The Diary pt.1
Mi Na's parents granted Yoongi permission to go up to her room. Yoongi has never stepped into her room, even during their marriage. Every visit they had at her parents' house ended in the livingroom. Open the bedroom door, Yoongi stepped into a very neat and simple room. There was minimal amount of decorations. Yoongi wondered why Mi Na did not try to impose elaborate decorations in his house, instead, she only organized everything and added little touches here and there. He now understood, it was her personality, simple and tidy. Sitting down on her desks, he traced his finger on her picture frame. He missed that shining smile and those sparkling eyes dearly. He wished he could hear her sweet voice asking if he wanted dinner again.
The lavender cover diary caught his eyes. Yoongi opened it and his eyes widened as he saw on the very first page "I Love Min Yoongi" nicely decorated in big fonts written on it. He flipped to the next page and started to read the pages. He should not open that pandora box since it would only bring him heartache and pain, but he was drawn to it because he wanted to enter her world.
"Oct 2x, xx
It was a beautiful autumn day that I got to meet him again. Min Yoongi, Min Yoongi, the first man I have ever loved. I still remember vividly the day he saved me from those thugs."
Yoongi paused his reading and searched his memory for that incident. So she was that girl in high school uniform whom he saved that night 7 years ago from those neighborhood bullies, when he was still financially struggling as a delivery person to pursue his music career. He took her to the nearest police station then took off because he was late for his delivery. He faced too many challenges on his way to success to remember such event. He continued reading,
"He did not come to my rescue like a prince in shining armors or riding on white horse, but he was so heroic in his delivery uniform and his old motocycle. My 15 year old heart has never beaten that strangely fast for any man like it did for him. No, the palpitation was not caused by fear or adrenaline rush, but it beat fast because of him. When i sat on the back of his bike and held onto his back, I wanted to lean on it forever. He disappeared after he dropped me off at the police station as quickly as he appeared to save me. I did not have any information about him nor even his name. I vowed that day that I have to search for him. Unfortunately, after that incident, eomma did not let me go to just any part of the city on my own anymore, especially that area.
I thought I could never see him again and my first love would withered like that, but thanks heaven, he became famous so I could find him again. The day I saw his appearance on the national TV program was the happiest day ever. Call me crazy but I have delevoped an obsession with him when he showcased his talents. To the world, he is a talented rapper and producer, an idol, but to me, he is also my hero. I attended almost all of his events and watched every single video clip that included him. It ripped my heart to realize that he would never know of my existence, I could only admire him from afar.
For 7 years, my parents were worried why I took no interest in any person of opposite sex. They tried to set me up with a lot of sogaetings but I refused profusedly and eventually they gave up. I was planning to live like this until hopefully my affection for him subsides. One month before I had to head to LA for graduate school, the chance came to me, thanks to Eun-jung. She got the inside information from her uncle, who is very close to the group, that Yoongi's family was struggling financially. The wildest idea popped up in my head. Yes, I was crazy at that time, my mind must be disconcerted with the preparation for departure and cognizance of leaving Korea and be further apart from Yoongi; therefore, i came up an insane idea of using our marriage to trade for my parents' financial support.
My parents were pectrified when I mentioned to them the proposal. I had to persuade them for a week, used up all my tactics to get them to comply. Appa used his connections to get in touch with Yoongi and successully persuaded him to agree to the marriage. Appa, saranghae yo!!!! I know it was dirty of me for being opportunistic, but desperate time required desperate measures.
I got to meet him in person today. My heart almost jumped out of my chest when he entered the room. He radiated as he approached closer to our table. He was very polite toward us, too proper in my opinion, because it seemed like he used etiquettes to draw an invisible line between us, to give us the idea that we could never become close and casual. It took all my 22 years of strength to refrain myself from screaming like a loyal fan and to wrap my arms around him tightly, because i missed the warmth of his back so much. I tried so hard to hide the hearts pouring out from my eyes. I must looked like a cheery fool from all the excitement inside of me, ready to explode. On contrary, Yoongi acted very dispassionately and barely looked at me, the one whom he was about to marry. It hit me at that moment that he was not fancied by the idea of arranged marriage, especially one that involved money."
