Chapter 14 (Rewrite)
I pulled up to the driveway and then parked inside the garage. I got off my motorcycle and entered the house. I threw my things on the kitchen counter and headed upstairs. I changed into some sweats and a shirt before returning to the kitchen.
I grabbed a casing of Corona from the fridge and carried it into the living room. I walked towards the Stereo, and Alcohol by Timeflies Tuesday blasted through the house. You got to love Mel's playlist. Homegirl was a vibe. The song started to fill the house, and I popped open a beer and started to drink it.
I got the PS5 controller out from the TV stand and started some COD. This is what my day had come to. Drinking beer and playing video games with music blasting after a long day is somewhat the life. It was just an escape from reality. I did not want to think about my day. If I did, then there are two possible outcomes. The first one is that I might do some stupid thing that sinks me into more trouble, and the second one is that I may cry my eyes out and be mad all at once—uncontrollably sobbing for hours on end.
I grabbed another beer, only to find it was an empty bottle. I stared at the case of beer and then at the time to see I'd been emotionally drinking for the past hour. I turned the music up loud as it was on shuffle and headed back into the kitchen. I poured some Henny into a cup and drank it straight. After a few more drinks, I ate some chips and repeated the cycle of drinking another case of beer. Eventually, it hit almost ten at night, and I was out of beer, and my two bottles of Henny, along with some Rum and Vodka, were done. There was no more alcohol in the house. It sucks how much alcohol it takes for me to get drunk. Stupid powers are constantly fucking something up.
I walked upstairs into my closet and slipped into black shorts, a black shirt, and a black hoodie. I put on my black sneakers, grabbed my Bluetooth headphones from my dresser, and headed downstairs. I skipped down the hall and connected my headphones to my phone before blasting music in my ear. I headed into the garage dancing, feeling a little buzzed. I put on my tinted helmet and gloves and hopped on my motorcycle. The garage gate slid up, and I slowly drove out and stopped in my driveway. It was still raining. I reeved my engine, debating whether I was going to do something risky or not.
"Fuck it," I mumbled to myself as I took off with speed. I clicked the button under the clutch, which caused my plates to be hidden. I sped down the street and towards the city. The music felt louder, and the rain got more robust. I loved every second of it. I raced through the streets, skipping through red lights. I glimpsed in my mirror as a flash indicated the traffic camera trying to take a picture of me and my plates. Too slow. I stepped harder on the gas, which caused the motorcycle to go fast. I dodged more cars and ran more red lights. I checked my mirror occasionally, watching people slam on their brakes before jumping out of the car, probably to yell at me.
After a few more minutes, I saw lights flashing behind me. I smirked at how thrilling this was. My music was then cut off as I heard my ringtone going off. I used my powers to decline the call, causing my music to start again. I glimpsed behind me to see more cop cars chasing me. My music cut again, causing me to groan in annoyance.
"Heller," I answered before turning a corner, my hand grazing the floor as I turned.
"Sky, I love you, but what the fuck are you doing? Do you know you're on TV right now?" James' voice came out angry. Woah, there, buddy. Eat a snicker bar. Wait, I'm on TV?
I let out a giggle. "Really?" I looked around and then up at the rainy sky to see a news helicopter with a spotlight barely keeping up with me. I gestured a kiss to the helicopter camera before speeding off.
"Are you drunk?" he shrieked. He was probably watching me on TV. I heard the guys in the background talking, but I drowned them out. "Relax and stop getting your panties in a twist. We all know how to drive drunk, and besides, if I get arrested, the organization will bail me out, and it will be erased from the - RED LIGHT!" I shouted in laughter as I ran over it.
"It still doesn't mean to be reck-"
"Love you, brother. I'll be fine," I squealed as I let go of the steering wheel and hung up, cutting him off. My music started blasting again, and I looked to see spikes lining the crosswalk from one side to the other and cop cars waiting for me ahead of me, which caused me to giggle. This was going to be fun.
I maxed out my speed, and as I approached the spikes, I used my powers to jump over them. I watched as another cop threw down spikes, and I quickly jumped over them before landing the bike. I used my powers to control the bike as I stood up on my seat and turned around. I took a bow and threw kisses at them and the helicopter that had a spotlight on me. I jumped down onto my seat and drove off towards the bridge.
I drove across the bridge but stopped midway when I saw that cops had blocked off the other side. I looked behind me to see that cops were blocking the way I came from. They were also slowly pushing up to me from both ends, some in cars and now the state troopers.
"Finally caught up to me, huh," I mumbled. I watched as I slowly became surrounded by guns aimed at me. I raised my hands, only for the cops to mouth something at me. I paused my music and heard them shouting at me to get on the ground.
Before I could do anything, a car exploded from where I came, quickly causing everyone's attention to turn to the explosion. Within a brief second, another one exploded from my left, causing my head to turn. More cars started to explode, and all the lights went out, along with the spotlight from the helicopter.
Within a swift motion, I was picked up bridal style, and within a blink, I saw I was on an empty street filled with stores. I looked around to see the empty open stores, but no one was on the street. I was slowly placed down and realized I was not in the city anymore. I didn't know where I was.
A pair of hands held my shoulder, and I hadn't realized I was spinning around admiring the place. It was pretty beautiful, and the sky was the best view as stars, and the Milky Way could be seen. I looked at the buff chest and arms of the person to see that they were tattooed. The hands reached for my helmet and slowly took it off me. I looked up to see Lucifer staring down at me. A smirk then rose to his face, "You want to explain why the whole of New York City's police department is after you?" His eyebrow rose.
I giggled, "You forgot the state troopers," I added.
"And she's drunk," he chuckled. Come on, let's get you some food," he grabbed my hand. Our fingers intertwined as I followed beside him, his free hand holding my helmet.
As we walked, I looked at our hands and stopped before squealing. He quickly released my hand, causing me to stop.
"What?" he questioned in confusion.
I shrugged and kept walking, "Don't you have a hoe or something?" I was referring to his so-called girlfriend, Gabriela. Stupid bitch.
"Is someone jealous?" he chuckled as he walked beside me. "Yes. As a matter of fact, I am," I bluntly replied, unable to control my thoughts and what I wanted to say as the rum kicked in.
"Really?" he asked amused. I glimpsed to him, "Don't pretend you don't know. I already know you read my mind in the office," I commented.
"Fair enough. Drunk Sky is a ruthless person," he chuckled. I shrugged. "So why save me?" I questioned.
He shrugged, "There's nothing I wouldn't do for you."
Except stay. Maybe he didn't love me enough.
He stopped in his tracks, causing me to stop and turn to look at him. I was going to ask what had happened, but I remembered he had probably read my thoughts.
"Sky," he sighed, "I just thought I was making the right choice. After a couple of months, I realized it was a mistake," he admitted, rubbing the back of his head. I could see the pain on his face, but I didn't care. I wanted him to hurt the way I did.
"And you still didn't come back after that," I mumbled before walking. I didn't know where I was walking to, but I didn't stop.
"You're right. I don't have any excuse," he spoke sternly.
We stayed quiet while walking, and after a few minutes, I could hear music in the distance. I followed the trail of the music and saw it was a club called N0\/A. I ran to the entrance to see no one outside except the security. He glimpsed behind me before opening the door. I looked behind me to see Lucifer was here with me.
He glared down at me, "We're supposed to be getting you food."
"Food later, party now!" I squealed as I ran inside. As I entered the club, I was met with cold air, smoke everywhere, and people dancing. I danced my way onto the floor and started dancing and giggling with people as Temperature by Sean Paul started to play.
"Drink?" someone offered. I turned to see a woman in a fishnet one-piece serving drinks on a gold platter. It's such a fancy place. "What is it?" I asked, eyeing the shot glasses.
"Our special brand of Whiskey," she smiles. I took one and thanked her before she walked away. The music got louder, and I got drunker. I took more shots, and everything felt so good. A hand then grabbed me, and I saw it was Lucifer. He mouthed something to me, but I couldn't hear over the loud music. I felt myself sliding to the floor, and Lucifer quickly picked me up.
Within a blink, we were somewhere else. "Sit and stay," he softly spoke, putting me down on something soft. "Yes, Master," I saluted him before laughing and falling over on something soft. I looked around to see I was in a living room.
Wow, this is nice. It's so fancy, too. Looks expensive. I wish it were warm. I'm starting to get cold.
My eyes trailed in front of me, and I saw that just a few feet away, Lucifer was talking to someone in front of him. As I gazed over his body, my eyes widened. I could never forget a body like that let alone a face.
"I know you!" I gasped in realization. I watched as they both turned to look at me. I watched a smirk grow on his face as he looked at me.
"So we meet again," he chirped. Lucifer let out a groan. This is great. Just perfect," he said sarcastically.
I got up, only to not feel my legs. A pair of hands caught me quickly before I fell. His scent then hit me, causing me to giggle.
He's a demon. A DEMON! No wonder he smells so good and looks so handsome.
"You smell amazing," I admitted. It was that guy I ran into on Zane's mission with whom I made a deal so we could walk away from the fight unharmed.
"And you're wet," he chuckled, referring to my wet clothes being soaked from the rain.
"Yeah. Sorry," I frowned. I probably smelt like a wet dog.
He chuckled and shook his head as he held me up. "I could make you more wet if you'd like," he winked, causing my cheeks to turn red.
"AXEL!" Lucifer's voice boomed from behind us.
Axel. Such a pretty name for a pretty Demon.
"Kidding," he laughed as Lucifer walked away. "Not really," he whispered to me. "Heard that!" Lucifer shouted from outside the room.
I was placed on something soft again and looked up to see Axel no longer in the room. He then reappeared, sitting next to me with a blanket, which he held open with a smile. I removed my hoodie and threw it on the floor before climbing onto his lap and sitting. He let out a chuckle before wrapping me in the blanket and holding me.
I turned to look at him, so my legs were on both sides of him. "I was sad you left me."
Axel frowned, "I know, but I didn't have a choice. I'm sorry."
I stared into his grey eyes. He's so fucking handsome.
"Don't do that," his deep voice came out softly and heavenly. "Do what," I choked out. His smell was intoxicating.
"What you're thinking about," he whispered. "Just thinking how you're handsome and smell good," I partly admitted.
A smirk rose to his lips, "That's all?" he questioned. I bit my lip, trying to bite back my words from spilling. "Sure," I choked out again.
Axel looked down between us, and I saw his hands slowly trailing up my sides under my shirt. His touch against my skin drove me crazy inside. I looked at him to see he was already staring at me, waiting for me to protest. His eyes turned black, and his hand continued up my shirt.
"I heard what you were thinking about me that day after I left," he whispered, his voice turning sinister. His scent was driving me fucking crazy. It's not something you could ignore or get over. I hummed in response.
"You were craving for someone like me who carried themselves with dignity and absolute domination," he requoted my words. These are the words I thought of while I showered that day. I felt my cheeks turning red in embarrassment. I looked down, and my hair fell onto my face. How fucking embarrassing.
His hand reached for my chin and softly raised it, causing me to look back at him. "Don't be embarrassed. I like it," he smiled.
"Not trying to kill the mood or that I care too much, but wouldn't Lucifer kill us?" I found myself asking.
"Not necessarily. We share certain things sometimes and people," he winked, "Besides, he's not here. He went to get you food." His hand went back under my shirt, causing me to giggle as his thumb grazed over my ribs.
"Do the thingy, please," I pouted. His eyebrow rose, "What thingy?"
I placed my hands on his shoulders and stared into his now grey eyes. "You do this thing where you put me in a trance before. It's like your scent heightens, and your voice is deep but angelic."
A smirk rose to his lips. "Tell me what you really want," his voice deepened, and my lungs were filled with his scent. "Ah, there's the serotonin," I giggled, passing my fingers through his hair.
I watched as he stared. "Sorry," I mumbled as I pulled my hands away. I realized I wasn't in control of my actions or words. He quickly grabbed my hands and placed them back where they were.
"I don't have a problem with you touching me. I'm just wondering how Lucifer fucked this up. You're so beautiful and innocent, " he whispered as his eye bore into mine. I felt him get hard under me, and I would be lying if I said I didn't like it.
"I wouldn't say innocent. I got drunk and had the whole of NYC chase me," I chuckled, causing him to smirk. "Not the type of innocent I meant, Sunshine."
I stared at his lips. I want to kiss you so badly.
"Do it," he whispered, leaning in. I leaned forward and crashed my lips on his. He squeezed my sides, causing me to gasp. As I gasped, his tongue slipped into my mouth and explored it, taking my breath away. I let out a soft moan as I felt his member get harder through his pants.
"Fuck," he mumbled as he pulled away, leaving me out of breath. "I want more of you, but I would like you to be sober and remember this," he groaned in annoyance.
I frowned, "I get drunk, but I always remember what happens. I don't black out."
"Lucifer, you told me you drank some shots at the club," he said sadly. I stared at him, waiting for an explanation.
I watched as he realized I didn't know what he was talking about. "Oh, you don't know. The club was a demon club. The shots are strong for demons, but when a human drinks it, it's like amnesia. You wouldn't remember anything for a couple of hours after drinking it," he explained.
I felt my heart shatter to pieces. His eyes widened as he cupped my face. "What's wrong? Don't cry," he spoke softly, wiping my tears away with his thumbs.
"I wouldn't remember you," I cried. Axel chuckled, "Sunshine, it's okay. Don't cry. We'll probably meet again eventually, and then we can resume this," he winked, trying to cheer me up.
"Even if we meet again, I wouldn't remember," I pouted. "I remind you," he assured me.
I stuck my pinky out, "Pinky promise?"
He wrapped my pinky in his, "I pinky promise."
I lay my head against his shoulder as he cradled me and kissed my forehead. After a few more minutes, Lucifer came in with food. He sat next to us and fed me while Axel held me.
"Did Axel try anything?" Lucifer asked, looking from Axel to me. I shook my head. "No, but I did," I admitted as I ate my pasta. Lucifer chuckled. "I'm also guessing he told you that you wouldn't remember," he questioned, and I hummed in response, food in my mouth.
I looked at Axel, his head laid back and his eyes closed. I looked to Lucifer, who was now feeding me my soda.
Usually, you're mad. Why aren't you?
"Because when it comes to certain things between us, I'm okay with it. Slightly."
Lucifer fed me more pasta, and I ate it.
Is it only with him, and why slightly?
"Long story. Maybe another time. Eat, then we'll take you home," he softly smiled.
I nodded my head and ate the rest of my food. When I was done, Axel carried me while we teleported in front of my house, which was slightly out of the city from the office. I glared at Lucifer, who smirked.
"I told you I could always find you. I know where all your houses are," he winked before we teleported inside my bedroom.
Axel gently let me down, and I thanked him.
"This is goodbye for now," Axel planted a kiss on my forehead. "And I will see you tomorrow," Lucifer smiled at me.
They were going to leave me. I didn't want them to leave.
"Wait!" I shouted as they were about to leave. "Stay until I shower and fall asleep, please," I softly spoke.
"Okay," Axel smiled. I looked at Lucifer, who was looking at me, before smiling as he realized I meant him, too. "We'll be here," he assured me. I grabbed my towel and hopped in the shower. Part of me wondered if they would leave while I was in the shower. I mean, it's not like I would remember anyway. I exited the shower and brushed my teeth before walking into my room, half expecting them not to be there.
Looking up, I saw they were both in shirts and sweats. They had also showered and changed. I walked into my closet and got into an oversized shirt before towel-drying my hair and walking out. I climbed into bed, and Axel got into my bed on the left while Lucifer got in on the right, so I was in the middle.
"Sweet dreams, Sunshine," Axel muffled into my hair as he spooned me so I was facing Lucifer. He then slipped his hand under my shirt so his hand was on my stomach. Lucifer rolled his eyes and shook his head at Axel's actions.
"Is someone feeling left out?" I teased. "A little," he glared. I rolled my eyes and gestured for him to come closer. He came closer, and I placed his hand over my waist. "Goodnight, Princessa," he spoke softly as I yawned.
"Goodnight to you both, and thank you for saving me," I said, placing my head on his shoulder before falling asleep.
