckles, shaking her head.
"Yeah, you're good to go", she says as she transforms herself. I was still miffed about being shorter than her. Oh well. Russell comes running up to us.
"Hey, do you guys want to watch a movie with me, Sideswipe, Strongarm, and Grimlock?" Russell asks. I tilt my head at him.
"Depends on the movie", I say, while Charcoal smiles, and nods. I smirk at her, knowing she's only going because of Grimlock.
"It's just some scary movie", Russell shrugs. "Though I don't get scared at anything." I give him this disbelieving look, before allowing myself to shrink down and the metal to retract. Russell gives me this weird look. "It's still kinda weird that you can do it."
I chuckle softly. "I don't think I'll join you. I'm gonna go to my trailer, and relax a bit. It's been a bit crazy these past few days."
Russell nods before running back to the cafe where they had set the movie up. Bee, Denny, and Fix-it had left a few hours earlier to go and check out some energon readings. When I walked into my trailer, I found Scarlett and Evelyn asleep on the floor. I smile softly at them. They've had a rough few days with little sleep. I'll leave them alone for now. A couple hours later, a soft knocking came at my door. I open to find Denny there.
"Bee says he's gonna need your help", he says. I tilt my head before looking at my two friends asleep on the floor of my trailer. I sigh before nodding to Denny.
"I'll be out in a bit. Gotta write a note for Scar and Lyn in case they wake up and no one is here", I murmur. Denny nods and I close my door, quickly scribbling a note on a piece of paper for Scarlett and Evelyn.
'Scar, Lyn, don't worry about me if you wake up and I'm not here. Bee needs my help with something but I should be back soon.'
Smiling at my note, I nod, and set it on the table, before making sure my swords were invisible. With that, I walked out, and went over to Bumblebee, who smiled down at me.
"Hey, Astraea", he greets. I smile up in greeting at him, and he continues to speak up. "Think you're ready to help out the team full time now?"
I blink before a wide grin spreads across my face. "Yes! But... what about the rest of my training?" My grin disappears.
"The rest of your training is field experience", Bee says. I blink before a grin spreads out on my face.
"Yay!" I exclaim, jumping up, before composing myself, though I was unable to keep the excitement out of my voice. "Ready for duty, Bee!"
Bee chuckles. "Good. Because your first mission is now. Fix-it got a signal over by the caves. We're gonna need your predacon form."
I nod and quickly transform into my bipedal form, not wanting to transform into my predacon form just yet. I would do it once we were out of the base. I know how Denny gets about his stuff and it breaking. Bumblebee leads me over to the others.
"Alright, team, gas it up and blow it out!" Bee exclaims. There was only silence and strange looks at his failed rallying cry. Bee gives an annoyed look. "Honestly, it sounded better in my head."
I chuckle softly, shaking my head as Bee transforms. I transform in the large area, taking off into the sky, and following them closely. I could hear the steady wingbeats of Charcoal doing the same. We were lucky our colors mostly blended into the night. Well, Charcoal did, which is why we had a system of her flying directly below me, as she was bigger, and could hide me from any prying eyes below. Soon, we arrive at the caves, Charcoal and I land in a semi graceful manner. We transform, looking around. Bumblebee and the others hadn't arrived yet, allowing Charcoal and I to realize that we had flown just a wee bit to fast. But unfortunately for us, something was flying right at us.
"Charcoal, do you see that?" I ask. Charcoal nods. I focus my optics on it, allowing them to zoom in on the flying thing. Unfortunately, it was a Decepticon. "It's a Con! Hide!"
Charcoal managed to find a hiding place among the rocks, while unfortunately, I was stuck out in the open. A loud screech filled my audio receptors, and my eyes instantly widen in fear. I was paralyzed with fear, I couldn't move. I faintly heard Charcoal yelling at me to run, but I couldn't move. All I could focus on was the creature in front of me. I felt myself being grabbed by the claws of the Decepticon and I felt myself being carried someplace, but after that it went completely dark.

"Astraea..." I heard someone murmur as I look around at the fire surrounding me. It sounded a bit like Optimus. I turn to see him, and there is a very disappointed, and angry look on his face.
"Optimus?" I ask. "What's going on?"
"Astraea", a new voice entered the fray. I turn again to see Bumblebee, along with Sideswipe, Strongarm, Grimlock, and Fix-it. All with disappointed looks on their faces. I turn back towards Optimus, and notice that Arcee, Bulkhead, Ratchet, Flameduster, Ultra Magnus, Smokescreen, and Wheeljack now all stand behind Optimus. They too have disappointed faces. I hear my name again, and turn to see Denny and Russell. Both looked disappointed in me. And then I heard a voice I thought I would never hear again.
"Astraea", the voice was cold, and struck fear in my very heart. I turn to see someone who I thought had been dead for a very long time. My mother.
"Mom?" I whisper, tears forming in my eyes. She doesn't say anything but she definitely looks disappointed. I close my eyes tightly, to try and keep the tears from leaking from leaking from my eyes, but they still fell anyway. When I open my eyes again, I saw my uncle, and my grandparents. They too, had disappointed looks. I look around, and saw Miko, Tori, Jack and Raf, standing over by Denny and Russell. I turned again, and saw Scarlett and Evelyn by my mother. I saw everyone I ever cared about. And they all had disappointed looks on their faces. And I had no clue what I had done. I turn in a full circle, trying to figure out what was going on. And then my gaze landed back on Optimus, whose gaze had turned hateful... towards me. And then... everyone spoke at once.
"We are so disappointing in you, Astraea", they said. "You failed everything that was put up against you. You got everyone killed."
My eyes widen as I spin in a full circle, only to see everyone turn to dust. I shook my head several times, trying to believe that they were still there. But as of right now, everyone was just dust. I turned in another full circle, only to find that Optimus was still there, the hateful, and disappointed look still on his face. I blink up at him, tears filling my eyes.
"Optimus..." I whisper. "Please..."
Optimus' gaze only hardens and he speaks once more. "I'm extremely disappointed in you. The Primes are disappointed in you. We thought you could handle being a techno-organic. Instead... you got everyone killed. We as Primes now revoke the gift that was given unto you. You are now once again a human."
I stare up at him as I feel my wings disappear. Tears fill my eyes as I try to whisper something without my voice breaking. Unfortunately that didn't work. My voice cracked as I whispered Optimus' name. He only frowns deeply.
"I don't know how I could have ever loved you", he says. "You're just a tiny human, incapable of keeping those she loves alive. You got everyone killed."
"Optimus..." I cried. "Please... I love you..."
"I don't love you", Optimus says as he turns away. With that, he turns to dust as well. I cry even harder and fall to my knees, unable to keep my shaking body upright. I use my hands to hold myself up. I sat there for what felt like hours, before I fell forward. My eyes open wide and I discover myself in a cave. I start crying again and hold my arms to my body. I heard several confused exclamations and I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Astraea", I heard Bee's voice. I don't look up at him, afraid to see the disappointed look on his face. "Astraea, are you alright?" At that, I look up at him, shocked. Instead of a disappointed look, he looked... worried. I frown, before shaking my head. I wiped away the tears and shakily stood up. I looked around at my teammates. Each of them looked worried. Unfortunately, they couldn't worry too much about me due to the bat like 'con getting up. Bee threatens the con and the con laughs. I could hear it about to shriek, but Russell gave us some helpful advice.
"Bots! Turn off your audio receptors!" Russell says. I shakily raise a hand to my audio receptors and turn them off. The con tries to shriek but none of us are able to hear him so it doesn't affect us. Grimlock runs towards him, and the 'con tries to fly away, but Grimlock tossed him down. I let out a quiet sigh of relief. Now we could take the 'con back to the scrapyard, and get some rest. I turn my audio receptors back on, as does everyone else, and we start to head outside. On our way out, I turn to Bee.
"Bee, I'm going to walk back to scrapyard", I murmur. "I need to... clear my mind."
Bee hesitates. "Do you want some company?"
I shake my head. "No. I just need some peace and quiet for a bit."
Bee nods, but makes me promise to com him if there's any more cons. As they drive/fly away, I sigh, and think back to my nightmare. Walking towards the scrapyard, I couldn't help but think aloud.
"It seemed so realistic... I wish... I wish I could've known that it was just a dre- nightmare at the beginning, instead of finding out when I woke up... Oh, Optimus, I really hope that you won't be disappointed in me..." I murmur, only to freeze when I heard a twig snap. I go deathly silent, and look warily around my surroundings. I hear a quiet growl from behind me, and my antennae instantly alert me to a large form jumping at my back. I instantly duck and my assailant goes flying over my back. I glare when I see a familiar wolf 'con.
"Steeljaw", I growl. Steeljaw perks up at that.
"You know me, yet I do not know you", he murmurs. "How interesting..."
A flash of fear goes through my systems, but I refuse to allow it to show, instead narrowing my optics at him. A mouth guard slides over my mouth, and I draw my swords, being prepared for battle.
"What are you doing here, Steeljaw?" I ask. Steeljaw chuckles.
"I caught a whiff of Autobot stench. I followed it, and lo, and behold, I came across you..." he trailed off, obviously wanting my name. I glare at him.
"You'll never know my designation", I growl. Steeljaw frowns.
"You misunderstand. I wish to get to know you. You are a beautiful femme after all", he murmurs seductively as he tries to move closer to me. My glare hardens even more.
"I won't fall for your tricks 'Con!" I hiss. "Besides. I'm taken and I will remain loyal."
Steeljaw chuckles. "You are too smart, femme. But if you do not mind my asking... who is your mechfriend?"
I glare at him. "None of your business."
Steeljaw grins. "It's not... Bumblebee, is it?"
I glare at him. "Bumblebee is more like a brother to me than anything. Now I suggest you either leave, or get your aft whooped."
Steeljaw chuckles. "Perhaps it is the mech you spoke of earlier. Optimus, was it?"
I stiffen and Steeljaw lets out a low chuckle. "Optimus Prime... The last of the Primes. The one who is dead. Come, femme, and I will allow you to love someone who is not dead."
I glare at him. "Optimus isn't dead!"
Steeljaw chuckles. "Certainly seems like it. Now... come along."
Steeljaw grabbed my arm, digging his claws into my armor, causing me to gasp and drop my sword. I glare at him, before kicking him away, leaving a nice long gouge in my armor from Steeljaw trying to hang on. I quickly called Bee.
"Bee!" I say as I press a digit to my audio receptor. "I'm under attack by Steeljaw! My coordinates are-!" I was cut off by a servo wrapping around my face, covering my mouth.
"Heyo!" a loud voice thunders. "What's goin' on here?"
Steeljaw chuckles. "Thunderhoof, I do believe we just got ourselves an Autobot prisoner. Knock her out and take her back to base."
I felt a fist come to the side of my head, and my vision went dark as I went limp. Before I went completely unconscious, I heard a voice speak calmly in its low baritone voice.
"Let her go."
