Y/n smiled and waved the little girl goodbye. The man at the booth she was at, closed down, and Y/n left with her pockets full of tickets as well as a spare bag full. She wandered around until she found her team among a large crowd. At the front was Gar and Jaime having a dance battle in a boot leg version of Dance Dance Revolution. From what she could see, Garfield was winning by a landslide. Garfield was using his hands and feet while Jaime could barely keep up. The K-pop song ended and the machine declared Gar the winner.

Jaime walked off the machine and to his friends. "Free popcorn to anyone who can slay the beast."

"I can do it," Damian.

"I've known you for years," Y/n snorted. "When the hell did you learn how to dance?"

"I'm a quick study," Damian muttered as he walked onto the dance floor.

The Titans looked at Y/n. "What?"

"Do you think he can do it?" Jaime asked.

Y/n looked at him and then on the stage, the two were selecting the song, and she looked back at him. "Bet all my winnings Damian wins," she held up her bag and made her way to the front of the crowd, pushing past people. Jaime yelled out a 'You're on' as he followed her into the crowd.

Damian wasn't doing the best. He got the occasional point but he was falling behind - and fast. Jaime cheered for Garfield and it frustrated Y/n.

Come on Damian. Just...

"Kick his ass, Damian!" Y/n cheered. She cheered some more and threw her fist into the air to show her support. Emerald eyes gazed down at her and with sudden motivation, Damian began to catch up with his opponent. The words on his screen changed to positive reinforcements. "Go Damian!"

"Go Garfield," Jaime chanted as he smiled with Kori.

The foreign language filled the people's ears as they danced along with the two boys on stage. Garfield was getting tired and out of breath. He grasped onto the support beam behind him and began to fall behind. After the song ended, and with a final jump, Damian was declared the winner. The two walked, well Damian did, Gar stumbled down due his legs feeling like jelly, and were greeted with the team.

"Awesome dude," Jaime smiled.

Kori followed behind, "Yes, quite impressive." Garfield stumbled to them, out of breath. "You were very good too, Garfield."

Y/n jumped and slapped Jaime on the shoulder. "Told you he'd win! Now give me my tickets," she stuck out her hand and Jaime rolled his eyes before placing all his paper tickets in them. She stuck her winnings into her bag and faced Damian. "I guess you can add dancing to your special skills."

Damian was about to say something back when an explosion from across the carnival went off. Raven, who the team now noticed wasn't with them, was thrown across the ground with large red beings surrounding her. The bystanders were screaming as they ran away in terror but five remained in their place.

"Titans, go!" Kori shouted, using her alien powers to change outfits. She was now dressed in her Starfire persona. Garfield flung his hat away, unzipped his jacket, and turned into a tiger, Jaime allowed the scarab to active his armor. Being the only two people on the team with no powers at their side, Y/n and Damian ran towards the car as the rest fought the monsters.

Damian tried to open the car door but Kori had locked it and Y/n was messing with something on her leg. Once she found what she was looking for, she pick locked the trunk and popped it open. She heard a shattering sound and saw Damian reaching into the back seat to retrieve his katana. He started to walk away when she called to him.

"Here," she threw him a black duffel bag.

He opened it and inside was his uniform. "Old habits really do die hard," he looked at her and was surprised when he saw her (turned around) taking her top off and putting on the top of her uniform. Figuring he should do the same he began to quickly undress. After years of practice, the two had learned how to put on their uniforms without wasting a single second and they were finished fast. Covering themselves with their hoods and placing their masks on, Cardinal and Robin ran towards their teammates.

They made it just in time to see their friends being corners by the monsters. Robin threw batarangs and Cardinal rolled bombs that distracted them. Not wanting to waste arrows Cardinal picked two knives from her utility belt and spun them around, attacking up close whenever she got the chance. When the red beings were gone, Raven put down her shield.

"Please tell me they're undead," Robin asked, taking in his father's no killing rule. And considering if they were alive, they weren't now.

"Yes, but you can't stop them like that," Raven informed. "They're like batteries." As she said that the things rose from their smoke, growling.

"Then lets run them down," Starfire flew into the air, shooting neon green beams at them. Raven joined her in the sky.

On the ground Blue Beetle was shooting his plasma rays at them. Robin used his sword and Cardinal used her retracted bow to knock them down, stabbing them whenever she could. Beast Boy was using different animals to use various attacks. Above the three, Starfire and Raven were being slammed into a wooden shack, Starfire becoming unconscious as one of the beasts lurked forwards.

Finally taking them down the team regrouped. Starfire came to and stood up.

"Whoo, yeah, we kicked some demon boot-ay," Beast Boy cheered. "Oh yeah, that's right baby," he gave Beetle a high five and went towards Robin for his. "Up top." Nothing. "Hit me," he encouraged one more time. Robin groaned. Cardinal told both of them to shut up when they all saw Raven slowly descend from the sky. Y/n furrowed her eyes and started to walk towards her when Beetle grabbed her shoulder, stopping her. He shook his head and nodded at Raven. She looked liked a kicked puppy. Realizing what Jaime was talking about, Cardinal shrugged of his hand and moved away, still wanting answers.

"Robin said I didn't know enough about you," Starfire told Raven. "I think he was right. You told me you didn't have a father."

Raven looked to the side. "What I said is that he's gone."

"That's not the same as dead," Robin told her.

"He's dead to me," Raven turned around and it pissed Y/n off.

Cardinal growled and stepped towards spinning Raven around. "Look, they may want to spare your feelings, but I couldn't care less. What the hell is going on Raven?" Star tried to tell Cardinal to stop. "No, Kori. She lied to us for months and now some freak show tries to kill us. We want answers, Raven. No more of your mystic bullshit. What is going on? Why is your father trying to kill you?"

"He's not trying to kill me. It's much worse," the empath held out her hand and transported the team to a different realm. Once they reappeared, their surroundings were much different. Giant cement columns were fallen, debris was everywhere, wherever they were, it was abandoned.

"It's safe to say we're not in Kansas anymore," Beast Boy joked.

"It's no starfield I recognize," Star commented. "Where are we?"

"Somewhere my father can't see us."

"Alright," Robin told her. "Let's hear it."

"There's so much. I guess it starts with my mom," Raven began her tale. "She was young, rebellious, and gullible. Of course she wound up in a cult. Anyway, they decided to do the classic bride of Satan rite. And guess who got to be the lucky bride? I doubt anyone expected it to work, but the ancient ceremony turned out to be the real thing. So, mom, with her great powers of judgment, didn't hesitate to hook up with the guy who emerged from the smoke."

"Whoa, whoa, wait," Beast Boy cut in. "So, your mom did it with Satan?" The whole team groaned.

"His name is Trigon, but basically, yes."

"But they totally did it," Y/n smacked his head and Starfire told Raven to continue.

"It gets weirder. Mom fled the cult and was on the run with nowhere to go, when she gets saved by these people from another dimension. The people of Azarath. A realm of beauty, peace, and tranquility where needless to say, I did not fit in. And I must have inherited my mom's terrible judgment because I thought if I found out more about the monster who made me, I'd be able to make sense of myself.

"Poor mother, poor Azarath. I became its Trojan horse. He took me to his hellish universe. I could hardly bear the horrors I saw there."

"Why did Trigon want you?" Starfire questioned as she rubbed her arm.

Raven faced her, "He wanted Earth. He's a conqueror of worlds. But he needs a powerful conduit to open Earth to his control."

"And you're half human," Robin added. "His way in."

Raven continued. "But my magic was stronger than he realized. Before he could use me, I was able to trap him inside a crystal. It should've held him. Perhaps if I had stayed there, it would have. But I wanted a home." She looked down and Cardinal looked away, she felt guilty for yelling at the girl earlier.

"Why didn't you go back to Azarath?" Beetle asked.

"This is Azarath," Raven stated as the team looked at the destroyed ruins of a long forgotten home.
