A/N: Here is chapter 1 of SH RoLM :D (Shadowhunters: Return of Lost Memories for short). Took me a while and I'm sorry it did, but motivation is a pain in the ass. Anyways, Imma head back to my planning document and see what I can use for chapter 2 >:)

"Sweet dear Alicyn~ Why don't you come to me and return what's mine? Then we can live happily as we rule the shadow world together!~" The brawny male grinned to himself wickedly, holding his glowing blade to his former friend's throat and slitting it slowly, enjoying the sounds of gurgling emitting from the other as he fell to the floor.

"Never in a million years, you psycho!" The woman 'Alicyn' yelled to the deranged male as she pulled out a glowing stone stick and held it across one of the many drawings on her body, making the symbol glow momentarily. Before the male could get a word out, she ran. She ran as far as her energy would take her. Making it all the way to the other side of town, she collapsed in an alley, breathing heavily as she regained her strength.

"Don't worry child, Mama's got you." She whispered as she placed a hand to her slightly grown stomach, smiling weakly before the world around her turned black.

Plenty of birds perched themselves along the power lines around the city of New York. Rushed footsteps patting against the concrete paths as people hurried in the middle of the busy weekday. The chime of a bell could be heard as a green-haired male walked through the entrance of a small cafe, looking around before smiling when his eyes landed on his fellow greenette sitting at one of the many tables with a book in his face. Ahh, his best friend of 8 years; Kai.

"Yo Kai!" Kris yelled out, chuckling lightly when his friend nearly fell off his seat from the sudden call of his name. 'Kai' looked for the human who called his name before locking eyes with a certain individual walking towards him, earning himself a grin from ear to ear. "Hey Kris!"

The two of them hugged, shook hands and did all of that meet-and-greet bullshit before taking their seats at the table. "So~ How's the birthday boy been today?~" Kai asked with a smug look on his face, leaning forward on his elbows as he looked to the other awaiting an answer to his previously asked question. Kristyn smiled to himself as he remembered his day so far.

"It's been great, to be honest. Got a present from Di at the home store earlier, which I plan on wearing to the big gig at the Pandemonium tonight~" The blue-eyed male winked to his bestie, who grinned excitedly about the event later that evening. As the two happily continued their chat, Kris placed his big sketchpad onto the table after getting tired of carrying it.

"Oooooo, speaking of art~ How was your application for that art school? Decronoma Academy? I don't remember." Kris giggled lightly when his friend managed to butcher the name completely, opening the book to a blank page where a folded piece of paper was previously slotted between the pages.

"Well, it didn't go exactly how I planned..." He said in a mockingly fake voice, handing the folded note to his now frowning friend. Kai looked at the other upset but then confused as a piece of paper was placed in front of his face. He took it and opened it, suddenly a grin exploded on his face when he read the first three words on the page saying 'Congratulations Kristyn Pley!'

"You made it! And for a moment you had me fooled." The friends had a laugh for a moment before their orders had arrived, Kai getting a cup of cappuccino and two rusk while Kris got a caramel hot chocolate.

"Man, they forgot my biscuit!" Kris pouted as he looked towards the counter with fake anger on his face. Kai shook his head at his friend's childish attitude before placing one of his biscuits on his friend's plate."Well lucky you then, I always get two." The blue-eyed male looked back towards his friend with a happy grin on his face. "Awwww, don't I have such a kind bestie?"

As the pair of semi-adults laughed at their childish ways while sipping on their individual drinks, Kris could see in the corner of his eye something that wasn't on his book before. Looking more closely at it, he saw an exact drawing of the biscuit he was holding. He thought nothing of it until he reached over to bite the biscuit, that was no longer in his hand.

"Dude, you trying to bite air or somethin'?" Kai watched his friend with a chuckle, taking the last bite of his biscuit as he observed his friend's actions. He watched as Kristyn lifted up the piece of paper and pulled it closer for a better look, raising an eyebrow. "Whatcha lookin' at?" To answer his question, the piece of paper was flipped over to reveal a perfect replica drawing of the chocolate biscuit Kris was holding. "Wow, you must have been aching for a biscuit if you managed to draw one that quick." Kai snickered. Kris looked at his friend with a slight frown, he didn't remember drawing a biscuit on his book nor did he remember eating it in the first place!

As if to break the sudden tension in the room, Kai started to ramble about the things he was excited for at the big gig tonight while Kristyn listened in, still puzzled about the whole 'biscuit' ordeal.

Soon enough, the two had finished their conversation and drinks. They paid their bill before walking out of the small cafe, saying farewell to each other before parting ways to get ready for the big show at the Pandemonium. Let's just say that there was a certain excitement lingering in the air as time grew closer to that time of night.

"You really think I'm gonna let you go out like that?" Kristyn's mother, Alicyn, said sternly with her arms crossed as she stood in the doorway of her son's bedroom, looking towards the greenette as he got ready for the eventful night that was awaiting him.

"Mum, I'm a grown man now. Plus, Det would've have picked it out for me if she knew it wouldn't look good, which I think it does." Kris smirked at he looked at himself in the mirror. Dark red boots at the end of some ripped denim jeans, dark grey and green button-up shirt (one sleeve up and one down), a fishnet glove on the side where the sleeve was up, black-tinted glasses on his head and a white neck tie to finish the outfit.

Alicyn sighed, there was no way she was gonna get her son to change his mind so she may as well accept it. "Fine, but nobody hits or flirts with you otherwise I will personally kick their asses. And you better be home straight afterwards, no after-parties or sneaking off to someone's house, you got it?"

"Yeah yeah, I got it. Like I'd want anyone flirting with me anyways. Also, I got nowhere to go after the show anyways." The 18-year-old male finishes up tying his neck tie before looking at himself proudly in the mirror. Honestly, he wishes someone would flirt with him, compliment him even. Tell him he's handsome, good-looking, hot. Instead, he gets the constant worries from his mother whenever he leaves the house to live out a social life. "Oh shoot! Kai should be waiting outside right now so I gotta go! See you tonight, mum!" He quickly grabs his cellphone and runs out the door, not before giving his mother a small kiss on the cheek.

Once he was out the door, Alicyn looks towards the direction her boy just ran as a small smile grows on her face. 'He's really growing up to be a handsome young boy... Like his father used to be..."

As Kris had said before, the other greenette was leaning against his van, scrolling through his cellphone as he awaited for his friend. "Kai!" For the second time that day, Kris had frightened his friend and nearly made him drop his phone onto the concrete path below.

"Kris! Seriously, that's the second time today!" Kai scolded as he held a hand over his heart dramatically, playfully glaring at his friend who was just grinning widely at him.

"Sorry not sorry dude! C'mon, we don't wanna keep your bandmates too long, now do we?"

"Alright alright, we're going!"

Loud music could be heard blasting from inside the club, a bright red neon sign blinking on and off between the words 'Pandemonium' and 'demon' stood at the top of the front entrance where bright lights emitted from the repeatedly opening doors. Two vans were parked near this entrance, one with a copper colour to its coating while the other was more of an light grey iron colour. Stepping out of the grey van were the two greenettes, Kai and Kris, while stepping out of the white van were two others; one was female and had long black hair while the other was another male with light brown hair with blond tips, neatly combed back.

"Hey Kai, Kris!" The female waved towards the pair who were walking up to them. They both grinned and waved back. "Hey Riley! Hey Connor!" Kai called out to his bandmates, giving them the friendly greet as he and Kris carried some equipment from the van.

"Heyo. You guys ready for the show?" The greenettes looked at each other for a moment before grinning, turning back to their friend and nodding. "Hell yeah we are! I can't wait to watch you guys perform!" The blue-eyed male exclaimed with excitement, Kai looked at him with a smirk.

"Yeah, remember to pay attention to the show and not someone flirting with you, alright?"

The other two snickered as Kris' face goes a light red, looking away from the band with a small 'hmph'. Still chuckling, Connor speaks up. "Well, we're due to perform in bout 15 minutes so we should probably get set up. Kris, you still got those spray cans?" Kris manages to shake off the sudden fluster on his face as he grins once again, picking out a neon green canister from the small box he was holding. "Right here."

"Good good. Now let's get going!" The amigos cheered before heading inside the eye-blinding luminous night club known as Pandemonium, unaware that their night will not turn out how they would've expected.

As Kris was walking behind the others, he feels a bump on his shoulder and one of the black spray cans fall out of his box, clanking across the concrete floor.

"Ah shit, I'm sorry man. Didn't see where I was going!" The greenette apologised to whoever he had bumped into before bending down to grab the runaway can, having a bit of struggle with the box in his hand. As he tried to grab it, suddenly the can was being placed in his box. "Oh, thanks dude!" Kris smiles, standing up as he looks towards the other. Then he manages to get a good look.

Dark blue hair the colour of a sapphire gem, neatly tied into a ponytail at the back of the male's head. Dressed in mostly black, grey and dark brown, like he was some sort of assassin. Eyes as blue as a crystal clear lake, a certain sparkle that Kris couldn't take his eyes off of-

Kris snapped himself out of his trance and looked towards the man with a sincere smile, not realising that the man hadn't said a word and was studying him like a book. "S-Sorry for staring at you! You just seem like an interesting person and I-"

"You can see me?"

Now that was a question he was not ready for. "W-What do you mean? I can see you perfectly, why wouldn't I be able to see you?" Now the greenette was confused. Two ordinary humans, looking each other in the eyes in the middle of a busy city square like they were in a staring contest. Why would he not be able to see the clearly blue-haired male standing right in front of him, staring him in the eyes intensly?

"How? You shouldn't be able to see me right now."

"Yo Saph! We gotta get going otherwise we'd lose 'em!" Kris snapped out of his second trance that day as he heard another voice in the distance, a slightly deeper one. Seemed like this 'Saph' heard it as well as he suddenly zoned into reality. "I'm coming!" Saph called out, giving the greenette one more studying look before running off into the night club, out of Kris' sight but not out of his mind.

'...The fuck just happened right now?'

A/N: Chapter 1 is done and once again, I'm sorry it took so long TwT. I literally wrote at least 700 words the day this chapter is uploaded xD. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed chapter 1 of this book cause I enjoyed writing it :D.

Next chapter will be uploaded next month, considering next month is only a week away xD.
