Chapter 25 (Rewrite)
Yesterday was a Hell of a day. I wish I knew what was in store for me today, but I don't. After Lucifer and I hugged for a while, I got settled into another bedroom down the hall. I apologized again for destroying the other bedroom, but he just shook it off as if it was nothing to worry about. After I got settled, he and Axel took care of some private work before having dinner, which they both made, and I've got to admit, they were pretty good cooks. Once dinner was finished, they resumed their work, and I vanished into my room.
Throughout the whole night, I forced myself to stay away. I didn't want to slip back into my memories again. I learned that I was missing for almost 3 weeks. When Lucifer recused me, I only remembered the last event that happened, but as each day goes by, I end up remembering what that sadistic cunt did to me. I wasn't just stabbed multiple times. I was beaten, choked, gagged, forced to kiss him endless times, and raped.
I felt my stomach turn as images flashed through my mind. I got off the bed and quickly got into the shower before scrubbing my body harshly with the loofah. I felt disgusted and sick as the image rapidly flashed through my mind. This was my 4th shower within 9 hours. I looked down at my hands and started rubbing my wrist and then my stomach. I could remember his body fluids all over me each time he finished. I started to scrub my chest.
A knock came at the bathroom door, causing me to flinch.
"Sunshine?" a voice called from the other side of the door. It was Axel. "Yes?" I called out as I continued to scrub. When you're done, get dressed. I got a surprise for you," he chipped in. I hummed in response before I continued to scrub my body three times.
Getting out, I dried my skin and looked in the mirror. My body was red, and my wounds looked fresh, as I had scrubbed harder. The bruise on my wrist was slowly fading but still visible. I was ugly. No one would like me. I looked away, walked into my room, and got dressed in black leggings, a black shirt, and a black hoodie to hide my body.
I opened my door, revealing Axel, who was leaning against the opposite door with his hands folded across his chest. A smile rose to his lips as he saw me.
"I've got a surprise for you," he chipped before walking down the hall. I trailed behind him and walked down the stairs before we turned to the living room.
I looked around the room to see Lucifer sitting on the couch along with James and Gabe. I looked at Axel and thanked him to which he nodded. My brothers walked up to me and James quickly wrapped me in a hug.
"Sky," James muffled into my hair. I could hear the sadness in his tone and the pity. I felt a lump forming in my throat as he said my name. I looked behind him to see Gabe looking, trying to read me.
"So when do I go home?" I asked as James continued to hug me while my eyes were on Gabe. Gabe shook his head hinting James wasn't going to let me come home anytime soon. I looked to Lucifer and Axel who were just watching Gabe and me communicate through our eyes.
James then released me from the hug. "You've got to spend some time here. It's for your own safety. Lucifer told me that you didn't want to see a therapist. He also told me you're going through PTSD," he commented as he informed me what he knew.
My eyebrow rose in confusion, "So you're not letting me come home because of some bullshit PTSD? I'm fine," I chuckled.
James glared at me, "Sky, it's fucking raining," he pointed to the window. "You've got to understand the position this puts us in," he sighed as he continued to walk around while talking. I drowned him out and looked at Gabe who was already looking at me. I looked back at James who was still talking whilst walking around. I wanted to punch James. You can't fucking keep me here.
My hands clenched into fists at my sides causing lightning to strike. James looked at me before giving me a look of pity. "Sky, I know you want to come home but being home will just make you overwhelmed," James spoke as he started walking up to me.
I looked at Gabe, who glared at me before shaking his head. I looked towards Lucifer and Axel, who were just staring at us in confusion.
"Sky?" James' voice came in front of me. I lifted my hand up to punch him.
"Duck," Gabe calmly spoke. James quickly dodged my punch, causing me to send a death glare at him. I went to throw another punch but James quickly grabbed both of my wrists. "Sky, please, just give it a chance," he pleaded. I lifted my right foot and kicked him in the stomach causing him to fly back. I went to attack him before he could get up, but I was tackled instead.
I was quickly pinned to the ground and I looked to see Gabe was on top of me. His eyes shot me a glare, "Stand down little sis," he firmly spoke. Even with powers, Gabe could still manage to kick my ass. Sure, it would be a challenge for him, but somehow, he could still do it. Mom and Dad made sure out of all the brothers, he was the one that could fight me.
"Whatever," I mumbled as he got off me and pulled me off the floor. "Let me guess, you weren't opposed to me being here either, huh?" I questioned Gabe.
His eyes flickered with pain. "I didn't want you to, but it's what's best for you, not us," his voice hinted at sadness.
"Some brother you are," I scoffed causing him to stare at me with hurt written on his face. "Out of everyone in the house, you knew your decision could've been the official one," I shouted in anger.
"Just because my vote overpowers everyone else doesn't fucking mean it's the right decision. From what Lucifer and Axel told us, you need a lot of fucking time to heal. Not to fucking mention you reliving your memories. Skylar, there are 22 of us, and we're either on a mission or the other half is with their spouse. Supposing no one is home, you become trapped in your memory. What if you destroy the whole house or lose control in general? We don't know how to bring you back like Lucifer and Axel," Gabe shouted at me in anger.
I let out another scoff, "How could you know when YOU HAVEN'T EVEN TRIED," I was now full-on yelling. I wanted to beat his ass. I could totally mop the floor with this dumb fuck.
Gabe stepped up in front of me, closing the distance between us and causing me to look up. Gabe wasn't a demon, but it felt like his eyes turned black at the moment. "Fucking do it. I dare you," he gritted through his teeth. My fist tightened at my side begging to meet his face.
"Fuck you," I growled as walked and pushed him aside with my shoulder. I walked out of the room and ignored James calling me. I walked upstairs and walked into my room before using my powers to slam the door shut behind me and lock it.
Two hours passed, and I couldn't help but grow angrier. James came to check on me, but I didn't open my door, causing him to go back downstairs. I wanted to go home, but I was literally banished from my own home. Having enough, I grabbed my bag and packed some clothes.
I opened my balcony door and looked out to see it was still raining. I looked down to see it was a far jump to the ground. Looking around the room, I stripped my bed and grabbed the sheets before tying it to the balcony railing. I threw my bag over causing it to slam on the grass. I climbed over and climbed down the sheet. As I came to the end of the sheet I looked down to see I was 10 feet off the ground. I lowered myself as much as I could before jumping and landing on the ground.
I grabbed my bag and snuck around the house to the side. Looking in the driveway, I saw a blacked-out R35 parked. I looked at the plates to see it wasn't a car I knew, which meant it was either Lucifer's or Axel's car. I ran over to it and opened the door before throwing my bag in and entering it. I started the car and sped down the driveway before racing down the street.
After an hour of driving, I saw I was in some sort of town. I found a random parking spot and parked the car before opening the armrest to see 2 bands and a pistol. I took one of the bands and grabbed the pistol. I pulled the mag out and saw it was full.
I shoved the pistol behind my back and tucked it under my leggings before grabbing my bag and getting out. As the rain poured, I covered my head with my hoodie. I didn't know where I was going but I knew I had to get far away.
I eventually stopped a taxi and asked to carry me to the next town. He declined but changed his mind when I offered to pay him $200. After almost 2 hours, we were in the next town. He drove around as I looked out the window.
"Stop!" I ordered as my eyes landed on a hotel. I paid him and grabbed my bag before walking into the hotel. I headed to the front desk and got myself a room. I headed up the elevator and went to my room on the 4th floor. I opened the door and locked it before dropping my bag on the floor.
I sat back on the bed, legs up and back against the bedrest. The room was quiet except for the sound of the rain falling, which was calming and relaxing. I laid my head back, and my eyes slowly closed.
Opening my eyes, I watched as my vision became blurry as a foot kicked me in the face. Another kick was then delivered to my stomach, causing me to cough up blood. I went to clutch my stomach, but my hands were chained.
"Get up," the similar voice growled as it grabbed me by the hair and yanked me off the ground before sitting me on the cold metal chair. My vision soon cleared, and I watched as my kidnapper was shirtless with blood on his hands.
I let out a tired sigh as my head fell back. I'm here again. I closed my eyes, willing to commit to whatever he would do to me. I was tired and in pain. A stabbing pain struck me in the arm and I let out a piercing scream. I opened my eyes and watched as he smudged my blood all over my naked chest. I wouldn't mind dying right now.
"I'm going to fuck you and show you who's boss," he growled as he yanked me up from the chair and pushed me over the metal table.
"Sunshine," a voice softly spoke at my side. I opened my eyes to see Axel looking at me with pity. His eyes then flickered to my kidnapper causing his eyes to turn black. "You need to wake up. We're trying to find you but we don't know where you're at. I need you to wake up so you don't get hurt," he quickly spoke trying to hold his anger in as he watched my kidnapper getting ready to use me.
"I don't mind dying," I breathe out turning my face the other way. "She said she doesn't mind dying," Axel spoke in a panic probably to Lucifer.
Axel walked around the metal table into my view. "Please don't make me do this," he begged. I stared at him. it looked like he was about to do something as a last reserved. "Go away," I mumbled as my kidnapper's hand held my waist.
"I'm sorry," he softly spoke before his human form shifted. I watched as the room turned dark around us only leaving me on the metal table and Axel's body that was changing into an inhumane form. His height grew to 7 feet, and his nails stretched out to long, dark coffin nails. A sphade tail grew behind him along with web-wings that dragged to the floor. His eyes grew darker than I thought possible. His face shifted into a demonic feature with horns extending out from the top. The horns had cracks in them that illuminated with white light.
His hand roughly grabbed me and slammed me onto the metal table causing the wind to be knocked out of me. "Wake the fuck up," his sinister tone growled in my ear, and his hand wrapped around my throat, causing me to stop breathing. He then opened his mouth revealing his sharp teeth before biting my neck.
I let out a piercing scream and opened my eyes to see the barrel of a pistol in front of my forehead. I slowly reached out and grabbed the gun that had the safety lock off from mid-air before releasing a sigh. I looked around the room to see everything was intact. I quickly got off the bed and shoved the gun behind me before grabbing my bag and heading out of the room. I checked out even though it was only 6 in the evening.
Wandering around the block, I couldn't help but think about how I almost killed myself in the hotel room. Part of me was angry Axel had done that to me. Maybe if he had waited a few more seconds, I could have just ended it all for good.
I heard bells beginning to ring and followed the sound to see it was a Catholic church. Waking inside, I looked around to see there was no one there except a priest sitting in the front row. Maybe if I ask for a sanctuary, he will give it.
"Hello," I softly spoke as I approached him. The older man turned to me with a smile on his face. "Hello Dear, how may I help you?" he replied.
I hesitated a little before speaking again. "Well," I paused, "I was wondering if you offer sanctuary here. I just need a place to lay low for a little," I explained.
He nodded his head, "Of course. We left sanctuary with no questions asked. Every left and wouldn't be back for two days, so we can pick your room out now if you'd like," he offered. I nodded my head with a smile as he got up and led me from where I came. We entered the side of the building and up some stairs. He then opened a door revealing a small room with a chair by a desk and a twin-size bed.
"It's not much but-"
"It's good enough," I cut him off with a smile. I have to leave in a few minutes but the doors are always open. This town is safe so don't worry about intruders or anything," he smiled before shaking my hand. That's not the kind of intruder I was worried about.
I shook his hand before he left. I dropped my bag on the floor and decided to head out to grab some food. I walked down the stairs and pulled the hoodie over my head. I walked down the street and turned a corner. Looking around, I found it weird how quiet it was and how no one was outside. As I walked down the block, I heard some footsteps behind me. I turned around but saw no one was there. I continued to walk, and the footsteps continued behind me, causing me to speed up. As I sped up, the footsteps sped up too.
After a few seconds, I decided to cross the street, turn back, and cross the street again. The footsteps followed me, and I swiftly turned around to see who was behind me. There was no one.
I turned back around, and a scream escaped from me. "What the hell?" I yelled, looking at him to see him smirking.
"Next time you try to run, don't leave your scent lying around, and don't think so much," he informed me before shaking his head. "Leave me alone," I mumbled and passed him aside, but he stood strong like a brick wall unable to budge. "No. You're going back whether you want to or not," he growled clearly annoyed by my behavior.
"No," I panicked and did the unthinkable. I twist his neck, causing him to drop to the floor. I wasted no time and turned on my heels before running back to the church. I sprinted as hard and as fast as I could.
I finally reached the entrance of the church and pulled open the door. I felt myself pulled back before I entered the church, and I elbowed Lucifer, who was holding me. He released me, causing me to drop to the floor. I crawled toward the church until I was actually inside. I sighed in relief and turned on my back, panting out of breath.
I looked out the entrance and saw Lucifer standing there with black eyes. He was now super pissed off. I stood up from the ground and watched him as he kept his eyes on me. "You have two options. You either come out here right now, or I will come in there and get you," he threatened with his hand against the doorframes.
He can't enter a church. Right? I mean from everything I've seen and was taught, demons and especially the Devil wasn't welcome in here. But this is Lucifer. He doesn't joke like that.
"You're bluffing," my eyes widened. Would he? Could he?
A playful smirk rose to his face. "You see, everyone keeps forgetting I'm a fallen one, which means I am part angel. So walking into a church," he paused and stepped into the church, causing me to freeze in shock. "It will only make my blood boil," he growled, walking up to me. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me outside.
I felt numb. I couldn't believe what had just happened. "Please don't take me back," I begged, pulling my arm out of his grip. He stopped and turned around, looking at me. "Sky, please don't start with me. I'm really trying my best here. I know you don't like your brothers dumping you off on me and Axel, but they were right about your PTSD. Axel and I could help you through it. Just trust the process, please," he softly spoke. Just by his tone, I could tell he was exhausted. We continued to walk in silence.
"Also, twisting my neck was uncalled for," his tone came out cold, breaking the silence. Ha. If he thinks I'm going to apologize then he's wrong.
"You should apologize," he mumbled, reading my mind. What's with you people reading my mind? Get out of my head," I shrieked in disbelief. His phone rang, and he sighed before stopping to answer it.
He looked at the caller ID and at me. "Stay here," he growled, his eyes black. I rolled my eyes, knowing he was just trying to scare me. The phone kept ringing, and I watched as he walked a couple of feet away before picking up. "Stay here," I mimicked his voice.
I watched as he kept talking on the phone. His hands were balled up into a tight fist where you could see the white in his knuckles. "Someone's going to die tonight," I mumbled to myself, "And it was almost me," I laughed at my joke as I recalled the gun incident from earlier.
I watched as he yelled into the phone and I looked around to see no one was outside still. I could run for it, but he would find me since he knows my scent, apparently. There's that and the fact that he was faster than me. I let out a huff and watched as he kept talking on the phone. I looked across the street to see a building with stairs. I walked to the other side of the street and sat on the bottom of the steps.
I let out a huff and closed my eyes in frustration. I just wanted to be left alone, that's all. Why was I even born? Living seems exhausting. I opened my eyes and looked across the street to see Lucifer looking directly at me. I ignored his glare and looked away. After a few more minutes, I heard footsteps and saw him walking up to me.
"We got to go," he growled angrily. It could be because of me, or it could be because of the phone call. I stood up, not bothering to ask any questions. I held my hand, and within a blink, we were back inside my bedroom back in this stupid house again. I looked to see my bed was fixed back and dressed in new sheets.
I heard the door close behind me and turned to see that Lucifer had left without a word. "Home sweet home," I mumbled as I grabbed my towel to shower.
