Chapter 13
So, here we are, this is the last chapter of Return of the Demon. I'm so thankful for everything we have been through. I can't believe this series is almost done. Only two books let. I remember when I published the first chapter of Bride of the Demon in 2017. Almost three years ago. Speaking of which, 40k reads?? holy sheeeeet!!! Anyway, I'm gonna be posting the fourth book when I've written a few chapters because I'm not going to have any breaks until spring so I will be hella busy with finals. ugh.
So as you know, I ask every book, I hate making covers. I'm horrible at it and prefer writing -_-. sooo, if you'd like to, I'd be really thankful for one! The title of the fourth book of the BotD series is..... "Defying their Demons"!!
Enjoy

Their peaceful moment was ruined by two things: Cardinal realizing Robin has a large gash on his stomach and the giant purple screaming beam shining down at the center of the tower. Cardinal gave her partner a questioning look, he shook his head, telling her his wound wasn't the thing they should focus on. Sighing, the cloaked heroine agreed and helped Batman's sidekick gather their weapons.
Picking up her bow, Cardinal retracted it into its smallest form and slid it into the holder on her belt. She looked back at where the body of the demon she killed laid. The red hero grimaced at the thought of how the monster tried to manipulate her. Robin pulled her out of her thoughts, bringing her back to reality. She and the boy walked around the large skull-filled tooth and saw their teammate kneeling at the center of the platform. She seemed to be holding something.
Robin and Cardinal walked down the twisted walkway to check on Raven. When they reached the middle, Robin put his hand on Raven's cloaked shoulder. She looked back in distress only to see it was her friends. Relaxing at them being okay, Raven's attention was moved to the rest of the Titans as they flew towards the three.
Starfire flew towards them in concern, "Raven!" She landed and walked to her. "Is it over?"
Raven put her head down, "It'll never be over." She looked up at the team leader, "Trigon will spend every single minute trying to get out of here, so he needs to be watched every single minute." Robin, Cardinal, and Star looked at each other. Star held out her hand, telling Raven it was time to go home. The pale girl smiled and accepted the help up. "I'll take you back," she opened a portal to the Tower. Everyone started to leave when Raven piped up again. Everyone turned around at her voice, "Unfortunately," she took a few steps back. "This is my home. I have to watch him." She walked away to resume her job of watching her demonic father.
Robin stepped up, stopping her. "This isn't your home." All their focus was on the Boy Wonder. "Home is the place where when you have to go there," he took a few steps to his girlfriend and laced his hand with Cardinal's. They looked at each other and she gave him a small smile. "They have to take you in."
"Robert Frost," Starfire smiled. "You are full of surprises, Damian."
"You're coming with us," Cardinal looked at Raven. Said girl looked down at the crystal piece in her hand then to the group and smiled.
It had been a few days since the battle with Trigon ended. As soon as the Titans returned to the Tower, everything resumed at its normal pace. Garfield ran to the kitchen to make a bowl of cereal, Jaime went to his room to take a hot shower. Kori did the same, after calling her boyfriend, wanting to hear his voice after a long day. Raven went to her room to do whatever she did and Cyborg boomed himself back to wherever he came from. Damian went to find his father, only to see that he was not on the couch where he was previously resting. Y/n ran to her room and whipped open her laptop, not bothering to change out of her uniform.
She typed her father's name into the video calling app and waited impatiently as the three dots moved. The device rang until the automatic voice spoke, saying the person was not available. Y/n hung up again and hit the call button again. The results were the same. Y/n started to panic when she exited the screen and typed in a different name.
Felicity's name was big across the screen, the three dots moved again until the screen said the person was unavailable. Y/n started to panic, William would be at his afterschool program so he wasn't able to call. Her door opened, and Y/n swung around in her swivel chair to see who walked in. It was Damian, he was out of uniform, and must have seen how panic Y/n looked because he rushed to her.
"What's wrong?"
Y/n shook her head, "Oliver and Felicity aren't answering, Damian, why aren't they answering!"
Damian grabbed her hands and squeezed. With Trigon possessing The Green Arrow, and with Felicity being Overwatch, there was a chance things didn't end out so good for either of them. But he couldn't tell her that, she already knew. Not knowing what to do, Damian pulled her to his chest, trying to help her calm down. Before he could say anything the screen lit up, the three dots reappearing, with Oliver's name on the screen.
Y/n let out a sigh of relief, a small sign her parents weren't dead, and moved her chair closer to the desk. Clicking the accept option, Y/n flashed her pearls when Oliver's face showed on her screen.
"Hey, Kiddo, what's wrong?" her father asked.
"I just wanted to make sure you and Felicity were alright."
Oliver brushed his fingers through his hair and adjusted the camera to show that Felicity was next to him, they seemed to be in the "Arrow Cave" as some of the members from their private team liked to call it. Y/n remembered when she first saw the Arrow Cave. She laughed and said it was far smaller than the Batcave. When she told Richard about it, he laughed at her accidental joke about size being important.
"Don't worry about us, Y/n. How are you doing?" Felicity questioned, her motherly love shining. "I heard you guys had to fight the devil, how was that? I mean, bad obviously, but you won, so yay! Oh, hi Damian, I didn't see you there!"
"Hello, Mrs. Queen, Mr. Queen," Damian greeted. Damian looked down at Y/n, happy she had nothing to worry about when Felicity disturbed the beat of silence.
"Oh my God, you two are together!" she practically screamed. The camera shook, due to Oliver being startled by her sudden squeally outburst. Her face was bunched up in excitement, while on the other end of the line, Y/n's was crimson red.
"What?!" Oliver looked at his wife, who was far too gone in happy land to notice or care, then to his daughter and the boy in her room. "Y/n, what is she talking about?"
"I'll tell you about it later, we're getting a poor connection, I love you bye!" Y/n clicked the end call button and closed her laptop shut. "You do know they're going to call your father right?"
"Yes, but I was expecting a call anyway. I assume Starfire is planning on telling Grayson as soon as she gets the chance," Damian rolled his eyes and Y/n chuckled.
She let her laugh fall into a smile. "I'm glad you moved to the Tower, Damian." He pulled her, the chair making a slight squeak as she rolled to his chest. He put his head on top of hers. He was glad too.
It was almost afternoon the week after next when the Titans got a video call from the League. On the large screen stood Green Arrow, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash. The man in the middle of the group (Batman) updated the team of young heroes on the encounter with Trigon.
"I've sifted through all the data and found no signs of the corruptors for the ten days since our encounter with Trigon."
Superman spoke up with a cheery attitude, "In other words, great work, Titans."
"Your determination and teamwork saved the world," Wonder Woman added. "And us. You should be very proud of them, Kori"
Starfire smiled bashfully at the compliment.
"As are we," Batman told them. He was thankful for all they had done. The meeting was interrupted when Cyborg boomed into the living room, hands full of pizza boxes. "Carry on, Titans." Cyborg groaned about how he wasn't going to be able to live that down.
Cardinal and Robin grabbed their slices and sat down on the couch. A layer of chatter rose around the room. Robin munched on his slice, his arm around Cardinal's shoulders, thinking about nothing in particular. Cardinal laid head against him and ate her pizza. Pulled out of his empty thoughts, Damian looked at his girlfriend. The girl he was chasing for so long, the girl who made his head spin and his heartache, the girl who he thought he would never in a billion years ever be with, the girl he loved was resting on him. Just relaxing and enjoying the moment.
Damian smelled the flavor of the vegetable pizza in his hand, took a bite, and let his head fall onto Y/n's.
