The Funeral

The moment that the pallbearers pushed Mi Na's coffin into the furnace, Yoongi wanted to dive in to be cremated with her. The guilt was devouring him alive that made it unbearable to live. His close friends had to restraint him before he did the unthinkable. After all the commotions, Mi Na's funeral service finally completed and dejected Yoongi got escorted back to his parents' house to be under their supervision, because everyone was afraid that he would hurt himself.

Locked himself in the room, Yoongi drowned himself in liquor and deprived himself of food. He behaved like that for a week, despites of his dad's dissuasion and his mom's tears. When Jungkook came to visit and went in the room to check on Yoongi, he found him collapsed on the floor. He rushed him to the hospital. Yoongi was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and had to be admitted for a while. His mom was too shocked with the news that she fainted. When Yoongi regained conciousness and learnt about his mom's condition, he felt great sense of remorse. He, the unfilial son, has caused his parents so much pain and worry. He realized that he needed to put his life back together and try to continue to live, even without Mi Na, for his parents, he must keep going.

After few weeks of hospitalization, Yoongi was discharged and resumed his life. He knew quite well that he could not make his parents concerned like this anymore. He spent most his time in the studio because he could not step back into his house, the place that contains too many memories of Mi Na. He missed her dearly and every night when he closed his eyes, he thought of her, of numerous times that he made her sad and shed tears. He came to realize that he was the bastard who took away her happiness. Only if she was still alive, he sweared that he would never ever make her unhappy again, he would wholeheartedly love her and cherrish her, and would give her the whole world, no, the whole universe. Nevertheless, it could never be possible because Mi Na had left this world. Perhaps, she could be happier in heaven, where an angel like her belongs.
"Mi Na ya, be happy in heaven above, you will be happy without a bastard like me hurting you. Let me live in this hell, let me for the rest of my life be punished for how i treated you." - Yoongi whispered, alone in the dark studio, as tears streamed down his face.

Yoongi went to Mi Na's parents' house and kneeled down to beg for forgiveness. They were a little taken back by his action. They were not upset with him, they were only distraught for losing their only daughter. For matters of the hearts, it was not their place to intervene. After seeing how devastated Yoongi was at their daughter's funeral, they were content somewhat that their poor child's love was not in vain. His recipocation of her love came a little late but hopefully, she could witness that from above. Yoongi handed them the envelope with the check written to the amount that they gave him to marry Mi Na.

"What are you doing, Yoongi?" - Mrs. Kim pushed it back into his hands.

"Eomeoni, abeoji, please accept this money. I am ashamed of myself for not taking care of Mi Na well when she was alive. I want our relationship to not based on this money. Please give me a little pride to raise my head to love her, even though it is a little too late." - Yoongi pleaded, still on his knees.

Mi Na'a mom could not hold back her tears,
"Stupid child, Mi Na doesn't want to see you like this. She is no longer here but you need to keep moving on, Yoongi ya. That poor child always want the best for you so to live happily is to show her how much you love her."

"Yes, eomeomi, abeoji, I will live well. Please allow me to take care of you in Mi Na's place. This is at least I could do for her." - He earnestly begged.

The elders obliged just to make him feel less guilty.
